Vale dropped from the squad entirely which is a good move. That should be a permanent decision. Lots of pace up top today and set up for counter attacking football. I don't rate our back five - Pears, Rankin-Costello, Carter, Wharton, Pickering - is very average.

Have a feeling we may win today. I think it suits us when we're facing teams who will have more possession than us.

Two positives from last night: Travis had his best game in a couple of years and Thomas looks like the sort of player we have been missing. Very direct and gets the ball in the box. Most of our players get the ball and pass it backwards or sideways. I thought JRC was good again but still not convinced he's good enough to be a starter for a team with aspirations of top 6. Same can be said of other starters last night - Carter, Pickering, Buckley, Vale, Pears, Travis. None of those are top 6 quality.

I think the deal will get approved. There seems to be enough evidence from the club to show that the deal was done before the deadline. He'll be a big signing but we're still lacking any real firepower up top.

I may be cynical but it feels like a PR exercise from the club to release names of talented players to journos that we'd like to sign today but realistically won't sign. At least then the club can say we tried to sign some good players but...

We need a big day tomorrow as we've had a dismal month on and off the pitch. If we get a decent striker and CM then I'll be happy. My expectation is that all we'll end up with is a back-up left back. My expectation is also that JDT will quit in the summer. He's an ambitious manager who is at an unambitious club.

Ugbo is better than Gallagher, Vale, and Hirst. I'd take him.

Missed out on Porteous, Gelhardt, and probably Undav too. Not bothered about the first two but thought Undav would be a top signing. This is why the club try and keep all targets quiet as the vast majority won't end up coming here. At least we have signed Sorba who I think will add something but, equally, not a signing to get overly excited about.

Sadly very true. And the least financially lucrative. If Udinese and/or Watford have a serious interest in him then there's no way he's coming here.

Phew very relieved that goal was offside. Both teams were awful so I think a draw was fair. We need a big week in the transfer market. We need a good striker (Undav), some pace in attacking areas, and a leader in the middle of the park.
