  1. Vale dropped from the squad entirely which is a good move. That should be a permanent decision. Lots of pace up top today and set up for counter attacking football. I don't rate our back five - Pears, Rankin-Costello, Carter, Wharton, Pickering - is very average.
  2. Have a feeling we may win today. I think it suits us when we're facing teams who will have more possession than us.
  3. Two positives from last night: Travis had his best game in a couple of years and Thomas looks like the sort of player we have been missing. Very direct and gets the ball in the box. Most of our players get the ball and pass it backwards or sideways. I thought JRC was good again but still not convinced he's good enough to be a starter for a team with aspirations of top 6. Same can be said of other starters last night - Carter, Pickering, Buckley, Vale, Pears, Travis. None of those are top 6 quality.
  4. True, but this is not just about tonight. This side has been unwatchable all season. We are the worst attacking team in the league and the stats back that up.
  5. This side is unwatchable. God awful game.
  6. Awful as per. Vale has to come off, he offers nothing at all. We're absolutely wide open with no defensive shape.
  7. A woefully out of form team who desperately need a result. Who do you wanna play in those circumstances? If Wigan get in our faces and press high on goal kicks then they will get chances as we make a lot of mistakes in possession.
  8. Kinda transfer related as it underlines the last few days - apparently there's not a single replica shirt in the Rovers Store at the moment. The running of the club is shambolic. Anyone who doesn't think JDT is doing a good job should just remember that there's not a single Rovers shirt in our own store!
  9. Pathetic. We've missed out on a quality midfielder because some forgot to fill a form in on time. O'Brien could have been the difference between play offs or not.
  10. Lunchtime on the 2nd Feb and we still have no idea if we made a signing on transfer deadline day or not. Anyone wondering how's it all gone badly wrong over the last 10 years, we have another good example to add to the lengthy list.
  11. It's not a legal thing but I vaguely remember reading about similar situations with other clubs in past windows.
  12. I think the deal will get approved. There seems to be enough evidence from the club to show that the deal was done before the deadline. He'll be a big signing but we're still lacking any real firepower up top.
  13. If Undav and O'Brien sign then we've had a blinder. Top 6 would be very much on. Only an hour to find out.
  14. That's more like it! Cook and O'Brien through the door. A striker too please.
  15. I hope the club is keeping these deals very quiet as we've usually had a name or two by now that are close to signing.
  16. If O'brien, Cook, and a striker come in then we've had a blinder. The good thing about being 10 hours away from the deadline is that you can still dream.
  17. I may be cynical but it feels like a PR exercise from the club to release names of talented players to journos that we'd like to sign today but realistically won't sign. At least then the club can say we tried to sign some good players but...
  18. We need a big day tomorrow as we've had a dismal month on and off the pitch. If we get a decent striker and CM then I'll be happy. My expectation is that all we'll end up with is a back-up left back. My expectation is also that JDT will quit in the summer. He's an ambitious manager who is at an unambitious club.
  19. Ugbo is better than Gallagher, Vale, and Hirst. I'd take him.
  20. Missed out on Porteous, Gelhardt, and probably Undav too. Not bothered about the first two but thought Undav would be a top signing. This is why the club try and keep all targets quiet as the vast majority won't end up coming here. At least we have signed Sorba who I think will add something but, equally, not a signing to get overly excited about.
  21. Sadly very true. And the least financially lucrative. If Udinese and/or Watford have a serious interest in him then there's no way he's coming here.
  22. I'd take Undav over the Leeds guy any day of the week.
  23. Phew very relieved that goal was offside. Both teams were awful so I think a draw was fair. We need a big week in the transfer market. We need a good striker (Undav), some pace in attacking areas, and a leader in the middle of the park.
  24. Woeful from both teams. Every player looks completely disinterested.
  25. Very good news. I think Undav is a done deal. When Rich Sharpe says it "should happen" then you know he's been told by the club it's done deal.
