  1. Exactly, I think we're kidding ourselves if we think any player, manager, coach is not in it for the money. That's the modern game.
  2. Farke is a good manager who did a good job at Norwich. However, we have to take context into account. He was at a well run club with good owners and had a talented set of players. Here he would have a dreadful set of owners, dysfunctional operations, and an ok/solid set of championship players. It's a completely different task. In saying that, the number of dreadful owners and poorly run clubs in the championship has levelled the playing field for us. I feel its going to be a very mediocre league next season which is good news for us.
  3. Farke and Ainsworth look like the early front runners. I'd be happy with either. Talk of a quick appointment is promising.
  4. On the whole TM has done a good job here and will be remembered as being a successful manager during his spell as Rovers manager. I do have sympathy that he's been shown a complete lack of respect by the owners by not even telling him they have no plans to renew his contract, however he's benefitted tremendously from Venkys being inept owners. He's pretty much had free reign at the club do appoint who he wanted at boardroom level and had a huge amount of control at the club. There's no way he would have survived some of the atrocious runs of form if we had owners who cared/had an ounce of football knowledge. I will be pleased to see him go as I think he's a very average championship manager. I do, however, think he's left the club in a fairly healthy position and it will be a role that many managers will be interested in. Farke or Dyche would be excellent appointments but I expect a promotion from within or someone like Alex Neill.
  5. Same old Rovers. Get in a good position in the league, fall off a clip over the next few months, then win the final few games. Still, nice to see a game where we're cruising to victory.
  6. Daniel Farke? Far more likely to be someone like Alex Neill.
  7. Season gone a few weeks ago so I'm not too bothered about the past 2 results. Players are not putting in a shift because they don't want to get injured and ruin a summer move away. Tony just well out of his depth at this level and has been for a few years. I fear a very difficult summer and I think this time next year we'll snatch your hand off for a mid table finish. We're facing a relegation battle with so many players leaving and a chronic lack of investment.
  8. I don't think he has a 'right' position. He's just not very good.
  9. I love Burnley's new owners. They're as bad as ours. Lge 1 here they come.
  10. Don't you just love football! What a kick in the teeth. Pleased for Dacky getting his first goal.
  11. Please just put us and Tony out of his misery. Get rid tonight.
  12. Forest are a great example of how transformative a good manager can be. From no-hopers who made their worst start to a season in decades to a side storming into the top 6 in a matter of a few months.
  13. Realistically top 6 has gone. Some will look at the table and think we still have a chance, but I think that's delusion. Why? 6 goals all year and 7 away games in a row without scoring. We're in relegation form. Time to turn attention to how we sort out the mess in the summer where 3 key players will be leaving and we won't get a penny for them. Not to mention the two loanees and main goalscorer going. A huge mess. Hoping we get a new manager in the summer and I think we will. We're looking at a 2-3 year re-building job which I don't think TM will have the appetite for.
  14. Same with Bristol City. Not kept an away clean sheet all season and then they play us and keep one.
  15. Dreadful. Anyone who doesn't think Mowbray out, just remember he spent £5m on Gally and gave him a new contract. Anyone can see he's not a footballer and he's cost us today.
  16. That performance resembled last season - all over the place at the back. No idea how Reading aren't a couple of goals up but here we sit at 0-0. Have a feeling Reading will rue those missed chances.
  17. Good line up. Let's go and get those 3 points. Feeling confident that we'll win today.
  18. Good win and much needed. I think it kicked off in the dressing room at ht and TM regrets some of the things he said. That's the impression I get from his post match interview. He's certainly questioning the commitment of some of the more "technical players" (Rothwell!).
  19. Wow. When did we last see a team collapse so badly in the same season. We've fallen off a cliff.
  20. I think we'll win today. We've played pretty well the last 2-3 games and should have won. Derby are very poor so we'll get chances tonight and will surely stick one or two away. Gallagher had to be dropped and is lucky to even be on the bench. 2-0 victory
  21. It's all very frustrating given what a good position we were in to at least get the play off - now we're outsiders and the odds are against us. There are certainly criticisms of the manager to be had but we are missing a huge amount of attacking talent at the moment - Breo, Dack, Khadra, Poveda, Markanday. With one or two of those on the pitch last night we would have won. Attacking options of Gally, Giles and Vale is just not good enough. But why did we not sign another striker in Jan, why have we gone back to Tony Tombola with square pegs in round holes. We have big problems in the summer with SIX first team players departing - Nyambe, Breo, Lenihan, Rothwell and two brighton loaness. That's a lot of talent that will be very hard to replace.
