  1. You just know we won't win a game if we concede first. That's a huge issue. I'd back the likes of Fulham, Bournemouth and QPR to be able to turn games around if they concede the first goal.
  2. Realistically, we're not a top 2 team. Far from it actually. We're a mid table side at best so we should remember how brilliantly we're doing despite the absolute rubbish we've seen over the past 4 games. Top 6 has to be the aim. Giving it out wide to Giles to cross into the box as our only attacking tactic is not the way forward though. If the plan is to play like that then why did TM turn down the chance to sign an out and out striker. It beggars belief sometimes.
  3. Utter garbage tonight. Giles the only one with any ounce of quality.
  4. Have we actually strung a pass together in any of our games in 2022? It is truly a miracle we're anywhere near top 2. Chances of us coming back to win this? Zero to nil I'd say.
  5. Sounds like we're back to full strength on Saturday which is good. Swansea are certainly more style over substance. We've gone quite the opposite and it's working like a dream.
  6. I hope Hedges does really well but looking good in training is completely different to looking good in a competitive game. But he's obviously got some talent.
  7. A poor deadline day for us but a good window overall. We kept all of our best players which was the absolutely key bit of business for us. We've had a real coup in getting Markanday permanently, Zeefuik looks a good player and a permanent deal is there if we want it, Hedges I'm not so sure about but let's see what he can do, and Giles will be a good addition on loan with his set pieces. Think we're a bit light up front and we have to hope Diaz can keep scoring. If he gets injured then we're in real trouble. My main concern is CM though. Take out Rothwell or Travis and we don't have any real quality to come in. Johnson can plug some gaps for 20 minutes here and there but doesn't really impact a game. Davenport and Edun are just not that good imo. Buckley doesn't have the same impact in a deeper position. Top 2 will be a stretch too far I think but play offs is very realistic. In fact, I'd be disappointed if we didn't get top 6 at this point and that would be an outstanding season. Let's not even think about next season yet with no Lenihan, Nyambe, Rothwell, Diaz, Khadra, Van Hecke...
  8. Let's face it, Bournemouth have made some class signings today and are huge favourites for second spot. We just can't compete with their parachute payments. Can they all gel into a team though? Or will they be a collection of individuals?
  9. What a dismal day so far. In striking distance of the prem and looks like a loan lb will be the only deal at the moment. Hope there's something bubbling with other deals but we've usually heard about it by now.
  10. Even if they miss out, they'll have a very good squad of players next year. Sadly I'm very impressed with their recruitment.
  11. All very quiet. Looking like Giles the only one coming in at the moment. Why have we let Maja go to Stoke?
  12. We need a CM and striker too. Be a disappointing window without that.
  13. Bournemouth really going for it. If they get everyone in they want then they're big favourites for 2nd. Still, they can't buy what we have - grit, determination and passion. We're the best in the league for those qualities
  14. I don't think the players will care tbh, they know how it works. The only people annoyed are the fans as we feel everyone should be loyal to us but football doesn't work like that. They follow the money, just as most of our do in our own careers. Plus, there's a big jackpot for all the players if they get promoted so he won't down tools. I'll be pleased to see him back in the starting 11 on Saturday.
  15. Where did all this mi-information come from yesterday? Bid accepted, Rothwell down in Bournemouth ready to sign...instead no bid accepted and probably around the training ground today. Great move by the club to keep him. What is £3m worth to a club for one of your best players when you're going for promotion. It's peanuts.
  16. Well Rothwell's been led on then by Bournemouth. Perhaps this is a lesson to him to not believe everything your advisers say. Clearly way down on the list of targets for them.
  17. Shocking decision by the club. Weaken us, strengthen them for a small fee. Very poor. What does this say about our ambitions to go up?
  18. Our local journo is usually a couple of steps behind what's going on.
  19. He's usually spot on. Very concerning. That would be a shocking bit of business.
  20. I wouldn't be selling Rothwell in our league position. No way. But once a player asks to go there's usually only one outcome.
  21. Not initially but I do think he's got all the right qualities to be a prem footballer. There can't be many better than him at running with the ball. There's no doubt it would be a big dent in our promotion bid him leaving.
