They did but what's that got to do with now? We only have the resources if Venkys agree to expend them, surely? Given up trying to work Venkys out! Hide behind FFP is the Ewood motto these days.
-
That the squad is too thin is bourne out by the number of late goals we concede. Other teams bring on 3 or 4 with some time to go. They're fresh and make a difference. Meanwhile we hang on or bring on players who are worse. The January window destroyed our promotion hopes last season, it looks like it'll be the same outcome this season. We have the resources to remain in the Championship but no more than that. The sad truth. Very different than JDT promised when he arrived.
-
We needed a striker and a tough defensive central mid-fielder minimum. It looks like failure.
-
Sounds like the type of character that will do well there though!!
-
I was there on the Riverside. Freezing and dangerous!
-
Well the Ewood Revolution never took off did it? No difference between this Transfer window and those that went before.
-
Sad remembering how excited we used to get about the FA Cup as kids.
-
Surely Mowbray will be all over that!
-
Rothwell another. Terrible manager in other ways our Tony but made some shrewd buys.
-
Edun? Smovic?
-
Done.

As I said....

I'm happy to put my views on this public forum, its arguing with the likes of you puts me off. over and out.
-
Yeah and put Samba up front!
-
Pity then.

Ever the contrarian. No-one could cross a ball in the last 5 plus years? That's bull-shit. Hedges can, Dack can, Brereton can for that matter---he just can't be on the end of one as well! Getting childish this. Get tangled up with someone like you and forget why I'm on here.
-
That'll be new. Snatching at straws I think. Dack has excellent delivery anyway.
-
Yes I do----who's going to do it then?
-
We've taken him on because e he's good at set-pieces?!! C'mn! We need a more grown-up discussion than that. Is he fitting into our existing set-up or is he the first in a series of signings where we change our approach? That's critical. Hedges was a winger at Aberdeen, his strength was his crossing and he had a good shot on him when he cut inside. We don't see that side of him much because he was shoe-horned into an existing structure. Khadra was an exciting and talented young player who could look a champion , but in our set-up he too often ran in to blind allies. As does Dolan for that matter. Unless a winger has the right players in the middle to take advantage of his pace/skills we won't get the best out of them. That particularly affects set-pieces. We play sterile football, we score few goals because we create few chances. So, until I see the totality of this transfer window I worry about the prospects for this sort of player. There are other players we need more. I hope there is a plan but, with a week to go, I fear that's its the same old. I hope that's a better post than "Give the lad a chance FFS".

3 "ifs" in one post!
-
Rather than take the piss ( that's the easy bit) tell me who he'll be crossing to? "This place" really can be hilarious eh?
-
No-one saw this transfer coming so I suppose that's encouraging in a way. We'll have to have a different set-up though to get anything out of him---like a central striker.
-
So long as there's someone to cross to!
-
We never do though. Always last minute and not our first choices. Going according to plan.
-
WE can only sign players that-one else is in for it seems. Whenever anyone else is linked with a player we're after I just give up. I know they'll offer more in wages, even if its Wigan!
