  1. Loved all those mentioned but they weren't better than Buckley's yesterday. The volley by Tugay from a Pedersen corner was fantastic but Buckley's was from the deck farther out and hardly any backlift. So it seemed to me anyway!
  2. Has there ever been a better goal of its type--ie a long-distance strike---scored by any Rovers player in the last fifty years? If there is I can't remember it. As for Brereton he was on top of his game yesterday. Full of energy and intelligent runs, he is running into space for the return almost before he passes it! Great goal. I think he's going to be a big star and I'm sad its going to be with someone else. Quite different to what I thought when he came!
  3. I've never been as certain about anything in my life!
  4. And you won't need to comment on it either. Another bonus!
  5. We'll be passing the ball backwards then. Plus ca change and all that!
  6. I could see Dyche to Everton if they went down. They could afford him for a start.
  7. He hadn't been here long before he wanted a reunion with Mourinho and sulked like the clappers when he didn't get his dream move. From looking a great buy, stopped trying and, judging by his girth, stopped training as well. You must know all this surely?
  8. After the 5 year+ journey that's utterly disgraceful. I feel betrayed.
  9. Look at where the managers Venkys hired ended up. Bowyer has found his level at Salford City for example. Appleton has managed in the lower leagues. Keeping them would have eventually brought us to that level. I agree Mowbray is better than that but not massively. He could never take us up and he certainly couldn't keep us up. 5+ years is long enough.
  10. Increasingly it’s getting hard to get out of the Championship. In theory there are 3 available places but in reality it’s down to one mostly. Norwich will come back, they always do, I’d expect any of Leeds,Everton or Burnley to return immediately. The existing Championship teams can all fight in the play-offs for the one remaining place. Parachute payments make it unfair (unless you chuck them away like we did)
  11. Got to admit I thought Burnley were doomed at various points this season. To pull out of it as they have has been truly remarkable. They got the bounce out of sacking a terrific manager. We had a mediocre one and kept him on despite losses piling up
  12. So much for the journey we've been on over the last 5 years! Taken us for mugs.
  13. That's not normal behaviour though is it? Surely every club should have a manager arranged so that one takes over as the other departs. Just as the potential targets for transfers in and out should have been sorted before season end. A new manager needs to hit the ground running with his team 1st day back. None of that happens at Ewood anymore. And I don't think your scenario will eventuate, his contract will run down and he'll be off that day. Its a graceless way to treat him. He has after all been here nearly 6 years. I want him out but some manners wouldn't hurt. I don't think that's a good look from the club's point of view and it doesn't encourage anyone who might be interested in coming to Ewood.
  14. and half a team.
  15. Give that he's our best batter, a genuine fast bowler of international standard and a brilliant slips fielder I'd say he's taking on one hell of a load. Will his player contribution decline as his skippers job takes over? I must say I wish we could have found someone else. I accept that none come to mind.
  16. That is just not true.
  17. So Mowbray forever then?
