  1. VAR has largely put paid to many of the decisions that always seemed to go Manure's way! Flowers sending off at Ewood very early in the first half. Totally meant we couldn't win that game. That was probably the worst but there were so many!
  2. It makes me laugh that some can't grasp that the finance available at Ewood to pay players isn't enough to sign them or keep them. All we can do is to keep getting loanees in and produce young players and hope they retain some loyalty to us. As we've seen already, its not working.
  3. No---Johnson as our "false 9" takes first prize for me! Silver to Gally!
  4. I wouldn't mind the Phil Jones we sold them!
  5. Jones? He'll have to take £4000 a week mind!
  6. They won't delay the start of the season until we're ready though!
  7. just wondering which I'd prefer! On reflection an easy decision!
  8. Why do you always take the most optimistic approach to any discussion of the club? Its not like much positive has happened in 12 years, especially in the area of protecting our assets.
  9. 2nd post more accurate than the first there Dreams! Personally don't remember anyone attacking a youth policy per se. A lot of posters wanted Travis in long before Mowbray did as I recall and many have called for Vale to be given his chance. However we do need the correct mix of youth and experience--its a long season!
  10. At this rate it'll reach 8000 about the end of the season! Well done Waggot!
  11. There would have been initial dismay. However the real reaction would have depended on who we signed as replacements.
  12. That's true of Rothwell and was opposed to selling him to bournemouth for the reason you raise. However, halfway through his last contract year is way too late to be addressing this issue
  13. Someone should tell them that waiting for the stands to fall down and then rebuilding them isn't cost-effective either!
  14. Its simple alright but meaningless. If the offers were too low for the players involved then of course they would reject them. and that's obviously how all 3 felt. We've thrown 3 first-teamers away for nothing. That is failure and will cost more than nothing to replace them like for like won't it? Looks like we'll be reliant on loans again instead of building a side.
  15. How can it be anything other than tricky if our wage structure doesn't allow us Tommy what others will? It would be humiliating to see players choosing the likes of Preston, Blackpool and Bolton over us. But that's what could happen. Our new management team need to point out a few facts to our hapless owners and so-called administrators.
  16. No bids needed---they're free! Only needs one approach.
  17. Exactly right. When it became apparent that those three were unwilling to resign or that the Club felt it couldn't meet their demands then they should have been put on the transfer list and we should have strengthened the squad. As it is we are diluting it and getting nothing back.
  18. The right thing to do would have been to offer them new contracts which reflected their ability before their old one ran out.
