  1. As in 1 goal in 8 games? I'd say he isn't playing them very well!
  2. I goal in 8 games might have something to do with it Gav. The effects of that pre-Christmas run are fast wearing out.
  3. Agree. What's the point of running through a brick wall? I just want someone to put that spherical thing between those 2 sticks. Its not that hard is it?
  4. Sometimes players surprise you and grow with the size of the task but I'm not confident about any of ours currently and, apart from Kaminski, we will lose the most likely ones anyway. I suspect the centre-back trio would be as good as a few teams near the bottom but 2 will leave presumably. Bit of a chance with Buckley in the right position. Not one central striker, Brereton might succeed but he'll be off. I'd be interested to see how Travis coped but not confident. Dack in peak form could make it but he's been out so long no-one knows how long he will take to get there, if ever. That's it. Basically we would need a huge overhaul, overseen by a very capable manager, which we don't have and never will have with Venkys. The most likely outcome of promotion would be complete embarrassment and down by Christmas. I suppose the silver lining would be parachute payments but they would probably end up where they did before. No hope really till Venkys are a bad memory. So different from the last 2 times we went up. EDIT--Sorry, I've read it as who could play EPL if we went up, but I'll leave it anyway. More interesting thread imo!
  5. The reason we don't play with main strikers is that we haven't got any! Because of Mowbray. Its a circular argument and we seem to be running around in circles with no-one who can put the ball in the net!
  6. You're ignoring context though, as if we don't have a serious on-going problem. We didn't just have a goalscoring problem today, we have one every game. 1 Goal in 8 games---that's catastrophic for a team that has promotion aspirations. You could make those comments after every game for the rest of the season but we wouldn't be going up would we?
  7. I'm just hoping the season will end with us somehow, somewhere in the 6. Unthinkable just a few weeks ago. Our team is so lop-sided and I've said this so many times. We can defend but, unless Kaminski stuffs up, every game is odds on 0-0 draw.
  8. No-one will ever touch Duggie for me and I saw him through his entire career. But Dolan is very good with that final ball and I like him a lot! He is a star of the future imo.
  9. Very good player is Dolan, the sky's the limit for him. Got plenty of time to work on his weaknesses. Not been as excited about a new young talent for years. Love the way he threads that ball through, Duggiesque! If only he had decent strikers ahead of him.
  10. With one goal in our last 6 games how is it possible to have such expectations?
  11. That's true, chatting away the whole game these days, even to the crowd!
  12. Now that's exactly what I thought. Johnson held the ball too long and released to too late and the defender was able to get the tackle in. As for that "shot"!
  13. So the more you spend the poorer the results? Since when?
  14. Bit late for that!
  15. I think yuo missed this bit: "In other news Pickering offered a contract offer as a reward for his progress"
  16. Venkys decided not to strengthen Bournemouth if you recall. No-one else was in for him.
  17. I accept that it is possible that Nyambe could leave whatever was offered. I don't know how much he earns or how much he wants. But its strange that 3 players whose contracts run out at the end of the season all seem likely to leave. That suggests to me that they feel undervalued but that's merely my opinion. Whatever the truth of it, there clubs don't seem to have this problem at this scale do they? Or have I got that wrong too?
  18. We have to take your word for all this. But we've got 3 players in exactly the same position. That makes it less easy to accept your thesis that none of this is Rover's fault. Agents are fair game I suppose but if Nyambe truly wants to accept our offer, he would.
  19. Noticed Bournemouth's attendance at last week's home game was 9600.
  20. C'mn, I said "if" we keep losing players. I was obviously talking about potential losses at the end of the season---Lenihan, Rothwell and Nyambe and further losses down the track as contracts end. You knew that and you are being annoying.
  21. He'll get paid what he believes he's worth though and that seems to be the case for others. How do we progress if we keep losing good players for nothing and having to start again at the end of every season? The admin/ ownership at Rovers seem blind to reality.
