So true. We have to rely on indviduals, because we have no system to open defences. Lack of width is a major factor here.
-
Its because you insist on defending the indefensible. We can see with our own eyes that he's playing wide but you insist he isn't. Its one of several failings by the manager which he will not address and you will not criticise. Its why we won't be going up.
-
I suspect there is no good time to write an article critical of TM.
-
Agree there, he should have written it months ago. But better late than never!
-
Bloody infuriating. Mowbray gives other teams too much respect.
-
Some of those responses from fans to that article are bizarre particularly Reg of the Rovers or whatever he's called. He actually wants the paper to be a propaganda sheet and is angry that there is criticism of the Rovers in it! Some of those guys actually think the LT should get behind the lads FFS! Anyone who has any scepticism is instantly labelled a Dingle! Scary really. Would they expect papers to deny there was a Coronavirus crisis so it would go away?
-
I agree but I don't blame Gallagher. He's hardly another Shearer but his confidence must be shot to pieces. Mowbray is destroying him.
-
Its taken you a while to think that one up! Never known you so quiet. And who says we needed 1.8 points per game? Its not a computer game. We need every point we can get, wherever, however. What we needed was to beat a team struggling against relegation at home. We needed a win to compensate for a future loss. Are you seriously saying we've drawn the last two games and we're on track and everything's under control?
-
Prediction----we will comply with it but others will get round it. And they'll be the ones promoted!
-
Well, you're being very optimistic there. But, one thing we might agree on, none of it will happen if he continues on the wing.
-
So what? Is this supposed to show what a tight unit we are? How come we weren't good enough to bet a relegation-threatened team then? Or couldn't even score? At home!!
-
Its only a few days since most of us were expressing the hope that Gallagher wold never play on the wing again. We were deluded. This manager just makes the same mistakes without any come-back.
-
Despite the talk fo Rovers" surging" we have actually taken 9 points from the last 18. This is not last minute promotion-busting form. Its steady progress largely because we haven't been losing. With Bristol City seemingly dropping like a stone, we could well finish 7th. Progress but no prize. We will be looking back in grief at the points that were there for the taking over the season but we couldn't take. So will every other club I suppose. But the crux here is our early poor form, the manager's loyalty to his League 1 players, a long disastrous run and successive poor transfer windows. The problems were identified, not least by the fans, but were never adequately addressed. For example we are so dependent on that Tosin/Linihan partnership but did anyone seriously think it would se us through an entire season? Also,if you are going to challenge for promotion 1 striker at least needs to score regularly and 2 of our's rarely score at all and Armstrong has been wasted on the wing.
-
TBF, the side that goes up rarely starts the first game in the Premiership---apart from Burnley. However, you have to have a solid core o at leastf 5 or 6 players capable of Premier League football and add to them in the summer. We had better than 5 or 6 both times we were promoted but I really doubt we have that core now. Nothing much upfront particularly, despite that being where we have spent all the money. Additionally old 'uns plus loans sees us sadly lacking. Need to have more quality and depth in this squad before we are serious contenders. The Manager's transfers have been inadequate.
-
Forget the "must win" bit. Tonight was must win. Its not going to happen now. How many chances do we need? Just got to get as many points as we can and try to keep some momentum going for next season. Gutted.
-
And its not a new problem is it?

About 10 minutes ago I replied " LOL!" to this post because I did laugh out loud! Post disappeared though.
-
Raya, Hoillet----I'm sure there's a very long list if I can get my brain to work.
-
Sorry, my apologies! I've stuffed up here. I would never intentionally inflict Paul's words on you-----or anybody! Very good post too (from you!)
-
What ever happened to Lee Grooby? Doesn't work for Rovers anymore I understand. Still around?
-
Would you sign Christian Walton

My view too. We need Walton and a keeper! Shows again the task facing us in summer. -
Great detective work!

"will...... progress" You know this how? I don't see much progression. He still can't trap it for a start. And he doesn't play much because TM doesn't pick him. The only problem is that it allows you and others to say we can't write him off because he's never had a fair chance. Which is unprovable and circular. Logically you should be having a go at the manager for neglecting him but you never do! "will continue to progress" is clever, it accepts unquestioningly that he is progressing. He isn't. As for Gallagher, there is a footballer in there somewhere and maybe TM and the staff can bring him on. But, at the time we bought him, he was never worth £5M or even half.

Yes, that makes sense. I always came from the Darwen side than so I didn't remember it.

LOL! I've got a photo of my grand-parents on the beach at Blackpool sitting on deck chairs. My Grandad is wearing a dark, heavy suit, a waistcoat, a white shirt with a starched collar and tie and polished black shoes. They didn't exactly chill out back then did they?
