The sort of game where we astound everyone by losing. 1-0 will do me and I'll be relieved.
-
His record suggests he can't.

In reality, people simply think that Mowbray could have done a lot better with what he has. Clearly that does not equate to thinking we could do a better job! But for someone with such experience he has made some bewildering decisions. Can you explain them? Fans on here have pleaded with him to play Travis and Reed in the middle together, warned him against moving Downing on without signing a replacement, continually told him Evans/Smallwood were not a viable pairing, expressed astonishment that Rothwell was continually left out, begged him to stop playing players out of position, and suggested that changing the team every game was not helping us. Fans on here have also specifically pointed to lack of spending on defence and, surprise, we have shipped goals by the bucket-load. Perhaps the core of BRFC posters aren't as daft as you seem to think.

Harry? !!

and we signed the wrong one!
-
Oh yes he can!

Ok, he needs to make 3 or 4 signings---I'd say at least. But, they have to be capable of going straight into the first team replacing his mates not merely giving them competition. Secondly he has to play them and thirdly they must be allowed to give of their best in their strongest position-------no central strikers on the wing, no midfielders at centre-back, no Chapman on the right wing. I could go on! This has to be TM's last chance, and I am not confident. If I thought for a minute that Venkys had a genuinely good manager lined up, I would not hesitate to support that but I'm a realist.

When did we last move early in the transfer market? My impression is always of a last minute scramble after awaiting advice from India.

"He might not take us up but he absolutely deserves the chance to try. " I've actually said that more than once myself and that's the way I voted. I accept you wrote a long and well-reasoned post, hence I only responded to a little section of it! You yourself admitted you used the wrong word so I don't think we're arguing about much do you? However, and we may disagree here, he'll have to substantially lift his game next season or the lives will be out in force. Some bewildering decisions and talk in recent times have undermined my faith in him, in particular his misguided loyalty to players who clearly are not good enough which, in turn, has led to the exclusion of players we should be playing.Does anyone disagree with that?

Strawman alert! No-one expects perfection and TM hasn't come anywhere near it.
-
I don't want competition for our League 1 squad, I want replacements for the ones who have proved to be not good enough this season. Not competition we need per se but talent. That's why I'm so furious about extended contracts. Makes no sense.

Let's get Wharton back in the summer.
-
Well he's costing us goals! I find that infuriating and frustrating.

I was being ironic!

The classic "hindsight' argument again. I didn't need it to see this was a poor deal, confirmed by seeing how little we used him and how unready he was. Those of us who didn't need hindsight were called out by others who did! Particularly you. Now you're saying we wrote him off too early! Clear implication that its time to write him off now! We just got the timing wrong!! This was and is a bad deal. We have blown most of our summer budget on a player who isn't good enough to play, while ignoring the defensive inadequacies that were obvious to most at the time. And we are still looking to replace Graham! "worst transfer in twenty years"------YES. Another Grabbi but Grabbi was a far better player. Brereton is so far out of his depth it defies belief. Nuttall is far better and he was free. At least he can head it. Dance on the head of a pin if you want, invent all the straw men you can (ticket surcharges or whatever) but you have spent months defending the indefensible, for what?

Bingo----the lower the wage, the more we have to pay for them!!! Its a strange world out there!
-
Jordan Rhodes on! Desperate times and all that!
-
The mysterious case of Joe Rothwell.

Careful! -
No its a wages-based decision! (apparently)

These points are true and unarguable. Nothing to suggest this isn't a big clanger.
