Doh! And let's not be prescriptive about the thread. In the absence of signings it always develops into whatever takes anyone's fancy. I'd suggest you'd be as guilty as anyone else if I checked back. And just to prove it: rigger if it is a straight choice between Brereton and Nuttall, I would take Brereton. renrag and BankEnd Rover like this
-
Well of course we are! But that doesn't prevent us having different opinions about any aspects of the club does it? There are differing opinions about Nuttall on here and I was agreeing with you while, I must admit, having a little dig at you over Brereton at the same time! You've come close to agreeing Ben can't head it by the way!
-
EH? I was on your side!
-
So Nuttall's only worth £6M then?
-
Didn't bother chasing back when he lost the ball is another.
-
And he can head it!
-
Would they want him? £500000 max is my guess.
-
Oh we have no choice but to stick with him. The fee has determined that.
-
Well, blow me down! Wherever did I get that idea then? It was commonly stated at the time and never challenged as far as I remember so I simply accepted it. Feeling very embarrassed tbh. But you are the first person I've ever read on here to say that as far as I recall so I won't be the only one to have got it wrong.
-
That speaks volumes.
-
Sorry but what's this refer to?
-
Dack often appears anonymous during a game but he does three or four things no-one else on the pitch could do. That's why I like him. His fitness, his attitude, his off the field life, are all aspects which a good manger can work on but those silky skills he has cannot---they are instinctive and we are lucky to have him.
-
We needed a centre-back with leadership qualities a year ago but, for some reason, paid £7M for a young striker with none. I think we do need a reliable keeper, maybe Raya is one for the future too.
-
Well let's close on that!
-
You can say whatever you like but it would be nice if you were consistent. What you can't expect is to deny a figure for months and then use that same figure when it suits you and not have that pointed out.
-
Yes! Supporters all over the country are berating their clubs for not signing this £7M bargain! Imagine their grief when he's a full England international and worth £60M. A few have asked but nobody has answered ---if we put this future star up for sale now, how much would we get?
-
Good deflection! You spent months arguing vociferously that Brereton didn't cost £7M. Then, when it suits you, you claim we spent £10+ million in last year's transfer window, a figure that can only be arrived at by including £7M for Brereton. Got it? End of!
-
The thread is "stay or go?" If that's his attitude we will never go up. So what's the point?
-
-
When you stated we spent £10+ million last summer on transfers, I assume you were assuming £7M for the transfer of Brereton? Its just that you denied that for months.... As for the under-21 bit, when we signed him you insisted he was an 'experienced" player with Forest and told me how many games he'd played. I'm all for under-21's but not at £7M. You can't divorce the fee from the transfer when judging it. So, to be relevant to the thread, I hope TM never makes a blunder like that this transfer window or any other.
-
Isn't good enough.
-
So long as £7M doesn't go on one player who isn't able to play.
-
I thought the straw that broke the camel's back was the Board's failure to allow Hughes to replace Savage when he broke his leg?
-
I hope we don't spend a few million like last summer.
