  1. Can't understand how we went into this tournament as Favourites. Watching the likes of Germany, Spain and even lesser teams, they move the ball so much quicker than we do and they shoot from anywhere. We look pedestrian by comparison. I'd give Wharton his chance but I don't expect Southgate to. We plod on.
  2. Well we know the way its going now. Sign promising youths and once they look like making it, flog them off cheap to the first bidder. Avoid the risk of promotion at all costs. Forget about a season ticket and just watch the youth teams! So much cheaper!
  3. Agree, no excuses this time. If the money we've got now from recent transfers and add-ons is simply available to pay running costs, then the Club has no future and will inevitably slide down the Leagues into oblivion. Rotten transfer window after rotten transfer window is all we get.
  4. Wharton will be given his chance a) as a sub if we have a decent lead or b) start in a game where we've already qualified (hopefully!). Southgate is a cautious manager and Wharton has a long England career ahead of him. Thins invaluable experience for him whether he plays or not.
  5. Ist question is easy----we're going nowhere but down. 2nd question--why? I await Rudy's explanation.
  6. Can't see what we did 2 summers ago having any relevance. Surely, since we only avoided relegation on the last day of the season we need a much stronger squad and that requires money. Stupid post.
  7. Precision passing up-front from Germany was a sight to behold. It was like they had 10 Adam Whartons! Sottish fans are fantastic but unrealistic!
  8. So why are we always scrapping around in the bargain basement? Why don't we spend decent money for once?
  9. Full page Guardian article on Adam! https://www.theguardian.com/football/article/2024/jun/12/euro-2024-england-adam-wharton-crystal-palace
  10. Kaminski (sob)-----https://www.lutontoday.co.uk/sport/football/luton-town/hatters-keeper-didnt-realise-just-how-good-unbelievable-kaminski-was-ahead-of-his-luton-move-4662188
  11. His England debut was just like his Blackpool debut. It was all there! A real shame that the countries top clubs hadn't the brains or knowledge to go for him. An auction would have given us something like his real value.
  12. I bet Venkys regret ever signing up JDT. He showed us what was possible, specifically that the "journey" didn't have to go on forever. We'd have gone up if he'd been backed.
  13. Is it possible to feel pride and deep sadness at the same time? I think so.
  14. That's OK in itself but who's gonna be on the bench----the under-12s?
  15. I wish they'd gone for Rooney but Frank will do!
  16. I just associate Bowen with one of the happiest times to be a Rover. Hope that some of that would rub off.
  17. In any case nothing resembling bullying on these recent pages. If a number of people disagree with his posts why shouldn't they say so? No bad language, no insults but its not nursery class.
  18. But we didn't! We avoided relegation on the last day! So what point are you trying to make? I honestly don't follow.
  19. Its as clear as all the those posts you reply to with "that's just your opinion and I don't agree with it "(without saying "why" of course). It kills debate---can you not see that?
  20. Again, that's just your opinion and I don't share it! 😀
  21. So what. We're talking about Rovers and an inadequate squad. Most teams didn't sell their best player in January for that matter.
  22. If we were to spend £5M it might keep us in the Championship. We need more than that to be a serious contender. Not a season to look forward to.
