We signed him when, in reality, the leap from the level he was playing at was too great. That doesn't mean he's a write-off. He has a lot to learn but he's young and keen so I think we just have to be patient with him and see. However that's no excuse for not signing the striker we desperately needed at the time and surely we must do something in January?

The catch is that he came to us to rehabilitate his terrible reputation after his time at Rangers. We benefit from his skills but at the same time stand to lose him as his value increases and attracts others. Presumably there's a release clause in his contract so we won't make much money out of it.

I don’ think we disagree here do we? depth is about quality not mere numbers. As someone above alluded to, we will always have a starting eleven and we’ll always have substitutes available in numbers but not, sadly, in depth. Anyway I’m sick of tidying up Riggers messes while he buggers off!
