  1. Yes I was there and that was hotly contested and regarded as an aberration at the time. I didn't care because we'd been denied a better claim earlier. Foul on Douglas I think. Happiest day of my life!
  2. By the time they get round to it Sheff United will have been promoted probably and be solvent again and out of the EFL's jurisdiction.
  3. In today's football "yes a pen". Only a few years ago "no, never". I prefer yesterday--the guy didn't handle it, it hit him. Moreover, it was a harmless mishit from Gallagher which the keeper would have taken with a teaspoon. The real story of that incident was Gallagher's inability to control the ball and smash a sitter in from about 4 yards.
  4. Yes agree, there is absolutely no way we would have beaten City. so I'm not too downhearted either. It was an outstanding performance, one of great credit from players and fans, both gave their all. We played in the most exciting game of the season to a huge TV audience and showed the world we're on our way back.
  5. He put his arm out for balance, he certainly didn't stop a goal! Those are the rules but we'd be pissed off if it were to happen to us. Anyway, I'm delighted, we were under the cosh a bit before that.
  6. Brittain Dolan Wharton A---could all make an impact off the bench. Bit thin after that.
  7. Ha! Heckingbottom worried about VAR! Wonder why? "totally different game" he says! https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-united/sheffield-united-boss-sounds-var-warning-ahead-of-return-for-blackburn-cup-tie-4069811
  8. Some honest and interesting comments from Broughton about the January transfer window. Apologies if this has already been posted but I hadn't seen it before. https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/football-news/blackburn-rovers-transfer-window-plans-26493734
  9. Quite true. When Rovers first won the League it was observed that this was some sort of compensation for losing the Cup Final!
  10. Not to the FA it isn't. Done solely to help pay the cost of the new stadium. They couldn't care less about the fans
  11. My Dad went to the 1928 one with his Dad and his brother. Gave me the story about it at least once a year! I went to the 1960 final with him and my Mum but I seriously wish I hadn't. My Dad never went to Ewood again except once in 1963-4 at Christmas when we played West Ham! I'd been geeing him up for weeks as well!
  12. The Community Shield! We didn't take that one seriously did we?
  13. I thought there were outpourings of affection and angst at Peterborough when he was reportedly signing for us? At his last game, as turned out to be, weren't there "we don't want you to go" type banners?
  14. Sizeable minority on here supported right through. Rovers fans generally----much more so. He had a very easy ride.
  15. You only have to look at what's happening at Sunderland right now to know what sort of a manager he is. Well rid.
  16. VAR and we'd have had a pen at Stoke and a draw. Clear as can be.
