  1. And some of them now are getting high and mighty about present crowds i'd wager.
  2. You might be half right here, if we are being honest it's not exactly been supplementing for most of the time. The funding has been required to correct an absolute back log of mistakes and nonsense and plugging the huge financial hole this ownership is responsible for creating. I do hope one day they do actually become benefactors.
  3. When Bolton dropped out the Prem they lost 5k home fans overnight. They didn't have a Kean or a Venkys or the problems they had later at that time. All too easy to constantly chuck the crowd line at Rovers but when you are backed by billionaires who've thrown money at it it's a bit straw man. We are where we are because we've been run horrendously, fleeced, ripped off, neglected and ignored - Fact The amount of money put in over the last decade way outweighs the lack of crowds and if run properly it would have made a massive difference. Rovers are what they are and yes gates need improving and both club and fans should do their bit but anybody dreaming of regular crowds over 15k in this division is in cloud cuckoo land. Long term fans really should know better, this club along with many many others will always need millions of pounds of outside funding to compete at most levels. Thats nearly always been the case and always will be and the level we've had we should be batting way above our weight crowds or no crowds. If it's really wanted to be successful employ the right people, run it correctly and fund it to the hilt.
  4. Yes there was something mentioned the other week about him being injured but it didn't say what. Seems to have been out a while though.
  5. Who ? The Greek lad ? Must've missed that one as that's who i'm on about. Look before you leap there's a good lad.
  6. It's a good idea and seems to be going well hopefully a few do get keen enough to be regular fans. Getting that part of the community involved could lead to a decent gate increase in future. A word of warning though, no way will they pay some pf the prices these crackpots come up with currently.
  7. Yay, a 3pm cup game just up the road. Proper cup tie if priced correctly.
  8. He has an injury issue i think.
  9. Cue the bit were they have to sell the STC they transferred off the books first and move the whole operation to the academy whilst the other site gets prepared...😉
  10. I'll take a punt and say they'll stick the all in one new football complex on a corner of it then build an industrial park or something on the rest. Idea might be income from that goes towards the football site running costs i just cannot see a revolutionary training center set in the middle of 150 acres. It all started as a need to cut running costs and that was made in public.
  11. So an attempt to squeeze it all on one site looking like a downgrade and being passed off by the CEO himself as a need to cost cut has now turned into a 150 acre expansion ? Aye ok !
  12. I remember that although i think it was about 5.5k turned up, all along the front and at one end was netted off so not full capacity.
  13. Came across as a really sound guy at the 'Evening with' event a real placid guy considering how aggressive he was on the pitch. At the end of the day he got about 100 grand a week and a signing on fee to go to Russia, it's also no secret that our billionaire owners owed Barclays 10 million and weren't stumping up. Also Kean was the manager for gods sake so i attatch no blame whatsoever to Chris bailing out. He'd have been shoved anyway sooner or later by Anderson and co.
  14. I don't think they need to build a professional football training complex there in order to give people hope. Something a little more in keeping with what people might actually need would be more the norm. Besides Ewood is about a ten min walk away for anybody who wants to go, a free bus on matchdays might be more suitable than a training complex they won't be allowed to go in. Meanwhile leave the Rovers to train where they are there's no real need for any of this other than somebody in the middle trying to profit.
  15. They play at Ewood that is part of the community it doen't really matter where they train. Surely a part of attracting players is having a nice training ground / Academy in a nice fresh air setting. Also mentally they can concentrate on the job of training away from too many eyes and distractions. Not sure a brownfield site shoved up Whitebirk is the same.
  16. Gallagher ties up a c15k pwk extension but we are expected to believe some of the others are asking for more ? Iv'e backed Gallagher i like him when he's used properly but tying up one who is highest paid before others who are more important to the team isn't a good look. Could we afford to lose Gallys wage in order to put it towards a couple of others pay rises ? Hell yes but it doesn't seem to work that way here and i suspect certain agencies have better sway that others with the powers that be.
  17. I did assume there was more to them buying the STC than just shoving 16 million in generously. This latest rumour if true shows there is more at play in the bigger picture.
  18. We need fans in when it's average and not so good anyone can turn up when things are on the up, hence the pricing IS an issue. A gang who only turn up for the odd big game or promotion charge might be ok with 30 quid as they haven't been buying tickets every week for a decade. Finish 9th this season then ask them to pay 400 for an ST next season or thirty pounds for the first home game against Huddersfield and it isn't happening. Long term gains are needed not short term sticking plaster fixes.
  19. I'l maintain till i'm blue in the face that getting rid of the egos of a lot of those seniors who'd been on the payroll far too long is making a massive difference this season. Young hungry players who want it and want to achieve things AND better contracts rather than a load just turning up for wage. Energy and miles in the legs rather than pacing them and a manager who now doesn't seem more interested in involving them all and is actually after points every game. Points win prizes....and contracts.
  20. Yep so many wrong turns so give up and go down an unmarked street and suddenly you've found the football ground. The signs are always there but some choose try to be clever and navigate their own way there just to say they could, rarely works. Tony has seen the signs finally.
  21. It's the usual story Sharpe says there's nothing in it then an hour later Crooke says there is. Anybody might be forgiven for thinking the word clickbait. Someone is putting names and numbers out there though and that is how it always starts.
  22. So there's nothing in it according to local media both here and in Brighton. Basically though someone has got his name and a price out there to see if there is any real interest.
  23. That is the stupidest thing about it it's a blatant rip off you might understand it if it was Liverpool in the cup. Surely just 25 quid for each would make more sense.
