  1. To go from 25 quid walk on v Swansea to 32 for WBA is the work of a dick pure and simple. Young team really needs support, club really needs fans, most people are a bit fed up of the manager etc, nearly 10k home fans turn up. Then this and that's before selling the main asset and not re-investing. One step forward, two backwards. Dickhead shows what he's all about, 300k a year for this. The man is just guaranteeing his own pay on the back of what's left of the fanbase.
  2. We paid an intial 1.75 rising to 3 million.
  3. Steele is the weakest keeper iv'e seen at Rovers, Walton wasn't much better but at least he was short term. Fettis was just way out of his depth in the Prem but Steele ! Rovers actually paid money for a keeper who couldn't get on the bench for midtable Boro. ( remind us of anything...) Then installed him as number bloody 1 replacing a former England keeper ! You get what you pay for, the fact the very raw and error prone Raya looked so much better immediately says it all. We've finally struck lucky with Kaminsky but we've been deprived of a good steady keeper for years.
  4. So a few thousand home fans stay away but it's ok because you can squeeze a bit more out of 2 or 3 thousand away fans. It's beyond stupid the sooner that fat jerk is gone the better, why not just leave it at £25 quid. Get the same as the first home game, maybe a few more if we are doing ok. And get another few away fans on as well. Thick as pig shit these people i'm sure most of them would be selling cars or on the dole if they hadn't wormed their way into football. Waggot is killing this club.
  5. That's the position they've lead us to though and it's a collective thing. I'm sure he'd have jumped at a payrise 12 months ago but they didn't have the brains to try and tie him down.
  6. It just sounds like typical Venkys only going after potentially better managers when they are embarking on a downscale and there's nothing in the pot. Exactly the same with Lambert after Bowyer that then lead to that desperado Coyle. Utter imbeciles especially after squandering so much on Mowbrays lame attempt at the top ten. That is IF any of this is true. Looking back on Mowbrays words and demeanor last season i'd say it's entirely plausible. Nobody worth their sat will work for this lot though when they aren't being generous. They still haven't learned if you want to bring a good name to Blackburn Rovers you have to pay them and back them. These lot would employ Ricky Tomlinson if he turned up, said he had expercience and would do it for £15 an hour plus free bar tab !
  7. They are the one's who seem to operate on behalf of this club.
  8. Because dumb clubs are letting good players go to them on the cheap.
  9. Managed decline - i think someone already brought it up. They knew crowds were going to take a hit this season for a few reasons (although the main one gets brushed under the carpet by too many ) so they shaved 50k+ pwk off the wage bill overnight. So if questioned by the owners and finance men they just say we've covered the drop. Armstrongs wages already in the budget so that can get reinvested in loans. Not as stupid as they look when it comes to downgrading, it's their area of expertise. 'Oh well it's like this Mr B these crowds are what Blackburn always get in the championship no matter what. Might as well let us cut the cloth, develop youth to sell and save your money in the future unless you can invest 100 mill per season. By the way we'll be looking to extend mine and the managers contracts soon. We believe we are earning it by saving you all this money and bringing in 10 million pound fees.'
  10. It's a lot of goals to lose just to bank 10 million which will go nowhere. However this is where we are at and it looks like the best deal available. Also it frees up another 15k pwk from the payroll so like the Rhodes exit, chances are that some of that is what will be available and nothing else. So what can we get for 5k pwk ?
  11. To officially ask to leave they have to submit a transfer request. That puts the club in an awkward position but also opens up the player to lose out on potential pay offs. All depends how his contract was drawn up though obviously. There might already be a trigger fee that he previously agreed to for all we know.
  12. I think a straight cash deal would suit everybody better i think the manager hinted at that a little bit. No point arguing over a few quid and this and that just pay the price and get it done. It's rare these part exchange deals work out well unless the player himself is dead keen on coming.
  13. Play the under 23's or as many as possible. Rovers 2 Morcambe 0 3,339
  14. That is what winds people up more than anything with hi. Often he just commentates on it, like he's a fan watching it all unfold rather than the fella in the middle of it all calling the shots and rolling the dice. Strange that because other times he tends to end up making it all about himself when there's anything to martyr over.
  15. Some of them certainly have to take a bit of credit for 'character building' a young Jason Wilcox that's for sure 😆 He survived to tell the tale though.
  16. Pretty certain it all hinges on the Armstrong sale the payments for that will pretty much guarantee the extra income needed over the next 12 months. Owners influx will have guaranteed present running costs but there's nothing extra in the pot short term. If they can't or won't put anymore in then there's no room to cover any new deals. This is why we come back everytime to the terrible running of it all. Pissing money into pockets of old favs and silly short term gambles and neglecting the very thing they say they are supposed to be doing. Re-building with youth. If they keep leaving for a few million compo though that guarantees a bit of income, doesn't cost the club new contracts. And you can bet somebody in the middle is doing ok out of it. I wouldn't trust the way these lot run it for a min, i'd rather put it down to just incompetence and not being arsed more than anything untoward. Over the last few years they've proven themselves quite useless.
  17. Cheers, it's looking like it'll be pay on the day for us so hopefully it's available.
  18. Just remember Mowbray was trying to play like this lot last season. Dominate the ball and possession......and lose.
  19. What is the craic with the Millwall tickets did anyone get to the bottom of it ? Official site i gave up on a few years ago. Will there be pay on the day ?
  20. The old heads not right line is one that gets trotted out all the time all over the place. Standard football stuff and they did the right thing leaving him out today. If he's not pleading to play and saying he wants to sign off in front of the fans and say goodbye then we don't need to see him. There'd have been uproar if we'd lost of course but he wouldn't have made much difference if his head isn't in it. Not sure i agree he'd have had a hatrick today but he might well have bagged. Dolans unselfish work though helped the likes of Brereton and Gally. That's not something you associate with Armstrong so we looked like the shackles were off a bit today. Best of luck to him whatever happens now.
  21. Poor for a first game of the season but better than expected in the end today. Dread to think of some midweek games with hardly any walk ons, a few hundred away fans and bad weather meaning loads of ST holder swerve it. My god there'll be 4.5k in there.
  22. Someone mentioned the daft coat of arms on twitter and it got me thinking that it probably kind of points towards BBlings childlike state of mind. I know its been said in jest before but it could be quite close to the truth he's a bit of a spoiled manchild character. Those types are very easy to take advantage of especially if they are good natured. Might explain a few things.
  23. After seeing that today i'd be putting all my efforts into securing some good Center defense back up. Forget anything else for now if you are relying on a young raw team it needs anchoring at the back. Something this manager has never done whilst he has been here and its proved costly time and again. He now has a great chance to address that even if it's only loans. Ayala had his best game today, his ability has rarely been questioned but his desire and fitness quite rightly has. Looked more like what we expect today but no way will he stay fir, neither will Daragh. Wharton needs more time and i'm not really impressed with the prospect of rotating with others. Get proper back up in and concentrate on developing the rest of the side in front of them. That's ho you build teams.
  24. Vital early 3 points and great effort by the boys. Easy to get behind that kind of team and effort. Please stay away from the possession crap and just go out to win games and play football. There was something refreshing about that today.
  25. As predicted the other week Ayala walks straight in.
