  1. It'll be another new low if Bolton end up getting more than us in lge 2 when these restrictions are relaxed !
  2. Medical, reports, signing it all off who knows but maybe things are a bit slower at the min.
  3. Forget Downing for now and just concentrate this window soley on the back line and trying to keep hold of our good players. The back line being prioritised with all available funds is long long overdue.
  4. I don't know why you are papping on about it. Have we been scouting him since Raya left or has his name just dropped and we've gone for it ? Like i said go back and read the thread instead of jumping into posts trying to start a row. Of course there's not been an ongoing keeper situation, i mean it's not the second late close season in succession we've been scrabbling around for TWO senior keepers is it. Poor planning but hopefully we'll come out of it ok, that's my final word on it.
  5. Again missing the point for the sake of it, you've no idea what's behind this keeper signing. If you'd actually read posts back you'd see i and plenty others are cautiously pleased with this potential signing. Doesn't take away the fact there are still concerns regarding the ongoing keeper situation. If you can't grasp that it's your problem but don't come bothering me with sarcasm for the sake of it. Either debate it and except others opinions or scroll post.
  6. Good move for Duffy up there i think he'll do well in the pub league. Still an absolute shithouse though and i hope he flops and they chase him out of Glasgow with sharpened sticks !
  7. I don't think you've taken into account the bigger picture that's been debated relentlessly on here. The fact this keeper situation has been on the cards for a long time way before the lockdown. Silly response really to a valid point when i'd already said certain things can't be helped.
  8. Stevie boy for some unfathomable reason set his target too high for ST sales after putting prices up. He admitted he'd left himself a few hundred grand short of his budget right from the get go so no surprise the easiest of corners get cut. We've done all we can of course !
  9. Maybe but even so my point still stands because it shouldn't have come to this where is the real planning ? We might be better just risking it with a rookie for a few games than signing another duffer because we are desperate. What use another Leutwiler when they can't displace the likes of Walton.
  10. So we are on course to start the season with a rookie kid between the sticks ? Quarantine etc can't be helped but unless we get someone else in i'll stress again it's a very poor show from the management. Hopefully this lad settles in quickly and everyone gives him a chance.
  11. I'd put the Downing money to use elsewhere now he was decent for parts of last season but we can manage without him. If they are going for a transition to youth then prioritise the money for weak areas not luxuries.
  12. True but that's the present day game for you they don't have to ride the tackles and aggression they used to. Besides isn't he just being touted to play with the kids for now ?
  13. Looks can be deceiving sometimes he might be a right hard little git.
  14. There usually has to be one here beyond just not being up to it there's a few examples. Alternatively even if you aren't but the gaffer and lads like you then you can rest easy. I think Mowbray is very fair to most players in terms of getting some sort of action even if they are shoehorned in rather than filling their spot. Maybe he's finally getting ruthless but by stealth waiting for an excuse to freeze out rather than just weild the axe.
  15. Kenny wanted straight up and downers out wide and traditional center forwards but i'm sure Scotty could still have provided and great viable alternative in the squad. That was a manager with a plan and he was sticking too it, rare breed at Ewood these days. They did right by him though he got a good move and went on to do well at top level which shows it was a miracle we managed to hold onto him so long.
  16. I'd have no issues with him as back up left back stroke back up CH. I think defensively he's better than Bell but offers no pace or anything attack wise. Strikes me as the type who wants to play though so he must have something lined up.
  17. When you watch back old vids Sellars came inside an awful lot imo. He was a good tricky winger but didn't always play traditional wide wingers role. Cracking little player one of my all time favs.
  18. Any take or tales on why Delboy has fallen so out of favor after seemingly being one of the clique for a long time ?
  19. Its infuriating people paid thousands per week to coach, manage can't acknowledge that when they can clearly see it. Usually a lad with a bit of pace can dig himself out of a few holes at this level. The Olssons were a prime example of that but iv'e never really seen it in Bell.
  20. This is one of the toughest leagues in Europe mate with games coming at you relentlessly so yes i think it's a step up in some ways. Having said that i'll be pleased with the signing i think he might turn out to be a good one but he'll need time. Main concern is he doesn't go backwards once here as ther've been a few examples of that recently.
  21. The keeper looks like one who would benefit from coming to a club working with other good keepers and coach in order to help the step up. That's where we fall short so it'll be another up and down ride with this lad i reckon.
  22. In defensive situations like one on one or positioning he's not improved 1 bit in his time here. I think look back over the seasons when he's played the amount of times someone has walked past him in the LB position or got their cross in would be far too high. People keep saying he's good back up but i don't think so neither do i think Mowbray sees him as that. I think he looks at him as another of his option players to rotate about given the opposition. That in itself fills me with dread.
