Some odd folk about aren't there? I rem some nutter approaching a couple of lads who drank in the Alex 20 odd years ago on Montague St at 2.00 in the morning. He was on his knees pleading with them to beat him up, so they did. It wouldn't be unique then would it SAS?

Not another rovers fan thinking it's clever to put ones head through a shop window a la Krakow I hope SAS? You are turning into me ES! Your hitherto 'green and pleasant' view of Blackburn appears to be becoming somewhat jaundiced. Far too many of our away fans are an embarrassment to themselves, the club, the town and the rest of us. I go to very few away games now cos of the scum.

Agreed although Emerton can....... but won't! He was at it again last night, his old tricks came to the fore...... a feint inside, a surge down the line and getting half a shoulder past the full back !!!!.............before turning tamely back on himself and allowing the defence to re-form. It really is bloody mystifying and damned frustrating. He must have Hughes etc at their wits end.

Just watched his goal v Basle again and similar to the spurs one it was 'middled' so well that it hardly spun / moved in the air. -
If Feyenoord had scored from one of those late free kicks it would have been like Celtic v MU all over again. If you don't score when you are on top in any game at this level you usually end up suffering for it. Nonda's missed header in particular was abysmal.

That bit I know. What I want to know is why? Its normal practice isn't it to play on sundays for teams that have played in Europe on Thursday? I'm suprised the Prem League let Watford dictate their own terms. Daft thing is that teams that have had a tiring week usually perform below par the following weekend.

Are you a red indian? You sound like Chiefy in the Beano!

You most certainly have Colin! It's just difficult to imagine the others agreeing to BRISA meeting's being scheduled for between Midnight and 2.00am. -
Must say that our players looked jaded and listless. It might have been a professional performance coming away with a draw but Feyenoord were really there for the taking and especially so in the first half hour. Too many players put in poor performances and it appears that injuries to key players and a small squad are taking their toll. In particular Bentley, Zurab, MGP and both strikers could have no complaints if they were dropped next game if we had anything like suitable replacements. The weekends rest * is more than welcome. * btw? Why are we not playing anyway?

Correct Simon! We were totally crap but we got away with it cos Feyenoord are totally crappier. Unfortunately we cannot rely on facing Europe's equivalents of Accy Stanley for much longer!

I'd expect little sense from you given your name. But (patient sigh) ...Sherwood had lots of qualities a strong captain, great playmaker and midfield general.....and the only guy to lift the Prem trophy along with Keane, Vierra and Terry. Just how goods that then? -

1. Mainly through geographical reasons you don't go anyway and there is no problem with that whatsoever. But Fife you are no longer a paying customer so your personal opinion has as much value to the accountants and mgment at BRFC as a chocolate fireguard. 2. Darwen v Chorley, Clitheroe v Fleetwood, Morecambe v Rossendale playing together would hardly fill the JW lower. Who the hell in this day and age would go to watch that? They'll struggle to find a ref soon! Even I'd be off to the pub to watch City v Sheff Utd or whoever. So I'm afraid thats that. Your sentiments are romantic, or fanciful whatever but completely daft as an argument. -

Indeed nothing ever works well when run by committee. -

Now that Tugay is suspended for one game it would indeed be good to have Dunny back .....before sticking him back on the bench until Toogs gets suspended again. -

It's a priviledge to watch him play. His enjoyment of playing the game is plain to see. Best memories after his goals (of course) are 1. when he bamboozles opponents into thinking that the ref has blown by stopping and making as if to catch the ball. 2. Dinking the ball over the media favourite at the time Veron at OT and running around him whilst Veron had not damned clue where he was. 3. His displays of skill and control in friendlies. Watching those clips suggest that we really need to be able to build the midfield around him to allow him to play further up the pitch. His tackle v Spurs confirmed it too! Brian Clough raved about Glenn Hoddle and suggested that although he appeared slow the first yard was in his head. It's undeniable what a great player Hoddle was but with Tugay it's two yards! Players like him turning out for BRFC is pure Fantasy Island stuff and something that we would never have witnessed until Jack W took charge. 'Legends' though they are at ewood our hero's up until the late 90's were Simon G and Mekky , neither me, my mates, my lad or any of us would ever have seen Tugay's quality nor the likes of Shearer, Sherwood, Speedie, Archibald, Hendry, Friedal, Duff et al without JW and thats why I hold such contempt for the drop offs and stayaways who take this for granted nowadays. Enjoy it all whilst you can cos it will not last forever. -

Alternatively if Lancashire was home to just one club............ I admit that it's taking far more time than I initially expected but slowly and surely you are all getting there. Just like 'Highlander'...... There can only be one! -
I partly agree with you except that their highly developed sense of outrage doesn't stop em watching some scratchy El Arabic / Canal (or whatever) coverage in some dingy pub at the end of their street whilst getting severely pissedup does it?

The original 'great white hope'. In truth I do like what little I have seen from Jeffrers, he appears mobile, sharp and intelligent. I can only assume Hughes and his team are employing some sort of sports psychology to make sure that after his failure at Arsenal that he is ready both mentally and physically for the step up to the starting sheet when the call comes. -
Wrong! It just provides a tired and lame excuse for the stay aways (all I'm sure proud possessors of a Premiership 'T' shirt mind ). The lack of Saturday kick offs is a consequence of our successfull season last year and European qualification and progression. It should be seen as nothing other than that and by rights should have resulted in increased attendance. People who have not football deep in their blood are simply growing tired of BRFC eating at the top table. What was 15 years ago deemed as our Shangri-La is now as enthralling as a cup of cold tea for the pretend supporters. Need proof just look in their eyes.
-
Now this is a rum do for sure. For some reason BRFC's newly found ranks of IndoPak supporters who turned up all bright eyed and excited for the match against the Scum did not come this week to watch us play Spurs! Poor John Williams*.... all that hard work for nowt! Wonder whatever could have put em off turning into true BRFC die hards? *.......maybe he should read ICBINF more often.

Check this out...... http://www.statistics.gov.uk/census2001/py.../pages/00ex.asp then this http://www.statistics.gov.uk/census2001/py.../pages/00bw.asp Never mind the origins of the towns population there is still a huge discrepancy in actual size.

How many times do you get the sort of embarrassed and half apologetic look when you get back to the pub and ask people if they have been to the game? I'm always doing it. I asked one such chap yesterday, he said that he used to be 'keen' on Rovers but gave up going 8 or 9 years ago and said he stopped going when they started putting the prices up and that it was too dear, (didn't stop him swilling ale all afternoon did it?) When I asked how much it was now he did not have a frickin clue and when I said that I watched every game for only £20 a game and that he really needed to 'use it or lose it' or BRFC in the the Premiership would be history he said nowt but smiled weakly and moved away. "True colours" springs to mind. I guess he never was much more than a part time glory hunter in the first place but I really do wish we didn't need the spineless, backsliding barstewards so much!
