  1. We saw lots of Villa supporters coaches on the M66 as we were coming back from Watford. I'm pretty sure the team coach would have gone that way too.
  2. They have played two Premier League games so far and an opposition player has been hit with an object, one of their Neanderthals got on the pitch in what looked like an attempt to attack a City player now the opposition bus has been bricked. Hopefully now the world can see what these idiots are really like instead of this great fans bollocks.
  3. It was certainly more Labore than Arte but really who gives a toss. I'm sure the experts will point to the stats but as I have said many times before only one stat matters. We were as good defensively as we have been for a long time and I was critical of Carter and Hyam last week but today they were outstanding. We headed, kicked, blocked and tackled to stop them scoring and I loved it. Special mention for Adam Wharton today too as he had to forego some of his creativity for doing the dirty work. I can't really fault anybody today and although some players were guilty of carelessness at times the immense effort more than made up for it. Tomasson is so astute tactically and he sees situations that are pivotal to being successful. And Hedges goal was terrific as he did some keepy uppies before lashing it in from a ridiculous angle. Also massively well done to Watford for how they handled and contributed to the sad passing of Matt Sillitoe. And also Rovers for their sensitivity and thoughtfulness in presenting Matt's sister with some flowers. I sincerely hope we all agree that today's win was for Matt.
  4. RIP Matt. A ridiculously young age to pass away. Condolences to your family and friends. Hopefully Rovers can get a win tomorrow and dedicate it to Matts memory.
  5. Dolan was hooked after 18 minutes last Saturday so his match fitness was impaired. I'm guessing that is why he played the BCD in midweek.
  6. I really don't want to alarm anyone but on Sunday the appointed referee is Gavin Ward. Personally I think he is in the worst two referees on Select Group 2 and God knows how hw will cope with the new instructions.
  7. That reminds me of the story of Billy Connolly when he was a guest on Parkinson (I think) along with Rod Hull and Emu. Hull made a move towards Billy Connolly and as quick as a flash he said 'if that thing comes near me I'll break its neck and your arm'.
  8. They are but I don't like over playing in the wrong areas. The yards further up field is far less riskier. The stream has gone offline now.
  9. Now 2-2 after we took a 2-1 lead. Their equaliser was a direct result of over playing at the back.
  10. Are you aware it's a good 20-25 minute walk from the station to Vicarage Road.
  11. Ok Ian. There might be a sting in the tail for this game.
  12. I was surprised to hear the chants yesterday but when we played there in the last game of last season there was a party atmosphere before the game and when they were 3-1 up. After the game their anger was palpable and really intimidating. Perhaps it's a hangover from that but yesterday the chanting became vitriolic with 'Gary Rowett, your football is shit' and 'Rowett, Rowett you're a c***' being clearly heard.
  13. The highlighted sentence reads like it has been written by the club. 1875 is a gun to your head, it's as simple as that. The club now have loyal fans over a barrel by making it one of the two criteria for first phases on away tickets and paying £18 for the privilege. I know loyal fans who spend a bit proportion of their income travelling to away games and Rovers are now squeezing another £18 out of them or they risk not getting tickets for some away games. Swag has talked about the financial situation and pressures in the current climate and he has introduced an extra expenditure on supporters. It is absolutely unnecessary and runs the risk of alienating more supporters, something Swag really doesn't seem to give a toss about. The 10% discount in the shop doesn't apply to Macron products and is only available for a three month period.
  14. I refereed in the Central (or Pontins) League for a time and it was really good standard. All the games were played at the home clubs stadiums and invariably had a mix of experience and youth as you say. The competition was usually quite fierce with players at both ends of the age spectrum looking to prove a point. It was a sad day for football when the powers that be decided to scrap reserve leagues and replace them with restrictive age football.
  15. The new Chelsea centre half, Disasi was shocking today as he was last week. Nearly £40m too.
  16. And the Millwall fans really turned on Rowett. I thought Ainsworth would be the first Championship manager to be sacked but I'm hedging my bet now. Once the Millwall fans turn there is a certain inevitability.
  17. Absolute nonsense. Certain aspects of our play has been criticised for sure. But you know what, whisper it but Tomasson himself criticised our inability to deal with long, straight balls.
  18. To be perfectly honest I had no intention of joining 1875 because I couldn't envisage a situation where I would need it. I joined the day after the draw was made as I was pretty sure being a member would be one of the criteria for the first phase of sales. Handing over £36 was galling when I'm certain in my own mind it's just preying on my loyalty. Looking on the bright side it's another reason to dislike Waggott even more 🤣🤣
  19. Great point about Rotherham. Again in theory a season ticket holder and 1875 member could miss out because they were on holiday for our only away match so far.
  20. Tickets are only available on line. How can that be right? Surely it's discriminatory against anybody who doesn't have access to the relevant technology. As a soon to be OAP I'm not totally confident using it and normally drive to Ewood and buy my tickets in person.
  21. If course loyalty should count. In theory somebody could have gone to their first ever away match at Rotherham, be in 1875 and a season ticket holder and be eligible for a ticket whilst a non 1875 season ticket holder who goes to every away game doesn't get one. The 1875 membership is holding a loaded gun to our head and we pay £18 for the privilege. The season before last we had a small allocation for Luton and as well as 1875 and season ticket holder you had to have six away games. Same at Burnley last season when it was two away games for the first phase. Lots of clubs operate a loyalty scheme where you accumulate points for away match attendance. Rovers want to screw an extra £18 out of fans to prioritise allocation.
  22. It's actually 1875 members who joined before August 15th. Rovers had an average of over 1000 following them away last season. Surely a fairer system would be to allocate tickets based on the number of away matches you attended. Instead fans have to pay an extra £18 to join 1875 in order to have a chance of a ticket. What price loyalty eh?
  23. Did anybody hear why Wahlstedt wasn't on the bench yesterday..
  24. Pickering didn't cover himself in glory for his sending off yesterday but he had to come across from left back position to cover for the nomadic Carter and Hyam. Delap was the player they should have been picking up but, as they did too often yesterday they got caught badly out of position. Hopefully Damien Johnson drags them into the video suite tomorrow and shows them where they should have been.
