  1. And another rant whilst I'm still feeling angry. How can he start Nyambe after several weeks out and not playing a game but say that Brereton isn't ready to start despite playing for eighty minutes in midweek. Mowbray is a walking, talking contradiction.
  2. Mowbray once again is happy to deflect his huge inadequacies away by blaming the referee. I didn't hear him mention that we benefited from the referees poorest decision when Van Hecke should have been sent off.I Even after a nights sleep my anger towards Mowbray hasn't subsided. And rethinking some of his decisions why on earth did he bring Hedges on for Buckley and leave Johnson on the bench? This was less than an hour after taking off two players because the were like fishes out of water and having to completely change the shape of the team. Less than an fucking hour............
  3. At half time I would have snatched your hand off for a point but I was disappointed at the final whistle. The real issue for me, once again is Mowbray. How can he get it wrong so many times by playing players out of position in a system that a footballing Einstein would have struggled to understand. We looked disjointed, unbalanced and in truth like the players didn't care. And that is down to Mowbray who just doesn't seem to learn from the numerous times he has done this before by trying to be too clever. Switching to a 4-3-3 and having square pegs in square holes made a difference like you wouldn't believe. The same players who were shockingly bad all of a sudden looked like footballers and got on the front foot. Hopefully we only have six games more of his buffoonery and he sails off into the sunset. I think another few years of him would really be detrimental to this great club.
  4. Did anybody notice Mowbrays tan in his interviews this week? I hear that Dubai is nice this time of year
  5. That says more about the owners and their shocking mismanagement in my view. I have little time for Mowbray but trying to absolve these owners by blaming him is bordering on lunacy.
  6. Some traffic news for anybody who is driving to Coventry tomorrow. https://www.lancs.live/news/lancashire-news/m6-disruption-weekend-just-one-23564075
  7. I'm certain this will be the headline in a few months but with an added hyphen. MOWBRAY RE-SIGNS.
  8. https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/transfer-news/championship-transfers-preston-blackburn-blackpool-23559110 We spent £1m on agents and intermediaries between February 21 and January 22. I suspect a big chunk of this was bringing in loan players. Staggeringly Derby spent £750k - how on earth is that allowed to happen?
  9. Yep. Natural level and all that nonsense.
  10. The really good news is that there were only 170 tickets left as of 9 am today out of an allocation of 2000. Once again the travelling fan's are doing their bit. The big question is will the team and Mowbray. I was impressed with Coventry at Ewood when they came back from two down to draw and were denied, in my opinion a nailed on penalty. There are far to many variables from our perspective to call this but as ever I'll take the scabbiest of scabby 1-0 wins.
  11. Has it been confirmed about Lenihan and Van Hecke being out? I agree about not going up but I really want, in the words of Bowyer to have a really good go. That to me means taking a risk of two, something that Mowbray doesn't do too well.
  12. In truth I don't think anybody wants or expects him to be at his best. We need a goal of two and the meagre return of the rest of the team means he is absolutely our best chance. Statistically the team scoring first in the Championship has something like, from memory an 80% chance of winning. That is one of the main reasons I would start him and and not bring him on when the game could be set. And his presence should give the team and supporters a lift.
  13. I actually agree that Mowbray won't start him but surely the vindication to start him is the fact he played 80 minutes against one of the worlds best teams with seemingly no adverse effect. Had there not been internationals this week I think Diaz would have been wrapped in cotton wool and an excuse offered tomorrow by Mowbray as to why he won't play at Coventry. My point is that Mowbray can't hide behind anything now as his fitness appears to have been proven.
  14. I might be in a minority but I'm happy Diaz played 80 minutes last night. Mowbray has no excuse or reason for not starting him on Saturday now as he has seemingly come through an 80 minute fitness test. It's simple - we need goals and he is our best chance of getting them. For me it will be another nail in Mowbrays coffin if he doesn't start him.
  15. There is something quite evocative about black and white photographs Mark. For our generation it brings back so many memories as there weren't too many people carrying cameras like now so seeing one like this was rare. As you say the Health and Safety police would have a fit seeing something like this.
  16. The lad on the left would have been in trouble when he got home - look at the state of his wellies. 😂😂😂
  17. An alternative way of looking at the away goal drought, as said to me at Reading is that it's been over 2400 miles since we last scored a goal on the road.
  18. And I don't think the cost of living rises will be factored in by Waggott at all. Football will simply become too expensive for many and clubs like ours will need to be creative simply to keep their current season ticket holders. I spoke to a bloke at Accrington yesterday who, under their early bird scheme paid £179 for his senior ticket. I know several Fan's Forum members and if Waggot t uses them as a yardstick he is sadly mistaken. The ones I know will go irrespective of cost as they are in a position to afford it. He needs to speak to fans who are on the bread line and ask them what it would take for them to buy tickets. I don't for one second believe he will though. The legacy of Covid will still be used as an excuse when explaining another downturn in season ticket sales.
  19. I went to watch Accrington yesterday and in terms of foresight and generating money they are streets ahead of us. I spoke to several season ticket holders who have already bought season tickets for the 22-23 season in an early bird scheme, there was pre match entertainment in the fan zones which were well populated, all hospitality is sold out for the rest of the season in the terrific new sports bar and they were advertising a boxing event for this afternoon. It's just being creative and understanding what will bring in extra revenue and giving the fans what they want. There is a car park behind the away end and they ask for donations only to park there. The game wasn't too good but it's eye opening to see what a small club can do but their big neighbours can't.
  20. Mowbray is going to have to refashion the team as we stand to lose around the players from the squad. From that perspective alone surely a new manager could bring in a good number of new players who fit his style and way of thinking.
  21. Five of the bottom seven are either in or challenging for a playoff place. I think such a table would be more at home in the PL but in the Championship it's more of a level playing field from a purely football only perspective. I really believe that a far bigger factor is the management team on and off the field and standard of coaching.
  22. The question of moving the game and putting pressure on the FA has just been brought up in PMQ's. Johnson tried his usual unfunny remark basically saying I couldn't give a toss. The question included a comment about the environment and the emissions from thousands of cars making a 400+ mile round trip. The FA are supposed to be guardians of the game but in truth, as you say the money from a sell out Wembley trumps anything else.
  23. I always think supporters who say we are over achieving just lack ambition and are in a comfort zone, happy to be mid table plodders. More than likely people who hide behind stats after every defeat and take Mowbrays word as Gospel.
  24. 5.5 from me. The way he has handed out lengthy contracts to average, older and simply not good enough players has cost this club a fortune. I also believe that his over thinking and over complicating tactics has cost us a lot of points but I will counter that with some games where his in play decisions have gained us points but the deficit of points lost is far greater. However by far his biggest failing is not bringing in the right type of player in January when we were second in the league and will not, in my opinion get a better chance to get automatic promotion. Two of three players of the right ilk would have got us over the line but in his infinite way he didn't think so. The promotion he took us too gets him some credit but in all honesty with the players at his disposal for that level of was fully expected. Mowbrays time will generally be remembered by me as better that the likes of Ince, Kean and Coyle but way short of the likes of Don Mackay, Bob Saxton and Jim Smith.
  25. Lenihan's injury will give Mowbray another excuse to take to India in the summer in his quest for a new deal.
