You'll only be 50% disappointed. -

Anybody expecting Dack to start is going to be disappointed again. It's incredible that we could be in a playoff position at 4.55 pm after the wretched, awful results of the last few months. Conversely we could be 11th. And that to me will be the story of the season, a season that promised so much but ultimately failed us all miserably. Is your glass half full of half empty? 😁😁😁 -
Yes I see it that way too. It's akin to Ferguson who ruled the roost in pretty much every area of the club and became untouchable, invincible almost. The previous owners perhaps were prepared to give him that kind of latitude because they understood his value to the club.
-
I firmly believe that if he gets on the plane to India he will get a new deal simply because these owners don't have the bollocks to sack him face to face. The whole club needs exorcising with the cabal of Mowbray, Venus, Waggott and Pasha confined to the history books. I would include the owners in that list if there was a realistic chance of them going.

Where I was there were quite a few 'get behind team' types who were clearly looking to argue with anybody who had the temerity to criticise Mowbray or any players. But on Peterborough station and on the train after the game it was pretty unanimous that he has run his course and needs to go. -
There is some suggestion in an article in The Athletic that Dyche's popularity had waned and his training methods were not to the liking of several senior players. And on one of their message boards quite a few are saying that behind the scenes he wasn't too popular with the non football staff being described as rude to them. I still can't believe the timing of this and the fact he recently signed a new, bumper deal along with his staff. Have you heard anything longsiders?

What really got to me today despite the idiotic Edun was the lack of intensity and tempo. At times I thought it was walking football and it was relatively easy for Peterborough to play against. I (perhaps naively) thought we would press high up the pitch and put struggling Peterborough under pressure, much like we did during our excellent run but it just didn't happen. In fairness though we were really dropped in it by Edun who took two of the softest yellow cards you are likely to see, the second of which was from his awful first touch giving the ball away. I was amazed he was starting after being out for nearly three months and, to my knowledge not playing a game. And why was Nyambe taken off again to enable us to go to a back four? Giles has been shocking for us and, one cross apart showed nothing But he went to left back, a position Wharton could comfortably have filled. But that's Mowbray all over and one of the reasons we have capitulated so, so badly. -
Stone and Woan have gone too. From that you have to think they have somebody lined up. It might be one of: Allardyce Coyle Kean Laws Ternant Warnock 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I just checked the date to see if tis April 1st. That is sheer lunacy and makes our owners decision to sack Allardyce almost rational. I wonder if they would be interested in Mowbray? 😂😂😂 -

Somebody should show this to Waggott and advise him that this is the best approach to try and garner support from the local youngsters. -

https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2022/april/14/-it-s-a-proud-moment-for-me-/ Ryan Nyambe plays his 200th game for us tomorrow. -
I remember watching the trial updates every day Andy and seeing what those horrible little t***s did subsequent documentaries left a profound impression on me about intolerance and hate. I recall Mrs Lancaster saying she thought they did it because they were jealous as Sophie and her boyfriend were different, not the cloned, tracksuited, baseball cap wearing her killers were.

https://news.sky.com/story/sylvia-lancaster-mother-of-20-year-old-sophie-who-was-murdered-for-dressing-as-a-goth-dies-suddenly-12588883 Not a celebrity in the true meaning but a lady who fought for what is right and just after her daughter was literally kicked to death in Bacup. I saw several documentaries and dramas and her courage and determination was terrific. RIP Mrs Lancaster.

Bruce has answered for me. My understanding was that to stop anything underhanded the player going off can't play in a game or for a period of time after. Also Blackpool could have legitimately made a fourth change themselves as a kind of levelling up. -

Has it been confirmed that Scott Wharton is available for Friday as we used a concussion substitute on Saturday after his head injury. We had a similar situation at Huddersfield when Nyambe went off with concussion as I recall was mandated to miss the next match at Blackpool. I have checked the FA and EFL websites and there is nothing specific about missing games following being substituted for concussion. -

You should forward that to ltalbot@rovers.co.uk and if she can't deal with it ask her to send it on to somebody who can. It sounds expensively appalling. -
Premier League season 21/22
arbitro replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Isn't the last week why we all find football compelling. After that lot beat Everton on Wednesday and factoring in their relative weekend fixtures I really envisaged them being clear of the bottom three. Nevertheless I am delighted that they are still cut adrift, have lots of players out of contract and owners who don't have a clue. Sounds familiar doesn't it. Will there be Stars and Stripes in evidence when we play them next season? 😂😂😂😂 -
We said similar yesterday. He is rapidly getting a reputation for going down too easily as evidenced on a few occasions yesterday. I know for a fact from my time that when referees meet one of the things they discuss is teams and individual players. I would imagine Brereton is one of those spoken about.
-
It's curious how Damien Johnson appears to have been ostracised by Mowbray. At one time he had a decent presence in the Technical Area but I can't remember the last time I saw him not sat down. Instead we have Benson showing the oncoming substitutes the flip charts (btw what the fuck is that all about) on the touchline. In fact it was funny yesterday when one of the substitutes was ready to come on. The board went up, the player was ready and Benson appeared to show him diagrams of who knows what. It only delayed the change for a few seconds but once again it looked Blackburn Sunday League level.

I will never forget (or forgive) the Cheston comment when Coyle was appointed. 'Outstanding candidate' was how he described him. That appointment alone cost the club hundreds, if not thousands of season ticket sales, for some of whom it was the final straw and they have never gone back. -
I forgot to add that a few in the JW Upper (yes the JW Upper) were trying to get 'Tony Parkes' Blue and White' army going which would have been nice for him had it caught on.
-
There were a few moist eyes round where I sit too. I thought back to the teams Tony played in and how he managed (and saved us) in his caretaker roles. It's so sad to see him like this but yesterday it was great to see him looking happy and enjoying the well deserved adulation. A proper Rovers legend.
-
It's typical Mowbray. As he led the dressing room revolt against Derby at half-time he has now been side lined as have a few in the past. Mowbray and his I know best ego was well and truly deflated that night and in his eyes Johnson was the cause. And also where is Davenport? Not in recent squads and I've seen no mention of him from our leader.

A little cameo yesterday summed up the current Rovers to me. Wharton had gone off and we were a man down. Lenihan moved across to cover Whartons absence but nobody dropped in to right back. For the next phase Blackpool saw an opportunity and attacked our right side and we were all over the place for a short while. At the next juncture he put Buckley at right back but it alarmed me that such a basic thing was overlooked by our leader and his cohorts.
