The re-invigoration of BRFC
arbitro replied to darrenrover's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
What a childish thing to say. -
I've been saying the same for months now. A new manager needs time to assess he squad, look at potential new signings and plan pre season. Waiting until the end of the season is too late. In truth I really don't think it will happen and Mowbray will be allowed to meander through to the end of his contract. And who knows, under the current structure he's likely to get another deal.

The re-invigoration of BRFC

Darrenrover is to be applauded for doing this and create something which we all know is missing. It's galling for me when somebody is giving their own time and effort only for something negative to be written. It's an initiative we should all get behind, even it it's only saying something appreciative. Well done Nick. -
Blackburn Rovers vs Brentford, Friday, March 12.

The result, performance and poor management issues were put to one side by me as I saw Dack being stretchered off with a serious knee injury. He is, for me our best player and his misfortune to get another serious injury so soon after his first one is devastating. I really wish him well. The main talking points for me was the inconsistency of the referee. To be consistent the game should have had no penalties or three and in that respect we can feel hard done to. His cautions were also randomly issued with nothing fouls receiving a yellow card with reckless and technical fouls getting nothing. It was a really bad night for Rovers and the ramifications of the Dack injury could run deep in our quest to stay out of a relegation scrap. -
One of my major irritations with him is when he 'reminds' us how long he has been in the game. It's his condescending way of telling us he knows best, doing his utmost to accentuate the myth that unless you've played the game professionally you know nowt.

Playing between the lines. Good in transition. False nine. High line. Inverted wingers. These are just a selection of hip sayings used by the modern football men. I just prefer the game without all this tosh which I think are used to try and impress us mere mortals. -

Where has that description come from? It's that stupid, insulting and patronising it could have been written by Mowbray himself. -
Brockhall STC - planning permission application ?
arbitro replied to Mattyblue's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Probably the aspect of all this that irks me most is who the f*** does Waggott think he is. He has been pretty much a disaster in his tenure with a litany of failure in almost everything he has done. He has imposed two price increases on loyal fans, closed sections of the ground, introduced an unfair levy on match day tickets and managed to decrease the supporter base amongst others Trying to blag us with this by talking about 'improvement' is an insult to us all, even the ones who think it's going to benefit Rovers. I would ask anyone who agrees with Waggott to list the potential improvements for everybody to see. So far he has come up with 'all on one site' and 'the manager can walk across a pitch or two to watch the kids train'. The ideal scenario is that this project crashes and burns and Waggott, out of embarrassment leaves and goes back to Gillingham or whichever backwater club will have him. -

On the downside though Keith Andrews will probably be pointificating (sic) in the studio. -

Waggott actually said that the money brought in by the sale of the STC would all be used in the Academy development and was at pains to point out that the owners may need to be approached for more money if needed. I personally wouldn't trust him and this could be a tactic to cover anything illicit from him and his cohorts but for me it added to the mystique of why they are doing it. The cost, upheaval and many other things massively outweigh the benefits he spoke of which are flimsy at best. -

Some great memories here - thanks Gav. I noticed there is only fifteen players on the first team squad picture. Compare that to the mega sized squads we see now. -

Anger from the residents of Brockhall Village. https://www.lancs.live/news/lancashire-news/campaigners-say-blackburn-rovers-development-19953691 Waggott has said that the money from the sale of the STC would fund the development of the current Academy site, in fact the owners might have to be approached to stump up more cash if needed. So really what is the point of all the upheaval? The only positive suggestion from Waggott was that the manager could walk across couple of pitches to watch the youngsters train. It's a two minute drive or five minute walk. -
Buckley is a player for me. I formed that opinion early on after seeing him play for the under 23's. His ability to ghost past opponents and play on the half turn are natural traits and something that should improve over time. Of course he needs to sharpen up some aspects of his game but I haven't seen anything that a good coach can't work on with him to make him better. My real doubt is the standard of the current coaches.

Swansea 9th March at Home
arbitro replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Another really good performance on the back of the Millwall match and one in which we can feel hard done to for not getting three points. Once again, in my view the catalyst was young Dolan who is leading by example with a huge appetite for hard work to go with his unquestionable skill. His infectious attitude seems to be rubbing off on others as once again we are pressing high up the pitch and not allowing our opponents any time on the ball, so much so that the service to Lowe and Ayew was virtually non existant. I'm actually frustrated at the moment as this way of playing seems to have been sidelined for a few months in favour of a more laboured, predictable style of play, in my opinion costing us several points in the process. And this is on Mowbray for me. -

I enjoyed our performance which was reminiscent of ur early season matches with an energy, intensity and high press which has been missing for months. And the catalyst for me was Dolan. The example he set was inspirational in my view, particularly in a position I didn't think he would excel in. However from a manager perspective it doesn't change my view in any way. In fact in a strange way it strengthens my view as for a few months we have been inept and timid and that has be laid at Mowbrays door for me.

Championship Season 2020 - 2021
arbitro replied to Hoochie Bloochie Mama's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I can put that notion to bed straightaway. I speak to Keith several times a week and believe me he has never ever met or spoke to any of the current crop of Championship referees. It's actually over 25 years since he retired and I am the only ex or current referee he speaks to. Warnock will look at any aspect, however bizarre and tenuous after a defeat. I actually spoke to him after yesterday's game and he laughed at Warnocks nonsense. By the way Warnock son is an agent but that doesn't mean he gets the pick of his sons clients. -
Nothing Mowbray does surprises me now. I don't like the saying 'he's lost the plot' but I really think it sums him up.
-
Nyambe dropped again because his numbers are high or in other words he is working too hard for Mowbrays liking. And if I am correct JRC has only had one under 23 game since returning from injury. Absolute disgraceful treatment of Nyambe by Mowbray.
-
I just don't see where any goals will come from without Armstrong. He has more goals himself than the other four have together.
-
I can almost hear Del Boy now in Mowbrays interviews - 'this time next year we'll be millionaires'. It's an insult to every Rovers fan how he is trying to manipulate the owners through the media. Surely successful business people can see through bluff and bluster..................... Perhaps not then.
-
I too think we will have enough to stay up but the thought of being in a scrap worries me. The real fear for me is next season when we will have a squad of which half could be new players whilst still stuck with the likes of Ayala. That could really be a relegation fight from day one. I'm sure in my own mind though that Mowbray will still be the head honcho.
-
He played in a league game for their under 23 team. My understanding is that you can't be registered for two clubs unless it's a loan deal.
-
I didn't think you can play for another club whilst under contract, even as a trialist. We can't loan him out either as the window is closed. The only option I believe is terminating his deal.
-
He played for their under 23's on Monday against West Brom. He was named on the official team sheet but down as 'trialist' on the PL website. A friend was at the game and said he played well. For him to be having a trial elsewhere we must have cancelled his contract and paid him up.
