  1. What about the young keeper we took from Everton? I've only seen him once but he looked assured and dominant.
  2. Dack was angry yesterday, much more than anybody else. In the second half, right in front of the Rovers fans he showed his frustration by gesturing angrily after another attacking move broke down due to a poor decision. He then got himself booked for hacking down a Nobber. If more players showed that attitude we might have had a chance. Some of them didn't appear to be hurting by what happened.
  3. I didn't see Bennett get booked. If he was it's his fifth and he'll miss the next game.
  4. In the first half we pressed quite high all over the pitch and knocked them out of their stride. In the second half we were ten yards deeper which allowed them to go longer and win second balls. We simply invited pressure and allowed them to bully us. What made us change? If might have been Mowbray or the players themselves but Mowbray was so passive in the dugout I'm inclined to think he was happy. At 2-1 Travis was stripped and ready to come on but them scoring the penalty changed that. So at 2-2 Mowbray then appeared content as the change didn't happen but the majority could see we needed fresh legs. It's just another damning condemnation of Mowbrays management style how he dithers and is indecisive.
  5. Maybe I misread it Matty but I thought the majority of boos were aimed at the referee who was making his way off.
  6. And some of the protesting Rovers fans were spat on and threatened by those holding different views.
  7. Pretty much yes. The 'get behind the team' brigade.
  8. You have to do what it takes to win the game. Mowbray is stuck in a time warp and his holier than thou nonsense interviews tell us this. Neil was brave and made a decision to go three up front and direct to Stockley. Kudos to him for that, I'm struggling to think when (of if) Mowbray has radically changed anything and got us a result. The fact we have only come from behind in the Championship once during his tenure to win speaks volumes.
  9. Travis was ready to come on just before the penalty. The substitute card was given to the fourth official and Travis was stripped. The penalty being scored changed their thinking. That was in the 65th minute. He waited until they scored their third before bringing Graham on in the 84th minute. I can't understand why he didn't bring Travis on at the time of the penalty as we were being battered and we needed fresh legs or a change in the system.
  10. I will grudgingly give Neil praise today for his extremely brave move after about twenty minutes by taking off his playmaker and bringing on an extra forward who was instrumental in Nobbers winning the game. First half it was like we had signed a few new players as we started on the front foot and deservedly took a two goal lead but the talk at half time was how important the next goal would be. Step forward Wally Walton who gifted them a goal. The writing was on the wall from then I'm afraid. Yes we should have had a penalty, yes we were naive but football is about results and they aren't good enough and that is Mowbrays responsibility. Mowbray was really subdued today and it was around 43 minutes when he first stood up and then it was to berate the fourth official. Similarly in the second half he was rarely on his feet. There was something really odd about that. With two tough games coming up he was like a man walking the Green Mile.
  11. II think you are right about Dack dropping deep but for me it's borne out of frustration. He can go for long periods in some games without touching the ball due to the inane possession based football his manager wants to play. The slow and boring passing along the back line and occasional pass into midfield frustrates most of us and Dack doesn't seem to be an exception.
  12. He should strive to pick a team that encompasses all three but his signings have curtailed that. Once again he is digging himself a big hole with his 'I know best' interviews.
  13. I believe the truth is that Mowbray will be the master of his own destiny primarily down to the lack of structure and weakness above him. And the real worry is that he knows that and is working under no pressure. I still think he is a decent person and that might be the one thing that convinces him that he has taken us as far as he can and and he walks. I don't think that is likely to happen for some time get though.
  14. He has given the players the perfect excuse to lose the game with total impunity with a caveat of as long as they try. He should be kept away from microphones.
  15. The vast majority of Rovers fans expect a defeat whilst the Nobbers I know are predicting a comfortable win. I'm with the majority and expect a dithering Mowbray to make changes to personnel and tactics for the starting eleven and with every substitution. If what I believe will happen does then it needs every Rovers fan to let Mowbray, his staff, Waggott and the players to know in no uncertain terms that what they are giving us is completely unacceptable. The time has come for the aforementioned to accept their responsibilities and earn their huge wages.
  16. https://www.wigantoday.net/sport/football/wigan-athletic-boss-paul-cook-on-the-future-of-happy-loan-star-charlie-mulgrew-1-10066457 An interesting article on Mulgrew. Cook mentions there are 'options' open for him in January.
  17. I wasn't sure hence the question mark. I don't remember Lowe doing any coaching under Coyle. I have a recollection of him coaching was Mowbrays first game.
  18. How on earth can a player be ruled out 48 hours before a match with a slight hamstring twinge. Two days is a long time for the healing process of professional athletes. More nonsense from Mowbray.
  19. Wasn't it Mowbray who promoted Lowe and Dunn when he arrived? Lowe is an ex teammate of Mowbray and Venus from Ipswich you'll be surprised to hear.
  20. I'm not sure where to put this but it was a potential transfer. Sorry if this offends some as it could be a stark reminder of where we were versus the current malaise. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/11843087/how-blackburn-rovers-almost-bought-robert-lewandowski
  21. We have been a ticking time bomb since the summer with Mowbrays reluctance to bring in the type of defenders that we have lacked in his tenure. We were always going to be an injury or two away from becoming a poor team. Also I think a lot of the players are simply not able to deliver the quick passing game that Mowbray craves. His excuse this week of having a few different styles of play was frankly nonsense or even if we do we are inept at most of them. It's completely different doing drills on the training pitch to carrying it out in an intense Championship match. My personal feeling is that Mowbray has over complicated things and expects players to do something that is quite alien to most of them. I sincerely hope I'm wrong but the writing is on the wall and if the warning signs are ignored we could well be relegated.
  22. It is about opinions. The ineptitude of his teammates didn't cause him to give the ball away cheaply on several occasions, be regularly beaten in the air and out muscled far too often. In my book he was up there with the worst last night and has done nothing of note so far to give me any indication he will be a big player.
  23. In respect of the signing of Aradabioyo I thought he would be able to play a quick passing game given his background but he was one of the worst last night. So many times his (and many others) not being able to play a simple the yard pass put us under more pressure. He is physically weak and in all honesty no better than Wharton or Magliore. He reminds me of a new born horse whose legs look wobbly when it takes its first few steps.
  24. I was angry at many aspects of the game last night but what pissed me off more than anything was the number of people who clapped the players at the end of the game. I looked around and it wasn't the odd one, there were lots. Mowbray scuttled off down the tunnel.
  25. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/17983914.mowbray-feels-rovers-making-progress-season/ I find this another irritating and patronising Mowbray interview. We are generally boring to watch and the possession based football he talks about is in areas where the opposition are happy for us to have the ball. Laughably he credits Holtby for his part in our new way of playing. He has started one game and even then he got the hook. I have seen every game this season and have usually seen mundane, tedious play where possession is usually along the back line, into midfield and back again.
