  1. I have no desire to prolong this but you should have added 'in my opinion' after the first sentence.
  2. Do you believe Cheston was forced to say those things? If you really believe that then that's up to you. Personally I believe he said them of his own volition really believing they were true. Meanwhile in the real world the majority knew we were only going in one direction. Irrespective he owed it to the fans to justify the comments when we got relegated.
  3. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/14620710.owen-coyle-proving-why-he-was-the-right-appointment-for-blackburn-rovers-says-director-mike-cheston/ I suggest you read the quotes from Cheston. He says they definitely made the right appointment. As somebody said earlier that appointment set us back by a few years and potentially cost us millions. No recourse for Cheston though who is happy to take his large salary.
  4. I don't know if you are defending him or not in that reply as I can't make sense of it. Cheston is on record as describing him as the outstanding candidate.
  5. But Cheston said Coyle was the outstanding candidate.
  6. The two articles kind of sum up where we are as a football team. His contradictory nature on tactics, style of play etc are one of the reasons we struggle in my opinion. Now his contradiction in two back to back interviews are apparent. No wonder the players look confused at times. Was it the American TV programme called Soap that used the strapline "Confused - you will be........."
  7. Bamba is reputedly one of the names strongly being linked to the Cardiff managers job in South Wales.
  8. I think his next move will be to the Sky sofa. He's pretty much done with management.
  9. I was told in confidence early yesterday but that he was going of his own volition. He was in the dressing room for a long while after yesterdays game and Sky thought he was bollocking his players. He wasn't, he was saying his goodbyes.
  10. And his 'project signings' get away unscathed despite scoring two league goals between them and costing £12m. I thought Gallagher was ridiculously poor on Saturday. Before the hour mark he was blowing out of his arse. Both are physically (and likely mentally) weak.
  11. I think you are spot on. The autonomy he has is is frightening. Mowbray talks about how long he has been in football and understands the machinations of it but then he talks about not being worried about results. Blackburn Rovers success, both on and off the field is determined by results and he comes out with pure nonsense like that. It's a sad indictment of where we are at the moment.
  12. This interview should be the tipping point for anybody who still backs him. He is talking about results with this quote. “Is it a concern? I judge the team on their performance levels,” Mowbray told the Lancashire Telegraph. Hopefully he understands if you lose too many games you get relegated. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/politics/quicktest/18027479.is-concern--rovers-boss-mowbray-recent-results/
  13. I think anybody who believes we won't be in a relegation scrap is either deluded or has fallen under Mowbrays spell. I predicted a battle against relegation before a ball was kicked and I have seen nothing (apart from spells in some games) to change that. Mowbray just can't get any more out of this bunch despite lots of personnel changes, different formations and tactics.
  14. So he brought Evans on to capitalise on the nervousness. He really should think before speaking.
  15. I'm still perplexed at that decision. 2-1 down and needing a goal he brings on arguably our most defensive midfielder. The people around me were all commenting on the bewildering decision from Mowbray. I can see Rothwell moving on in January.
  16. I know Gareth and saw him outside Griffin Park in the aftermath of the Venky/Cheston induced relegation. I asked him about managing Rovers and he said he wasn't even invited for an interview as they chose Coyle (who seemingly was the outstanding candidate). He was with his young son and daughter who both had Rovers shirts on. He didn't sound bitter about the snub from his boyhood ckub. Personally I think he would come here but the absolute reality is that Mowbray is going nowhere.
  17. The second half was played without an assistant referee covering one half of the field. Unprecedented at that level.
  18. I thought the scoreline flattered us and Mowbray is trying to spin a 2-1 loss into some kind of moral victory. Leeds were streets ahead of us all over the pitch. They had pace, purpose and intensity, all of which Mowbrays team massively lack. He is clutching at straws by blaming the referee (who was weak but not the reason we lost) and he should be looking closer to home. Armstrong and Gallagher were our two worst players but the former seems to be a favourite and the latter a waste of space. I couldn't underground his tactics today as we would press and then stand off which happened randomly and time and time again. We allowed Leeds players to travel long distances with the ball too often and their goals came from that type of situation.I With the international break coming up Mowbray has a big of respite but a huge game against Barnsley up next. I bet when he was spouting his to six bollocks he didn't think Barnsley at home would be a massive, must win game.
  19. Well done to the Macclesfield first team players who have made it public that they won't be playing today and the team will essentially be made up of the youth team. Reading between the lines it seems like the club weren't going to go public with this. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/36067/11857879/macclesfield-town-to-play-fa-cup-tie-vs-kingstonian-despite-first-team-strike
  20. I think if he goes all defensive and we sit off then we will lose Matt. Generally away from home we don't press and that's the real worry for me. The best three performances of last season were when we pressed but these were at home (Leeds, West Brom and Derby). Mowbray really needs to understand that we need to stop Leeds playing.
  21. I don't mind your football postings - it was the hoolie stuff that bored me ?. Hopefully you will be quiet tonight.
  22. I think our very best chance of a result today will be by pressing high up the pitch and throwing Leeds out of their stride. This was typified in last season's game at Ewood when we played exceptionally well and pressed them with intensity. Their passing game is so important to them and I don't believe that Bielsa really has a plan B.
  23. Bloody he'll CP Company man, how arrogant is that statement. A chunk of the money you pay goes to the extra security needed because some of your 'fans' can't behave themselves.
  24. That applies to anybody in the public eye who voices an opinion. If you are a sensitive soul then you are in the wrong game.
