Season Tickets (inc. Renewal Poll)
arbitro replied to Stuart's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I too got a 'wish you were here' holiday type postcard. The PR machine must have burnt the midnight oil thinking that one up. There was no mention of prices on the postcard neither. At one time they sent a pack out with every base covered such as direct debit forms. -
Summer transfer window 2021.

Mowbray is doing what he does best - absolving himself from any blame as he sees the writing on the wall. He has never once accepted any culpability in the mess Rovers have become for a large part of his tenure. He is a self serving, egotistical pillock and I just wish he would piss off away from my club. -
https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11676/12367576/ben-brereton-from-blackburn-rovers-to-facing-lionel-messi-with-chile Finally the media have recognised one of the Summers best stories. There is an honest admission from Brereton about his disappointing form for his first two years here.

Don't they make such a simple process difficult. I find it incredible that clubs in our locale can shift many more than us and have a slicker operation to do so. Some fans could well be put off by such hassle and just not bother. It's symptomatic of what Rovers have become. -
Without a shadow of a doubt. Mowbray talked yesterday about 'managing' Ayala which is incredible really when you consider he gave Ayala a three year deal and is one of the highest earners. Mowbrays rationale last season for Ayala's prolonged absence was the intensity in which we play and he wasn't used to it and was picking up injuries. So he committed the club to a huge amount of money for a player who struggles to play the way we want to. Only in the warped world of Mowbray. Note: I really struggled to write that without mentioning ex Boro.
-
I don't think Ayala can play in a three. Mowbray saw similar deficiencies in Ward and had to play a deeper back four to accommodate his lack of pace and turning ability as he was worried about forwards running in behind.

https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11796/12366284/motherwell-chief-executive-alan-burrows-on-well-in-scheme-that-puts-community-at-the-heart-of-the-club A good read on Motherwell who value and appreciate every supporter. They are a fan owned club led by a forward thinking CEO and some of the initiatives puts clubs like ours to shame. I never thought I would envy Motherwell but I do. FOW. -
Keeping the ads and paying £3 monthly wouldn't be a problem for me if it went to the betterment of the site. And paying money would deter some of the knobs who join with the sole aim of being antagonistic.

Watford had a striker stretchered off last night in a game at Stevenage. I wonder if this will hasten Armstrong's departure. -
It was the norm then to see players out in local pubs and clubs knocking them back. Every Saturday night would see a group of players in the Cav VIP lounge and they would always have the time of day for us.

RIP. Ally was technically gifted footballer but didn't really hit any great heights with us. 63 is really no age.

It is Andy but the Jimmy not the John variety (although they were both masters of the dark arts). As a kid it would have been enormously beneficial to Mark and a better football education than any Academy could have given to him.
-
I remember many years ago Mark did an interview with the LT and mentioned playing at Blacksnape and in particular one player who he described as the animal. I narrowed it down to one person and asked Mark if it was indeed the one who I thought it was. He flatly denied this but I still think I was right and Mark was fearful of the animal finding out. 😁😁😁
-
Thanks for the information on Marks upcoming book Andy. Now I would say that it should be a must read for Rovers fan's of a certain generation particularly for us Darreners.

The 'newly purchased' lighting rigs were bought from Watford FC. The aim of raising between £3.5 and £4m from season tickets sales is pie in the sky and this should have been hammered home to Waggott. Offering value for money? Based on what exactly? Far too many 'look into it' answers from the people who should have immediate answers.

Summer transfer window 2021.

Two years ago (I think) we paid some business consultants a reported £750k to give their recommendations on the non football side of the business. After the recent accounts and Venkys putting in another Kings ransom it appears it was money well spent. 😠😠😠 -
Summer transfer window 2021.
arbitro replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Less than two weeks to go and zero, zilch, nothing in terms of new signings. I said it before and will say again that I really don't expect anybody of consequence in before August 7th. The modus operandi of Venkys will be picking up scraps, desperados and kids from PL clubs who will add to the numbers rather than improve the quality. Without trying to sound melodramatic I really fear for the future of our club in its current guise. -

https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/vaccine-passports-football-matches-coming-24610700 I'm not sure which thread is the best but this one seems appropriate. -
I thought it was really strange that Lowe did the post match interviews rather than Venus. It's another sign to me that all isn't well with two thirds of the Coventrio.

I went to Bradford today and the performance aside the real worry for me was what Armstrong and Rothwell did after being substituted. Neither sat with the other players and staff on the bench but instead walked half the length of the pitch and sat on the steps outside the changing room well away from everybody else connected with Rovers. Now I might be reading too much into it but it really looked like neither of them wanted to be there. Anybody championing Chapmans cause will be in for a shock. He was our worst player today, that really is saying something in a sea of mediocrity.

The sad story of Keith Treacy
arbitro replied to Paul Mellelieu's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
There was an excellent documentary last week about Family Courts which are coming in for increasing criticism. Somebody in my family had the misfortune to go the the turmoil and emotional trauma these places can bring. Ultimately it worked out well but seeing the tension and worry they can bring affected many, many people. Some of the people involved have been to hell. https://www.channel4.com/press/news/torn-apart-family-courts-uncovered-dispatches -

Wages and salaries up by £3.2m from 2019 to 2020? Is that the whole business or just the playing side? If the former it's even more questionable as most of the non playing staff were on furlough. -
Kit supplier and sponsor from 21/22
arbitro replied to alex l's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
That's my favourite all time kit Tyrone. I know we live in different times but it beauty is it's simplicity and no manufacturers or sponsors logo. They did retro versions of the older shirts which were sold in the club shop and they were actually 100% cotton. -

A competent Chief Executive would have addressed that long ago. Mowbrays control and autonomy has allowed this to go unchecked with the awarding of contracts to players who should have been shown the door. It's a amazing how a club like Millwall with smaller crowds than us can manage their finance, not worry about P&S and still finish above us, even flirting with the play-offs.
