  1. Is that on an individual basis of a group policy? Also does the insurance cover them from the time the rare injured?
  2. I can't remember who it was but it was said that Mowbray and Mulgrew had a full on shouting match during training on the morning of deadline day. By late afternoon he was gone. This was despite him signing a contract extension until June 2021 several months before.
  3. I'm a realist and the reality is that as a club we are screwed. I know you don't see it that way and that's your prerogative but financially we are in ruins. We owe £180m and are on the cusp of either a points deduction and transfer embargo. Having to pay Mulgrews full wage will add to that.
  4. I actually meant the powers that be Jim. I gave up trying to second guess happenings from Ewood some time ago.
  5. The plot thickens............... Does anybody at all have any idea what is happening at Rovers?
  6. Middlesbrough are two down after fifteen minutes at Spurs with both goals coming about through trying to play out from the back. Woodgate seems as deluded as some of his fellow smoggies ???.
  7. Thanks but finance isn't my strong point. Quite simply are the total fees included or just what we have paid so far? Thanks again.
  8. I know there are a lot of posts indicating that the £12m on Gallagher and Brereton have contributed massively to our losses and threat of FFP sanctions but surely the deals for them two were structured whereby payment is paid in stages over the lengths of their contracts. If this is the case then there could be another £XXm off the bottom line for the next couple of seasons. If any of the bean counters can shed some light on this I would be grateful.
  9. It's an educated guess. Just like you are guessing with your assumption but if you join the dots my guess holds more water than yours. I don't for one second think you will see if the same way as me though.
  10. Exactly. Huge losses just don't occur overnight - they have been accumulating for some time. The reckless spending by the club on poor footballers and paying them disproportionately to the level of their ability would be questioned in any other walk of life. Whichever way you look at it we are screwed. After almost a decade of shocking ownership we are heading down a black hole.
  11. Agnew recommended to the Indians that we bring Shaw in just like Mowbray recommended Waggott. And on the subject of Waggott I can't think of one area where he has improved the club. Another failure.
  12. If we are having huge flags waved I would just like to see iconic figures from our past. Jack Walker being the best example but there are plenty of others. Or the flags could have images of major trophies we have won or teams who have excelled. Can you imagine a flag with Kean or Coyle on it?
  13. I have just seen the highlights on Quest and saw the penalty shout we had late on. I'm not sure it's a penalty but how the hell the referee penalised Gallagher is unfathomable. It kind of summed him up.
  14. I think most clubs do. For me it's more a case of a lack of bravery from Walton and Raya when coming for crosses particularly in a crowded box. I don't think the best coaches in the world could fix that. A lot of clubs now have non contact games in training for fear of injury.
  15. The club's work on it in training when there is nobody pressing. Some of those delusional managers try and replicate it in proper games and so many are getting caught out. Aside from a handful of clubs it's suicidal football.
  16. It isn't just you my friend. There is a pretty sedate crowd where I sit and more and more are questioning Mowbrays tactics. I firmly believe Mowbray is stubborn and wants to prove himself right by doing it but he is costing us. After all he has been in the game forty years so he has to know best.
  17. And can he play on the right wing? Normally I would put them smiley things after a comment like that but that's probably where he will end up.
  18. The real worry to me about this referee was that he was almost oblivious to Prestons underhanded tactics which are, without a shadow of a doubt deliberate. I lost count of the number of times they stood over the ball to prevent us taking a quick free kick, tapped the ball away or actually run away with it and delayed nearly every restart. Bradley Johnson was assaulted and not even a free kick but his worst decision was when Armstrong nipped the ball from one of their lumps and his touch was a little heavy but he was caught and the ball just went out. It was a clear foul by the Nobber but because Armstrong was honest he didn't get the deserved free kick. Had he gone down he would have. That told me that the referee just doesn't understand game and his type of officiating will only encourage players to go down. Weak and inept doesn't do him justice.
  19. I'm beginning to feel a bit for Gallagher and become more angry with Mowbray for his crass stupidity and stubbornness in playing him out wide. He looks like a fish out of water and without a shadow of doubt has had his best moments down the middle. Mowbray is making a fool out of himself and Gallagher here. It's like he's trying to prove a point but is embarrassing himself. Into the game and I thought we were alright. On the balance of chances could have won against horrible opponents. Their players blatantly cheat and the weak referee allowed them to get away with disgusting tactics. I would put their manager in that category too. Our best player by a country mile was Downing who was excellent. His use of the ball was better than any player on the pitch and his performance belied his years. Some of our players would do well to watch how careful he is with the ball, hardly ever giving it away. Overall I feel disappointed not to have won but my dislike of all things Preston has intensified.
  20. Rather than having a go at the fans the finger should be pointed more at how badly he has been managed. It's not his fault we paid massively over the odds but the number of times I've seen Mowbray put his head in his hands after a players mistake (including Brereton) is publicly humiliating for the player concerned. And it was Mowbray who had him play for the under 23's last season. And to reiterate aside from a few individual moans and groans from some fans he has had no real criticism.
  21. Trying to do a Cruyff turn in his own goal area you mean ????
