  1. And this highlights a huge Mowbray failing for me. If the link to Wyke is true it sums up the confusion and lack of identity we have endured under Mowbray as he stumbled and dithered through different systems and ways of playing over the last few years. Playing different ways with players of limited ability takes time and invariably several new signings. Mowbrays ego will once again lead to another season of confusion and frustration and in my view abject failure.
  2. It wasn't a problem until three weeks ago 😁😁😁😁.
  3. I just hope that somebody in the corridors of power at Ewood has the good sense to see the commercial opportunity there is in Chile and cash in on Brereton mania. Somehow I doubt it.
  4. All the lines he has drawn are where he wants us to pass the ball sideways and backwards amongst our defence and keeper to improve possession stats.
  5. I watched Believe Me on Netflix last night. What a superb film that really gets various emotions going.
  6. You are misunderstanding me. Given the reviews Chile are getting more out him than Mowbray and his staff have where his form has wavered between mediocre and decent but mainly the former in my view. You clearly think differently which is your prerogative.
  7. You saying you don't think he's played his best for Chile get kind of supports my point doesn't it? And I would dispute he is a better player now than when he signed for us.
  8. I don't think there is anything in the link either but of far more interest to me is that his name is in the national and international football news. In his three years here he has hardly had a mention outside the local media.
  9. So in a nutshell the Chile coaching staff have got more out of Brereton in a three weeks than Mowbray and his staff have in three years, so much so he is being linked with one of the worlds best coaches. Sam Gallagher should check his ancestry to see if he has any distant Venezuelan relatives.
  10. To be perfectly honest my friend his arse wouldn't have got through the door if it was down to me.
  11. I wouldn't want any player who accepts having a 'squad role' anywhere near our club.
  12. It was after 4 pm on the last day of that particular window that news emerged that we were trying to do a deal for him. In fact the deal had to be a loan until January because we left it so late. By joining them dots it tells me that he wasn't on our radar until late in the window which indicates to me he was a panic buy after several of our targets went elsewhere. And the bottom line for me is that in our position we can't afford to put 'project' buys straight into the first team simply because of the fee. That money should have been spent on some more experienced players who could have hit the ground running.
  13. I haven't forgotten it. Judging him on his Rovers form alone he isn't anywhere near a £7m player. Maybe it's Mowbrays utilisation of him and the poor standard of coaching at Rovers but in his time here he has just about been average. I will be delighted if he becomes a big player for us next season scoring lots of goals and earning top ratings and when he has proved himself then offer him a new deal but on his Rovers form so far he hasn't earned one in my opinion.
  14. And whilst what you have said about general price increases is correct perversely it could be another reason for many not to renew. Covid has given many an opportunity to reset and review their outgoings which is one reason that I (forlornly) thought something radical might happen with regard to season ticket prices. The real losers here are Blackburn Rovers as I fear attendances will be at a 30+ year low. But Waggott won't bat an eyelid at that.
  15. I'm pleased for Bennett to get a move close to his Telford home. He had run his course here and overall was decent for us. It must have been a derisory offer from us though if Shrewsbury are presumably paying more.
  16. Our bargaining position isn't good mainly down to the fact he only has a year left on his deal. Clubs will use this to their advantage because Rovers can't risk a January sale when his value depreciates even further or worse still walking away for nothing next summer. As somebody once said "It's another fine mess you've got me into".
  17. I would add Alan Bleasdale to that Mike but, as a relative ankle biter you might not remember him. 😁😁
  18. Weren't they both in This is England too?
  19. He probably will be but it's another lazy effort from Mowbray having had him last season. He was good last season but I would like to see us giving the likes of Carter a chance and trying to bring in permanent signings rather than loans.
  20. Chuffed for Brereton who seems a nice lad. He still has lots to do yet in a Rovers shirt to convince me there is a player in there.
  21. Joel Glazer told Manchester United a 'laughing stock' at fans forum - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/57472902 Not our FF but at least one of the Rags owners was in attendance not just their lackeys and mouthpieces. And it sounds like he got a grilling too.
  22. Well done again for your efforts John. Trying to contact these owners is futile in my view. Surely Pasha is the conduit we should be targeting. Does anybody know where he lives?
  23. That's right Andy. I did once by trying to join the dots and dropped huge clod. Grimsby were on a quick counter attack and I saw a Grimsby player pushed to the ground. A second or two later I had a chance to look proper and Gus Uhlenbeek was the nearest Sheffield United player to the incident so my assumption was it must have been him although there weren't too many complaints at the time when I yellow carded him. Of course Sods Law dictated that Uhlenbeek would get a legitimate caution a few minutes later and off he went. I saw the video back the day after and sure enough it was Bobby Ford who committed the first foul. I really expected to be in the news but heard nothing particularly as my least favourite manager was in charge at Sheffield United. I saw Warnock some months later and asked why he didn't appeal. He said he wasn't bothered as he was bombing Uhlenbeek anyway.
  24. Equally as galling for me is that the club has missed out on around a billion pounds in lost revenue simply due to their mismanagement, arrogance and blind stupidity. We had it there, in the palm of our hands and they dismantled it. We were the model for many others to follow and they killed it. I curse the day they darkened our door.
