  1. Remember a few weeks ago when some people were getting very cocky about the Greek keeper and saying it was a massive feather in the cap of the European scouting network? God knows what he's like if he's worse than Pears. Add that to Walton and Leutwiler I don't know how we manage to find them. You couldn't be that unlucky so many times if you were sticking a pin in!
  2. Boro don't seem to be spanking people, I expect them to grind out a scrappy one goal victory, maybe we'll get some strokes of ill fortune in the game which Mowbray will be able latch on to and point at in conjunction with the injury list and on we limp regardless. You're right though, if we did get a real tubbing it might raise some eyebrows
  3. Hypothetically it would be nice if Swag wasn't Mowbray's boss and he was right though. In an ideal world we'd make the change if we didn't get an absolute minimum of four points from the next two home games giving a new man a couple of weeks to bed in during the international break. If results continue to disappoint and the goals against continue to rain in, I'd say a change has to be made with thirty games to go to give a new man a realistic chance of salvaging the season. That would give him another seven games at the outside. In reality we know that won't happen but it's what should occur.
  4. Do you want to invite the manager round to dinner or do you want us to get promoted? Incidentally I used to think that about Warnock as well but have warmed to him considerably since hearing him as a guest presenter on Talksport, completely straightforward, wears wears his heart on his sleeve and tells it how it is as opposed to most who dress things up and dance around a topic.
  5. At any normal Club the powers that be would be sounding out potential availability of managers in case the next two home games go South as well. At our Club with the long distance owners and the manager's best mate as his boss I doubt they've even registered there's a potential problem.
  6. Noticed that today when the camera panned onto the bench, the body language of all 3, Mowbray Venus and DJ was absolutely appalling. All 3 slumped in their seats with not a peep out of any of them. Johnson was slumped so far down in his seat he was almost horizontal.
  7. Serious question, do we not have a young player in the u23's who is actually a LB rather than play another youngster barely out of the U23's who isn't a LB there?
  8. I know we're not good defensively normally but that was some pub team style defending today even by our standards, very Coylesque, if we carry on like that a relegation scrap beckons. Lenihan and JRC were atrocious, Trybull will have to step up massively on that performance, on today's evidence he looks like a pointless crab very much in the Lowe/Evans mould. Brereton was back to his pre lock down self, Evans was his usual self (P4 L4?) and Armstrong was allowed to continue for the best part of an hour after seemingly feeling his hamstring. All in all a very depressing but fairly predictable afternoon.
  9. Why waste another season?
  10. I think you should have stuck with your original post, I've always said I can't see much in JRC wherever he plays and he was absolutely atrocious today. Out of position or not you still expect a certain standard from a professional footballer.
  11. Thanks for the info, apologies if it came across as shooting the messenger.
  12. Can't remember now but did matches resume last season when the general population were still under lockdown?
  13. It will be an absolute disgrace if Evans starts again and if he does, I think we all know the likely result.
  14. What evidence is there (either on his record in recent times or his record with us in the Championship) that he is? Coyle got a team promoted to the top flight once as well.
  15. Hi Parson, I would have thought it was fairly probable that Mowbray got the gig solely by virtue of being on the books of our favourite agency HSH. It certainly wasn't anything to do with his CV at that point. But again, you seem happy with Mowbray, so if that method of recruitment worked in appointing him then why is it not an acceptable method for appointing someone else? And why couldn't it be even more successful?
  16. Possibly the same person who identified Mowbray who you seem perfectly happy with?
  17. When he was appointed I think everyone's original reaction was "How was he even on the radar?" I'd say he's done better than people originally expected but imo it's been blindingly obvious for coming up to two years he isn't the man to take us any further. To try and make out we couldn't do better is nonsense.
  18. Only goal difference separating us from 16th - about where you'd normally expect to finish under Mowbray.
  19. I think that's rubbish. Basically if we were looking for another manager to replace Mowbray all we'd have to do to surpass the appointment on paper would be to appoint a manager who wasn't on the managerial scrapheap having walked out of a job with a League One Club before he was pushed!
  20. Yep, look at Reading. I've never heard of the bloke who went in there and he's turned them from relegation fodder into a decent unit almost instantly. No nonsense about long term projects or slow builds etc etc
  21. Is of the Conference variety on to night's evidence.
  22. Paul McKinnon was a striker signed from non League (Sutton United?) and I think played one game away at Sunderland at the old Roker Park which I was unfortunate enough to attend and was obviously horrifically out of his depth. The difference between him and Evans was he was instantly sussed and as someone else said Evans is like a bad smell that never goes away
  23. Has someone hacked your account chaddy? Imo this season already shows more than ever why Mowbray isn't the man. Better players, same end result. Lost half of our first eight games already.
  24. And he managed to divide the dressing room right down the middle. Sooner or later if you're Holtby, Armstrong, Brereton or Elliot pulling your tripe out week in week out or Nyambe and Dolan unable to get on the pitch but watching the likes of Evans and Gallagher and the defence go through the motions every week I'd imagine you'd eventually get pretty cheesed off.
