Aha, fair point Hasta. Yep, pretty sure that was his fifth yellow so he won't be available v Spurs. The Blonde Maldinis - aren't they a trapeze act though?

Some sensible reflections from Al75 et al. Utd were the better side, we might have sneaked a point but it's not the end of the world. Mokoena - can't remember now who posted about being a destroyer and creator but you're right. On the positive side, thought he did the destroyer job pretty well yesterday - anyone see much of Scholes : well shackled by the Axe IMHO. I don't know what's more of a concern - agreeing with Gord or thinking Riley had a decent game, worrying though. BTW who's going to play at CH next week cos Khiz is suspended? Does Sparky do a bit of backing down and play the club captain?

Trust you're visiting purely for research purposes Paul . Off at a total tangent - got 606 (on Five Live) on whilst I'm typing this. An Arsenal ST holder has just been on defending why they have no English players who are good enough for the first team. Anyway, he happened to mention he had one of the cheapest STs available at the Emirates Stadium : 850 quid

From that clubcall link...... "Nothing is certain yet, but I am waiting for news from Blackburn straight after the Champions League final." Champions League final, January? Now I know Egypt is in a different time zone but that's a few hours not months isn't it? -

And he spent quite a while at Sheff Utd I think when they were in the Championship. Couldn't hack it there, surely not up to Prem standard. -
Hmmmm, Jonathan Pearce would have great fun describing Rovers kicking right to left, or is it left to right.

Maybe there's not many who think like me, but I'd be happy with doing something like Middlebrough did - perhaps a bit better in the league so relegation is never a possibility and only reaching the semis of the UEFA (I don't ask for much ). Perhaps at 500k per place in the league it doesn't add up in pound notes but sometimes economics just goes out the window.... -
Just a slight tangent to Andy Taylor. I was watching the 2005/6 season DVD a few days ago, the extended highlights of the MU game at Old Trafford. That was Gray's first game 'in from the cold' and who was the right winger for MU that day? Aye, Ronaldo. I know that doesn't mean Ronaldo will do nowt next week but Gray's come up against him before, and even if he does get taken to the cleaners on Sat, it might not have the same psychological damage it would on a youngster.

You've no doubt got the gist that the whole Basel team did OK. I can't remember thinking at any time that anyone of them was a cut above or below anyone else on the pitch. Helpful eh . It was Chipperfield who dragged down MGP for the pen, but from where I was sat it was one of those pens that you'd be brassed off to be on the receiving end of. Thought he was in control of the situation then found MGP had got goalside.

Hope you're right it'll never happen. I'd be extremely worried about our management if it did : MGP and Tugay aren't exactly ball winners are they? -
I'd go along with that Mr Hill. I'm increasingly seeing what others have been saying for a while about the weakness we have at LB (McEveley, Matteo) and whilst he's nowhere near as bad as a lot of posters would have us believe, he does have a knack of getting totally done for pace. Someone like Lennon (Spurs) will have a field day against him. Best of a poor bunch and at least makes the left side of the field OK attacking-wise. Anyway, big shout for Zurab. Thought he had a cracking game. And I was lucky enough to be sitting just in front of Toogs' fan club in the JW Lower (Mrs Tugay is quite tasty) so you can imagine the hell that broke loose when he got that tap in.

I'm a born pessimist - no mention to my mind means no chance for Thursday. So Neill RB (which is OK) and weak LB. If Toddy hadn't p****d on his chips, maybe he'd have been in with a chance of CB with Ooijer moving to RB (when he arrived, wasn't it with a billing that he was a CB/RB?) and Lucas returning to LB? If Savage and Nonda are back and fit, I'd be reasonably happy with the midfield/forwards.

Was there anyone from SUSD represented on the discussion about standing on Five Live this morning? It was mentioned about the two WH fans being banned (a father and his 12 year old son I think? The dad gave his views). Can't see why there shouldn't be a debate about SAFE STANDING areas myself - I'm sure there may be reasons why they aren't practical at every ground but I would agree that it would make perfect sense at other grounds. If that's how things develop, I can see how fans at (say) Bolton might chime up with 'If fans can stand at Blackburn, then why can't we?' but that's the next step. -

Dear dear dear. What was Sav doing getting on the end of a cross? And a header? Severe derelection of his defensive duties . Thought Neill looked a bit dodgy, maybe their right winger (Blaszczczczczski) had a decent game. Emerton and Bentley impressive down our right though, and thought Roberts also did a supersub impression that Shefki might have been proud of. -

No station close by. Taxi or bus from Lpool Lime St (main, city centre station) or get the 'underground' from Lime St or Central up to Kirkdale and walk from there - about a mile. I've heard there are also buses from Sandhills station (the one before Kirkdale) to Anfield on match days but never used one meself. -

Sign of the times I reckon Paul. Sad, but something we might have to get used to if it works and the gate is 25k (or hopefully more). I don't have a problem (cos of the other benefits of an ST) but can imagine some ST holders will take note and start to weigh up the cost of an ST vs cost of walk-ons which will include a few of these promos. To those calling for new initiatives, add this to the list the club are trying.
-
Aye, remember it fairly well, I was in the BE Enclosure so pretty much level with it, and now sit in much the same place so level with the 'incident' on Sunday. Never crossed my mind that either was off cos as folk have said McCarthy was behind the ball (and Roberts as well). That linesman was iffy though - gave Jeffers off when he was well on, then didn't flag when he was a couple of yards off IMHO.

So she didn't put her phone number on yours cletus?

His first two are lost in the mists of time but the third....... Matty Holmes (yep that's right) got to the dead ball line, must have been somewhere about edge of 18 yd box, chipped it across and Newell got a glancing header to it from about 3 yds. Well that's how I remember it anyway.
