It's a good idea to look at the younger players in pre season but we absolutely need another 1st choice CB alongside Lenihan no matter if Wharton is good enough.
-
It feels like Wharton should be ahead of any of the other young centre backs we have (Magloire, Grayson & Carter) He should be getting some time during pre-season to see if he is up to it at least.

I seem to remember the Dann fee being reported as high but plenty of rumours flying around it was only a fraction of the reported fee.
-
If we do sign this lad, he'll obviously be given a chance before writing him off but it does fall in line with the usual theme of investing very little/nothing in the defence. All of our current defenders are either free transfers, signed for less than £250k (and not very good) or came through the academy.

Knowing our luck, most likely! -
That's pretty damning for the rest of the squad, especially the full backs as this should be a key attribute for them both.

It was absolutely shite. In a game of that importance, why is he doing that? -
Leighton Baines has retired. So we can put that one to bed

Tosin won't be getting in the city squad, will he? Chances of another loan late in the window. All parties might be up for that, as he got game time here. Of course, we can't leave it late in the window to bring a CB in (which might not happen anyway) but it would be good if we could get him back.

Talk about thinking outside of the box. 5 names, all whom Mogga has worked with before.

Wigan Administration

Sadly, the only one who will come out of that situation well is Paul Cook. He'll walk straight into another Championship job. -
Spot on really.

Whats Eric Lichaj like? Guessing not great based on Hulls season but I thought he was supposedly decent at Forest?
-
I've got a lot of time for DG after his spell here. Legend is pushing it but he's been a good player for us and came across as a decent bloke who actually gave a damn about us. Not sure where he'll end up but hopefully he gets fixed up somewhere decent, if he wants to carry on playing.
-
Yer, that probably is the most likely outcome, sadly.
-
I reckon we will just give Mulgrew away for nothing. Providing he'll lower his wage demands, I think someone would take him (if he is willing to go that is)

Championship season 2019-20

We could if we really wanted to. I'm fairly certain if we were ambitious enough, with a transfer kitty or managers salary, we could attract a lot of the names that get floated around on here. Its just we are run by terrible owners who look to either do things on the cheap or get told who to appoint by some shady agency. -
It is a bit mad but from Sparks Rovers posts it sounds like we have been tracking this guy for a while, perhaps we are actually trying to steal a march on other clubs for a change. Trav is the only decent CM we have, admittedly we have much more pressing concerns, so as long as he doesn't blow all our budget on this one guy then hopefully he has something lined up for GK, CB & LB

Jobs for the boys.
-
Centre mid, isn't he?
-
He did some good stuff at times but yep, he is no where near ready.
-
A dismal end to our season tonight. Luton Town complete the double over us, sticking 5 goals past us across 2 games. In the 9 games since the restart we have conceded 18 goals. Absolutely no where near good enough. I have no doubts Mowbray will still be here next season and he's absolutely crippled us by spending all of our budget on our "Strikeforce" and only patching up the defence with loans. If he doesn't address the defence this summer, we are in trouble next season.

Well, That was shite.
