Currently at 1 win in the last 9.

It amazes me how as a former centre back, how much Mowbray ignores the defence as a manager.

Luckily ifollow is abysmal, so my stream has booted me out so I missed the cardiff goal

We seem intent on making passes to Cardiff players so they can break on us.

Yes Danny!! BB/Gally/Samuel would have put that wide.

Can't knock the finish on that.

And yet, most our squad would

Argh Nyambe, should of buried that!

Doesn't sound like we have a particularly good recent record at Cardiff. Just to add to our hopes.

It would be pretty infuriating if Downing was let go but we offered new contracts to Smallwood and Samuel.
-
It wouldn't surprise me, both are likely to be on good money. Graham doesn't feature much but Downing would be missed for sure. I reckon we would have offered one more season to Downing if Covid hadn't crippled football.

I like that. Dead rubber game for us, no pressure, drop the under performers/crap players and give a chance to some of the younger players.

What are we on now 56 points, with 5 to play? Looks like we will fall short of the 70 point target set by Mogga at the start. 3 tough games next leaving Luton, who have already beaten us this season) and Reading (who we did beat earlier this season) I reckon we'll get a max of 61 points in total, putting us just 1 point above last seasons tally. I guess technically, it's still progress ?

https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/18562931.not-level---mowbray-rovers-fading-play-off-hopes/ Mowbray saying we aren't at the level of play-offs/automatic promotion, i mean he's right. Sounds like the aim was just to build on a higher placed finish than last seasons 15th place to make it to the top 10. "We’re Blackburn Rovers, hopefully around the top 10 this year, but last year, 16th." He also apparently knows why we are inconsistent. “It’s frustrating, but I know the reasons. I’ve been in the game a long time and I know where we are as a club."

Mowbray: Stay or Go - A Poll
davulsukur replied to Stuart's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I don't know why he wants to turn us into a possession based team, what's the end goal? Why waste 5 years having a pet project to turn Rovers into a possession based team? What purpose does it serve? It doesn't mean for 1 minute that it will produce better results at the moment we can't even score a bloody goal doing it. His job is to win football matches. He should have a clear game plan for every game with the full intention that we are going to come away with the 3 points, not try and get the team passing it about a bit more at the back to up the possession stats. Even with the players signed to try and get it working, Holtby, Downing, Tosin being more technically gifted players 1 isn't ours, 1 can't stay injury free and the other is defo the wrong side of 30. So I guess we are starting again, again. Frustrating as hell that he won't play to our strengths and just try and get the best out of the players he has. Gallagher and Brereton certainly don't tick the boxes for a possession based game or his fabled inside forward crap. Brereton struggles to stand up FFS. -
Of course we won't because we don't all share your idea of how Rovers should be run.

Relegation battle it is then.

Leeds at Home 4.7.20

We have plenty of issues and probably no money to resolve them. Huge summer window ahead. -

My worry is that Covid/FFP/previous wastage is going to see us spend nothing this summer. Graham will be cut loose to save pennies and I could see us hand Samuel another deal and try and get someone like Butterworth more game time. We will be so limp up front it will be untrue. Dack returning would be the only other source of goals alongside AA. -

I'd 100% be starting Graham ahead of either Gallagher or Brereton (not RW/LW) mind you) because Graham actually knows where the back of the net is. Gallagher and Brereton are an incredible waste of money and Samuel is absolute toss. -
3 defeats in a row, incredibly likely to be 5 after the next 2. Its abundantly clear that Mowbray isn't taking this squad any further. He's signed 2 absolute dollopers in Gallagher and Brereton and hampers Gallagher further by shunting him RW. And his binning of Raya for Walton is looking like the worst piece of business yet. Mowbray is stubborn and won't change, so as a result we aren't miraculously going to become a force to be reckoned with. Times up, he needs to go.

Walton is an abysmal goal keeper. If he, or anyone else thinks he's playing for Brighton next season, they are kidding themselves. -
