  1. Despite my incredibly low opinion of the people running the show at Ewood, I don't think even they would be that stupid to appoint Rooney. He was never in the running for the job before VI was appointed (that we know of) and his overall record as a manager is laughably poor. It would probably tip the fanbase over the edge if he was appointed. Aside from that, the club has tried it's best to push a positive narrative regarding VI's appointment and there has been plenty of talk about him spearheading a "rebuild" in the summer to fit his "style". I suspect the club have put it out there as a red herring to show us what we could end up with if we don't back the current bloke.
  2. Leeds spent ยฃ18m on agent fees!?!! Wtf? That's probably more than we've spent on transfers in the last 10 years!
  3. As I understand it, the owners were not able to send any money whatsoever at one point when the court case began (as confirmed by Suhail), and as a result couldn't send their usual wedge of cash over, which would be needed to pay the clubs (monthly? weekly?) outgoings such as, players wages/staff wages/utilities/transfer instalments etc etc. The club needed a cash injection to cover us for the season, and so we went begging to Prem clubs to take Wharton off us, at a cut price, presumably with a reasonable upfront payment to cover the shortfall the owners would have put in. I remember Steve Parish on talksport talking about the deal, saying something along the lines of "Blackburn needed the money" but i can't remember.
  4. Absolutely infuriating when it's said out loud. "Our owners had to sell the best player our academy has ever produced and a generational talent, to keep the lights on due to their own incompetence. " As always though, it's the fans that suffer. It's ok though, we got 44 appearances out of him (not even a full fucking season in the championship)
  5. It's not that cynical, it's pretty much what's going to happen. There is a small chance however, that as he is only 17, if we give him some game time he might just sign a contract (whenever he is allowed to) to stay for another season or so. Small chance but not sure what else we can do
  6. Yeah. Tyjon is back fit i think (was on the bench at Luton) be good to get him on the pitch over these last 4 games.
  7. I don't think Ismael/the club are looking at the play offs as a realistic aim now. I'm sure he was asked post Luton something along the lines of "Now that the playoffs are realistically out of reach, is the focus on next season?". VI's response was waffle about getting the right profile of player in over the summer etc. but there was no defiant "we can still do it" answer.
  8. I had a quick glance at their full time comments on twitter and a few in there saying Bell is poor. Didn't seem to be the most popular of players.
  9. I can't quite figure out why he's still there?
  10. ๐Ÿ˜‚ and then they go and score! ๐Ÿซฃ
  11. Man Utd are absolutely dreadful. What a shambolic squad they've assembled. Defensively all over the shop. It's like watching a lower end Championship team playing a premier team in the cup. How much did Zirkzee cost them? Horrific (Obviously this is great stuff for all non Man Utd fans)
  12. I didn't think he got anything on it when I was watching it but I slowed the twitter video down to x0.25 speed and it does look like it. In which case, that's an incredible save.
  13. We've not seen enough of Kargbo to determine if he's sorted that left hand side.
  14. The biggest disappointment of the day was the incredibly harsh 2nd yellow for Montgomery. On his full debut, probably knocked his confidence a fair bit.
  15. I wouldn't go that far. I'd say they are both quite poor. Toth didn't get to any crosses he went for and Luton nearly scored from one he flapped at.
  16. Which just means the owners have to put less in. It doesn't mean we'll have an increased transfer budget. It's never meant an increased transfer budget.
  17. I agree with you about good ownership having a short, medium and long term plan. Puts our owners in a terrible light though, 15 years later, clearly no long term planning in the slightest (not for the betterment of BRFC anyway)
  18. Apologies, where is this interview? And, we need to sell MORE fucking players??? What? So, via this total prick, the club are trying to soften the fans up to the fact that we are selling our better players (Trav, Tronstad and Brittain) and NOT reinvesting any of that money? What about the ยฃ40m+ we've taken over the last few windows? League one is inevitable. #VenkysOut
  19. Could we chuck Venkys on a bonfire?
  20. ๐Ÿ˜‚ OK, he set us up in such a way, to reduce the number of errors Pears made.
  21. Hasn't wanted to but somehow has. We aren't tough to beat, throwing bodies on the line, defensively sound, as we were under JE. He even got Pears looking good, who had now reverted to type as a waste of fucking space. We are nothing like we were under JE.
