I suspect this is exactly how most Rovers fans feel right now. Next season will be tough and the season after will be guaranteed league one (if we aren't there already) as Tronstad, Hyam, Travis and Brittain will all walk out the door for free and replaced with free transfers.

This kind of works but hold onto us for 15 years for marketing? Not a chance. They were in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons a long time ago but it's been dead and buried for years now. Most people's first question to me when they find out I'm a Rovers fan is "You're not still owned by Venkys are you?" "Yep" "Fucking hell, thought they left years ago?" "Nope" No one, outside of Rovers fans, Dingles and PNE fans actually give a flying fuck about us or Venkys being a thing anymore. What use is getting their brand known over here? Why didn't we choose that path? We have what, 11, 12 players leaving in the summer, along with players in their final year of their contract. Far too much short term thinking and leaving us with a summer rebuild, followed by the loss of several key first teamers the following summer. All off the back of raking in £40m in transfers. It's been a poor January once again and now it looks like our manager is set to leave us for a relegation battle.

It would be very interesting to see how our happy clapping fans explain JE to Derby. There isn't really much of an argument beyond him being a former player to make. If he does go to them, the owners and hierarchy need hounding out of the club ASAP.

Ironically our saving grace here is that Venkys are highly unlikely to let him leave and will just hold him to his contract. Although we'd be left, once again, with a manager who doesn't want to be here and is just going through the motions. If he does want to leave us for Derby, that's one huge statement about our current shit show.

What's the craic with Derby these days? They were a mess at one point but obviously managed promotion to the Championship. If they have owners with money and ambition, he'll probably sack us off for them in a heartbeat.

I can see why people would want to concentrate on the league but gotta love a cup run. Beating a premier league team is always great (even if they are struggling) Deffo make changes for this and start all 3 new lads. If they reckon Trav can do Sun, Wed, Sat then he needs to start but agree that he's only just got back, so could be worth a rest.

Obviously he won't be missed as he spends 80% of his time in the treatment room. Must be a bit more to it though, as Pickering has been included despite being injured for a lot of the remaining season and having 2 left backs already in the squad, who are fit and ready to play. Real shame about Sigurdsson generally though, there was a good amount of expectation that came with his signing.
