  1. Assume Venus and Waggott are mates? Jesus wept, they better not bring him back.
  2. Rooney has just a 26% win ratio across his whole managerial career, over 150 games managed. He's picked 2 rough championship gigs with Derby and Birmingham but it feels like he's not cut out for management. He's only 38 but feels like he should have spent more time in coaching roles and/or learning the management game before going into the No.1 seat. If he goes to Plymouth and fails it'll be a life time on the sky sofa for Wazza.
  3. Kompany ➡️ Bayern Bellamy ➡️ Dingles McKenna ➡️ Man Utd❓️ Rooney ➡️ Plymouth❓️ (championship but you know) Some random managerial moves on the cards here.
  4. He's already in talks with Oxford over a new contract and by the sounds of this: https://www.birminghamworld.uk/sport/football/transfer-news-west-brom-portsmouth-derby-county-target-josh-murphy-oxford-united-4639629 He'll be signing it.
  5. A head of recruitment to sit above our head of recruitment? Absolute jobs for the boys at Rovers.
  6. Fully expect our first starting 11 of the season to be: ---------------------Pears Brittain----Carter---Hyam---Pickering -----------Tronstad----JRC Dolan--------Sigurdsson-----Hedges ------------------Gallagher Edit: forgot about Siggy, Sammy will be sold ASAP.
  7. He's 32 and scored less goals than Sam Gallagher last season. Avoid.
  8. Aye, it's a only a link but that's how the summer goes. Gotta discuss something!
  9. He was released. He also had a heart issue in the summer and didn't play till boxing day. 26 year old who's spent the last 5 seasons in non league. He was at Burton Albion so has played a few times in championship/league one but this is a barrell scraping. He's an attacking mid as well, so could be Szmodics replacement 😂
  10. Or, it's the simplest, cheapest, most convenient solution to a problem, so that's the route our senior management operate.
  11. Being in discussions with Fadz and Fleck pretty.much confirms we have 0 budget to play with. As good as Fadz was, he was a short term sticking plaster and we won't move on if we are retaining players of his age. Signing Fleck back up is beyond barrell scraping and comfortably one of the biggest waste of wages/budget we could do.
  12. Retained list: https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2024/may/18/retain-list-confirmed/ Confirms we have taken the 1 year option on Gally and Dolan (sigh) and we are in discussions with Fadz and Fleck (why the fuck would we be?) Also, thought Charlie Weston was highly rated?
  13. An unbelievably pathetic statement. We're a fucking shambles from top to bottom.
  14. Hawking Szmodics around to anyone and everyone right now then I'd imagine.
  15. For McGuire to give that interview, say what he said and reject a contract at his current club, I'd imagine he has enough potential options on the table for him to burn any bridges with us.
  16. Actually think if JDT was still here, this deal would be still on. I'm sure he'd be able to impress McGuire in a few meetings/phone calls, in that way. Now it's Waggott and JE, it's dead in the water.
  17. Can't blame McGuire for not wanting to join us. We must have looked like a real amateur outfit with the January balls up. We need to move on, heads have rolled it seems (Broughton, Silvester). Who knows if they were the ones culpable for this but we know Venkys/board pulled the plug on the first deal. Just a shitshow all round basically.
  18. As always, comparisons to K**n & Coyle are way wide of the mark. He's got some distance to go before he reaches those levels.
  19. They won't want to play in league 1 but Birmingham will still want good money for them. Not sure on the financial situation at Birmingham (historically has always been a mess?), but if they are under no pressure, they'll get closer to market value which will rule us out immediately. If they have a fire sale, the players will have better options than Rovers in the championship.
  20. I expect Birmingham will be his first port of call. However, any decent ones will command a higher fee than we have monies available, so it will be any players League 1 Birmingham don't want/release.
  21. Duru signs a new contract. First team material? He's 19, so shouldn't be out of the question.
  22. Can't see McGuire signing for us, he must be sick of the sight of us by now. Plus, I imagine he'll cost good money, which we are unlikely to spend.
