  1. I think everyone agrees this is all very bad news and no one is in favour. So how are we, the fans and everyone who cares about the club, and presumably the community around Brockhall who I assume will be against the proposal, going to oppose it? This is going to need concerted action. Fans complaining on a messageboard won't stop it happening
  2. Agree except that Rovers isn't a "product". It's a club and vital part of the community and the town and people's lives.
  3. Rovers winger Ally "Noddy" MacLeod retrieves the ball from the River Darwen which ran behind the old Rovers training ground (made of cinders) next to Ewood Park. There was a rule that whoever kicked the ball into the River Darwen, had to retrieve it. As you can see it had been snowing, so the water must have been freezing. Not sure of the date, but likely to be sometime in the late 1950. MacLeod went on to become Scotland manager in the late 1970s.
  4. The days of players forcing out managers are long gone..... and you also have to have a board that is local and listens
  5. Probably thinking about his pension fund. It's not been a good week in the stockmarket either
  6. Will this be 0 points out of 12 ?
  7. Bell's got concrete in his boots
  8. 2 weeks ago you wanted to give the rest of the season and the "see"
  9. Gallagher a first pick yet again despite consistently being our worst player
  10. Lampard would certainly attract players to the club and Rovers would be in the press headlines again because of his name.
  11. He was sacked at Huddersfield for a reason. No one else has come in for him since. It's a long stretch to say "we would be promoted". Sorry but no.
  12. It's highly unlikely in the case of the former because there are far more attractive clubs than Rovers looking for investment and unlikely in the latter because there's not many clubs who have those sort of people. Admittedly, Burnley have shown it's possible but we'd be very lucky to find people as good as them Going into admininstration would be huge gamble
  13. Bournemouth had a wealthy benefactor and Southampton a brilliant board who plotted a route back to the top The problem as I see it is that if we went into administration we would kore than likely end up in League Two, like Bolton.
  14. Cowley was sacked after 9 months at Huddersfield for undisclosed reasons and from what I can see has been unemployed since. Why would he be top of your list of potential Rovers managers?
  15. I presume you mean Danny Cowley?
  16. Not been a good week has it, with the cricket and Rovers? Far better to half a glass empty, then you're not as disappointed
  17. I've never seen such a disinterested bunch of players as in the last 3 games. They were just going through the motions tonight
  18. Just a continuation of the QPR / Preston games. Absolutely appalling
  19. Eric Morecambe to Andre Previn: "Listen, I play the right notes but not necessarily in the right order." Tony Mowbray to the media: "Listen, I pick the right players but not necessarily in the right places"
  20. Gallagher finished at right back in the PNE match. What did he do wrong?
  21. Two rookie teenage plus Bennett in defence. This isn't going to end well
  22. Nyambe should ask for a transfer and no one could blame him
  23. Football specials were great fun for supporters and good revenue earners for the railways but all too often this happened. You can't blame BR for stopping laying them on
  24. Yes, I'd rather your donation went to a homeless charity instead of a football club if possible
