I think you're right. That's the only way the majority will turn. If results take a serious nosedive. The fact there were a couple of banners tonight aimed in the right direction is a good start. No surprise to hear that they were taken down, but they were seen and will have got to certain people in the Director's Box. Good. -

If people take a look at RoverCanada's latest post in the 'Under The Cosh Podcast' thread, that should give everybody a clue as to what to expect here. They stopped Mowbray from picking Bennett to avoid triggering a contract extension. Just like they did with Salgado, Roberts et al from day one. They tried to shaft Bennett into accepting a 50% pay cut and spread it out over two years, meaning they got two seasons out of him for the price of one. He effectively told them to get stuffed. That's the kind of thing these wasters see as 'wins'. Wage savings, cuts wherever they can make them. Stuff the football. If the players don't accept the derisory or lowball offers, then no problem. Friendly journos are on hand to tell everyone that the players were being unreasonable, too demanding, the club did everything they could, the players wanted to move down South, closer to home, to spend more time with pets, kids and whatever else. Never the club's fault though, remember. Every year we have people who fall for it and it will happen again. Whether these players are any good or not is a different debate, but watch how very soon the narrative from those sleeping in our fanbase becomes Brittain, Hyam, Dolan, Tronstad etc being snakes and 'ungrateful' because they didn't sign new deals. The wider fanbase needs to cotton on to what's going on pretty damn quick. This place is on the money and sees through the bullshit. If only large sections of the Ewood crowd could realise what is happening. -

We would have been better off asking a random French man walking the streets of London if he fancied managing Rovers for 5 months instead of Ismael. This manager looks a complete dud and at this rate, will be taking us down next season. Usually, you see glimmers of something from a manager, a plan or something to be hopeful about. There's nothing here. In a way, I feel sorry for him. He has obviously come here hoping to do well, but has walked into a sea of scum who are not interested in the success of the football club. Ismael won't hang around for long, regardless of the three year deal, and despite not being much cop as a manager, he'll be another who was onto a loser from day one due to the enemy that is occupying the club. Nobody can succeed here until the whole place is cleansed. Whatever went on with Crescendo and the rest of the bastards involved at the outset of the takeover, has led to a curse hitting this club. Bollocks to the lot of them. Their time is coming. -

Chants of "Ismael, sort it out, Ismael Ismael sort it out" from the Rovers fans. Exactly as Matty said would happen this afternoon. It's a start, but we all need to get after the real enemy. -

"Is somebody going to tell these players they are 1-0 down?" Andy Bayes on Radio Lancs just a few minutes ago. The players' heads have gone. They've given up. Unacceptable, but this is all on the scum above who derailed another season and have driven the hope out of everybody connected in one foul swoop. Scum only interested in wage saving and getting pats on the back. Football isn't for you bastards. I'll tell you a way of saving money for free. You don't need Kentaro and their puppets to tell you this. Sell up and f£ck off. -

Absolute crap. Hyam again. Looks a mess without Batth. A defender that needs guiding through a game is not a Blackburn Rovers centre back. -

Exactly how I feel. Under Eustace this season we could see a plan on the pitch. Be rigid, keep it tight, nick a goal. It didn't always come off, but it was going well enough. The general feeling was if we could get Tronstad back fit and add a couple of decent signings in January, maybe Eustace and the team could get that top 6 place by grinding out a few more wins. It was possible and it was on, despite the bastards above. Instead, they mess Eustace about, as they did with JDT, rendering him desperate to leave and the whole thing starts to fall apart. Feels very flat right now. They couldn't have picked a more dull and dreary manager. It's not just about his interviews, what he is showing us on the field is shit. That's the main issue. He looks totally the wrong fit and I have no confidence he will lead us to a top 6 finish in the games remaining. -
This shirt was worn by Rovers in both the 2000/01 and the 2001/02 seasons. As other posters have mentioned, there is definitely a "Grabbi Ciccio" signature visible, which means the shirt is from the 2001/02 season. At the bottom right is Stig Inge Bjornebye's signature. Two spots above him is Alan Miller, the goal keeper. To the left of Alan Miller, the "H.B" is Henning Berg. I think the one next to Berg is Yordi, the Spanish striker we had on loan. Full name Yordi Gonzalez. Underneath the Time logo is Tony Parkes and it looks like Matt Jansen next to him. The one above "Ciccio", that looks like B.B.M, could be Marcus Bent or Marlon Broomes. To the right of that looks like Friedel. Above them and second from the top is John Curtis. It's difficult to make out the rest.

I think the goal you are looking for might be the one seen at 20 seconds in on the clip below. It came in a Dutch League game away at NEC Nijmegen in November 2000:

The Aynsley Pears depreciation thread.
SuperBrfc replied to Neal's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Exactly. It reminds me of the time when Benson was getting roasted on here a couple of years ago. Fans were questioning his role, his ability as a coach and why he appeared to be untouchable. A day or two later, Kaminski appears in an interview praising Benson as being a top keeper coach who aided his development in a big way etc etc. IMO, PR pieces to make us look like idiots, whilst propagating the 'I'll trust the experts, thanks' mindset they want fans to adopt. -
The Aynsley Pears depreciation thread.
SuperBrfc replied to Neal's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Pears has a shocker of a game yesterday and the fans are rightly giving him pelters on here and elsewhere. The calls for him to be sold and replaced with a proper keeper are growing louder. Then today, we hear that Man Utd are interesting in signing him. Hahahaha. The 'experts' know better than us plebs, eh? Feels like one of those. "What do that lot know, Tony Coton and Man Utd want him". Aye, yeah. -
v Derby County (a) - 8/3/2025
SuperBrfc replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
The good guys always have the last laugh and Eustace was one of the good guys for Rovers. A Derby victory would be justice for him, as much as it would harm our play off hopes. A man wrongly labelled a snake by people who can't see the wood for the trees. The season has been sabotaged again by the same set of bastards. Same script, on repeat. So many saw this capitulation coming today. Ismael will oversee our relegation to League One next season. A crap, desperate appointment by desperate individuals. Venky's out. Pasha out. Waggott out. Ismael out. -
Gary O'Neil, former Boro player. He was there from 2007-11. Him and Boateng were teammates at Boro for one season in the 2007/08 campaign. If O'Neil is their main target, that could explain Boateng being touted as a number two here. It might just be speculation for now, but there is a Boro theme showing itself in the links. Just a hunch, but I'm expecting, after going round the houses with various names and whispers about 150 applicants, (Yeah, right) for it to end with Karanka. If it's somebody that nobody has mentioned nor has appeared in these lists, it will come as a surprise to me. If it came down to a choice between the two, I'd be picking O'Neil all day long ahead of a Karanka. The latter is a k#&! and would change things too much. O'Neil has shown recently to have Premier League pedigree and that's exactly what our club has (minus those upstairs).

Eustace…he gone…*official*
SuperBrfc replied to jim mk2's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I'd argue that he started looking at other jobs due to what went on last summer, Jim. I think that was the catalyst, rather than him being a snake who always wanted out, that some quarters are portraying him as. Based on info/rumours that have emerged, it is likely that this is how it went: 1) He allegedly had an agreement with the car salesman that he would have the McGuire money to spend last summer, providing he kept us up. 2) He keeps his side of the bargain. The clown pairing then attempt to go back on that understanding. He offers to resign, twice. That scenario, I think, showed him what he was up against. That would be a red flag for most competent managers. A few signings arrive, including Cantwell, temporarily calming matters...but he probably sees Ohashi and Gueye come in and thinks "who?". I don't think he was pleased with how last summer went and saw no plan or vision, but with a compromise reached on signings he resolves to carry on despite having reservations. 3) Seeing how they operate and not knowing what is happening with contracts or the long term plan, he feels the need to get away so starts looking out for other jobs. Hence mentions of Preston, Hull etc in August and beyond. 4) The constant focus on "togetherness" and "unity" from Eustace are not the acts of a snake or a hypocrite IMO, but rather show him to be the good man that he is. I think this was him trying to bring all of us together on the pitch. Fans, players and staff, so that the club could still pick up results and achieve something. Despite him wanting out in the background, he didn't want the team or the fans to suffer for what was going on upstairs. Think it became clear to him last summer that those above him are clowns who aren't fussed, just like we realised long ago, but we all still want Rovers to win and do well despite them. He constantly referenced "the players, me, the staff, the fans, we all want quality players to come in, we all want the club to be successful" etc. It became an us against them scenario. Just like it was under JDT. This will never change under this hierarchy. They don't want what we, the fans, and our managers want. 5) In the weeks leading up to January Eustace stated many times, the need for 2 or 3 quality signings. Again, it was stressed that he, the players, the staff and the fans all want these signings made. He made it obvious that if they didn't come in it wouldn't be due to him or his staff. The Jan window ends as it does and he is seemingly not happy. He repeatedly refers to "club signings" and "their signings". Maybe because he didn't get who he wanted, maybe because they are mostly short term moves or that he just doesn't rate them. He has likely viewed the Jan window to be a continuation of last summer. No plan, no ambition, no vision. 6) The Sigurdsson situation and the way he was omitted, being the cherry on the top of an abysmal cake. If Siggy's account is to be believed, his omission makes Eustace look like a prick for giving him hope, when it wasn't his fault that he was unregistered. I think this was the "that's it, I'm done" moment. 7) Eustace tells the public he's going to hold talks with Pasha and Waggott following Derby's official approach and that he is seeking assurances regarding his own future, investment from the owners and the club's long term plan. If he leaves, it's because they wouldn't give him those assurances. It's a clear move by him to show the fans who and what the issue is at this club. They failed to deliver and he left. 😎😎 (Ignore emojis, this is point 😎 8. Yesterday in his Derby presser, he talks about Derby having "a long term plan, a vision, and ambition". Whilst he's playing to the Derby gallery a bit, those words are a pop at our joke of a hierarchy! Not the words of a "greedy bastard" or whatever. He also talked about Derby having people on the Board that care about the club and the fans. Again, another pop at the hierarchy here and a pointed message for us Rovers fans to ponder. Can any of us argue that he is wrong in what he is trying to say? Two consecutive managers have told us all we need to know, yet some are still taken in by the words of an extensively pro club hack (the same hack who showed much love for Kean and Anderson, odd, that) and the hot air assumption of Jordan on talksport. The latter ridiculously suggested Eustace must have got too big for his boots and is therefore entitled, ungrateful and disloyal for walking away. Based on what? No inside info, no knowledge of Rovers under Venky's, just assumption. Absolute cobblers from people who care not about this club. I am far from a Eustace fan boy. If people recall, I was probably the first to say 'Eustace out' on here after hearing his "no excuses" comment. That was wrong though, and was caused by anger at JDT's treatment and exit and seeing him as Waggott's stooge. He certainly isn't that. I have no issue with Eustace over any of this. He was driven to look for a way out. He was on our side. He wanted Rovers to kick on. He saw that those upstairs didn't give a shit. Neither he nor JDT are our enemy. Venky's out. Pasha out. Waggott out. -

Early observation...Owen Beck is a lot better than Yuri Ribeiro. The latter isn't bad, he's more experienced and an ok option, but you can clearly see the difference between the two. If it was possible (not likely), Beck would be a big signing to get done. -

SuperBrfc replied to jim mk2's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Yes, it was. I mentioned Karanka a few days ago as one who would be in the frame. Imagine my surprise (not) this morning seeing Nicko's list of candidates. My first thought was 'the outstanding candidate'. Then I saw somebody else on here opine that it would be like an Owen Coyle appointment. Who recommended Coyle to Pasha, remains an unanswered question. There is a pattern that has gone largely unnoticed by fans over the years. The pattern has shown itself relating to a number of rumoured transfer targets too over the past 14 years, which is why I posted similar in the transfer thread too. Somebody like Carsley or O'Neil coming in would be something different, so let's see who they end up going for. -

SuperBrfc replied to jim mk2's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
It should be an exciting prospect...for a normal club. Faced with this scenario: Uncle Jack would have told Mourinho to name his price. Failing that, Allegri would have been getting a call. John Williams would have been sorting out the finer details with Big Sam, with Warnock's number on standby. In today's world of the lost though: "Hey, Aitor! Amigo. Welcome to the Camelot of English football". IMO, it looks all set for Karanka to come in with another Boro man in Boateng joining the staff too. I hope neither happens. -
Samba on Big Sam's No tippy tappy football
SuperBrfc replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Fair play to Big Sam and Phil Thompson for saying it as it is. The more people in the game that speak up, the better. That initial reaction from Thompson of "Are they still in charge?" is a common one found amongst football fans who haven't seen us much since relegation. People tend to be exasperated that they are still here and are still messing things up.
