Silly season is upon us!

Barcelona though, what a shambles they are at the moment. Was reading before about a load of their directors resigning too. They’ve squandered loads of money on big money signings that haven’t delivered/been badly managed or injured a lot. The obvious alarm bell for me was when they sold a young lad in Arthur to Juventus in a swap deal for Pjanic who’s 30 years old! There’s too much focus and reliance on Messi and while he’s obviously outstanding, he needs more support. Couldn’t help but have a bit of a snigger at Coutinho coming off the bench and bagging two for Bayern against his parent club....

The transfer thread always brings out the worst in people, that’s just how it always seems to be on here. Reporting posts notifies all the mods directly, so it’s a good system. It beats replying to someone being a whopper, which then takes the thread off topic and ends up being a full on row about what one person has said, instead of the subject matter before we know it. This is frustrating for everyone and we want to reduce the frustration everyone experiences. It shouldn’t annoy anyone to come on here, it should be something we all enjoy. With the amount of time I spend on here personally, you’d think it was my favourite hobby! Ultimately, the take away from this should be- if something needs to be reported, report it and just keep scrolling....

Just because it’s the way Mowbray wants to play that way, doesn’t mean it’s the right way. Wouldn’t you rather have a defender whose primary ability was defending and not passing? I think the most frustrating thing about this pursuit is that Mowbray used to be a centre half himself!

As another poster has alluded to, if they ran the club properly, they probably wouldn’t have had to pay that much out. They aren’t philanthropic, they are absolutely disastrous.

They own the club. Covering any finances falls on them, it’s not complicated. We are only in this situation because of actions they have taken. The buck stops with them.

I’m also delighted they are doing the bare minimum expected of them as owners of the club....

I can’t imagine it would, tbh. His numbers aren’t all that good really. I’m sure Thomas Frank will improve him though, like he has with Ollie Watkins and others, for example.
