  1. Because you don't even know what the team is yet, nobody does! I wouldn't say there's much difference between any of the goalkeepers, in terms of quality tbh. Neither are spectacular, but Butland has probably made more errors of late, certainly at club level....
  2. 100%. Godin is class at the back, but other than that, man for man Belgium are way better. Belgium's achilles heel will be in the dug out.....
  3. He hasn't even picked the team yet, so you're basing this ramble on rumour. Wait until Monday before slagging off the squad, eh? In the words of Graeme Souness: 'We've got to wee with the willy we've got'.
  4. I think people need to accept that it's okay to disagree with decisions Mowbray has made without: 1) Being negative 2) Calling for his head Literally every manager of any football club on the planet will have his decisions questioned from time to time.
  5. I always seemed to have the idea that there were less goals at a World Cup in the main, I suppose Russia put paid to that theory. My mate made the suggestion yesterday that the Saudi players might have been tired as it was the last day of Ramadan yesterday? Either way, I didn't think Russia would have been so much better than them.....
  6. Heskey looked unplayable when he first burst onto the scene, then initially at Liverpool. IMO, it was simply a confidence thing with him. If enough people say you're no good, you'll probably start to believe it yourself if you're not the strongest-willed person on the planet....
  7. Not at all, but it just seemed to be a better idea to discuss rather than simply laugh at someone’s post. Note likely to wind people up in my view, especially when it wasn’t intended as a a joke...
  8. I like all of that bar that jacket Joe Nuttall is sporting. Think that's a bit daring....
  9. Although it is silly season, I can only suggest more productive uses of time than arguing with strangers on the internet....
  10. Instead of laughing, why not use your words and give some examples of Colombian players better than their English counterparts bar Falcao and James Rodriguez that Roverandout kindly offered up. Surely, if it was such a laughable suggestion it shouldn't be too difficult for you....
  11. Lads- can we stop deliberately winding each other up please? Do it via PM to your heart's content, just not in the threads. Thanks in advance.
  12. In fairness to Forest, they had an embargo along with Leeds around the time we did. I honestly expect the powers that be to give up on FFP, given how many teams have admitted to blatantly ignoring it.
  13. I believe Scousers would call them 'wools'.
  14. I don't know, JAL. We'll see by the end of the window if that's the case or not. There's a while yet before the season starts.....
  15. Re Conway, as long as we sign some better, quicker and younger players in the same position, it's not the worst signing in the world, but as others have observed, at home, he shouldn't be starting. He did alright enough in a few appearances towards the end of the season, but we can't let sentiment cloud our judgement. He's been a good servant to the club, but his legs looked like they had gone last season for the most part IMO.
  16. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/jun/13/psg-uefa-ffp-raise-funds-rules?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other Vinjay will go mental- a link to the Guardian and PSG escaping sanctions in FFP. Which seems totally legit btw....
  17. I’ve seen a few tbh. Might want to get out of Bank Top. (Perhaps not the worst life advice, as it goes...)
  18. I think my old man used to teach him. He was at Newcastle and ended up having ammonia sprayed in his face on a night out....
  19. Warren G- Super soul sis
  20. Bruce walking away would be the easy option. He had a very good budget last season and while he was there. He also signed loads of players on loan. Not getting that squad promoted is a failure and it’s his failure. The chairman deserves credit for backing him, if anything. That being said, I rate the guy as a manager and he has a good record, but like anyone, he’s not above criticism.
  21. Best option all around IMO and allays most of our fears about the deal. We still need more cover up front and in several different positions, but this is a good move and hopefully the start of more deals to come.
  22. That’s all well and good, but if they don’t win football matches, he’ll be out on his ear post haste. This isn’t a do at you by the way Chaddy, but I also don’t know who Swansea think they are by talking about a ‘philosophy’ as though they’re Barcelona. Delusions of grandeur or what?
  23. Couldn’t agree more. Fair enough, his finishing probably could improve, but his numbers are way better than Rashford’s and before anyone says ‘but Rashford plays out wide a lot of the time’, so does Sterling. Don’t get me wrong, I love Rashford and they should both be starting, but since Sterling was scapegoated a couple of years ago, people just don’t ever seem to take to him. (Even when there were loads of other players that were truly hideous at the last Euros). It’s a funny old game.
  24. The ringside fight that temporarily distracted Fury was even better...
  25. His comments about Sol Campbell are just ludicrous. Campbell doesn’t get jobs because he’s a whopper with a massive chip on his shoulder, it’s not complicated. Maybe he has a point with Black managers not getting jobs en masse, but having a meltdown on Twitter isn’t the way to go about things. As well as using disgraceful terms either.
