  1. Hey Chaddy, I left school decades ago ! Not willy waving but I posted two previous 'big' exclusives over a week ago and you dismissed them as 'at best guesswork'. Anyhow, enough of the playground stuff. Clearly, I have more conviction in what, IMV, will happen as you wont take on the 2 * £100 charity bets. Either stop slagging me off or put your money where your mouth is. If I talk b o l l o c k s and get nothing right, what are you afraid of ? As you have often said 'simples'.
  2. It gets under your skin Chaddy ! You need to chill and relax - whatever you say / post on this MB, no matter how many times you say it, wont make it come true! You conveniently ignore some of the big stuff I've got right and put that down to wild guessing! Tell you what - if Rovers spend more than £1.5m net on transfer fees this window, I will donate £100 to a charity PROVIDED you do the same if Rovers don't spend more £1.5m net on transfer fees this window If you want the same £100 charity 'bet' on Dack being a Rovers' player when the season kicks off then I'll take it. Either put up or shut up.
  3. It's all about spin. How do you define 'positive news'. The positive news may well be that Mowbray has a neutral transfer budget - in other words, he can spend what he realises. That could be construed as positive, though I imagine it would disappoint most fans (especially Chaddy) given Venky's have 'lost' some £150million to date .
  4. Sadly, where the LT is concerned, I think informed and intelligent journalism went out of the window years ago.
  5. If we spend £1.5 million on PLAYERS this summer then I'll be amazed!!!
  6. Kevin Moran joined us when he was 34 years old and stayed until he was 38 years old playing some 150 games - an inspirational and influential talisman. Tony Gale joined Rovers at the age of 35 and was a key figure in the team that won the PL. Craig Short joined us at 31 years old and we got 6 excellent seasons out of him. Your thinking seems very muddled and naïve at times.
  7. Nonsense. Are you saying Mulgrew is less fit thsn Tugay?
  8. Good call. The learning for Lenihan would be incredible (even though we class him as a 'youngster' at 24!) and would free up Charlie for the holding midfield role bringing class, know how and stability.
  9. Will be interesting to see where he ends up next season after his one year Brum deal. Think the lad needs to realise he got very luck with Rovers and he needs to slash his wage demands otherwise it's only the cat he'll be kicking next season.
  10. I draw two conclusions from Mowbray's statement. Firstly, IMV, there is too much bowing and scraping going on with Venky's - he says 'humbly' twice - and it is not indicative of the healthy and robust type of relationship needed between owners and management. Secondly, there is very little money to be made available and this is going to be a lengthy and slow build - just hope there's enough available to stop us falling back through the trap door.
  11. Come on, you know what I mean! Some players are injury prone and you know their game time is limited. Some players never seem to get injured or play through the pain barrier. As players get older, they tend to pick up more injuries and take longer to come back. We need players who we can rely on being fit and available for most of the season.
  12. and another reason why he should go. We need players out on the grass not lying in the treatment room.
  13. 20 players there. IMV: Should be okay - 5 players Might have something to offer but jury very much out - 10 players Bin - spent forces / liabilities with nothing to offer - 5 players To the 'might have something to offer but jury very much out' I would add Tomlinson and Wharton, however, they are both 20 and approaching 21 and they need to be given a chance in our first team to show if they have it or not (not 15 minutes here or there or in some Mickey Mouse competition). What I've seen of them, they have a chance but they need opportunity - this is one of the things that does my head in with Mowbray. So there we have it. A minimum of six quality additions or we are in trouble.
  14. Really? Thought some of Fulham's football was sublime. Hope they win the final - football in this country needs more of their style.
  15. It's going to be daunting. Having said that, promoted teams usually have momentum. Good managers maintain that and bring in quality additions to help. Mowbray worries me. Tactically, I think he's all over the place at times, trying to be too clever by half. We talk about young players of 22, 23 and 24 years of age. Fulham's Sessegnon is still 17, Liverpool's Arnold is just 19 and playing in the white hot atmosphere of the Champions League whilst Mowbray is seemingly 'nursing' 24 year old Bell and as one poster on here put it, 'doesn't want to throw him into the pressure of a League 1 promotion battle'. Baffling!
  16. We are chronically short pace - our best three players (Mulgrew, Dack & Graham) have none.
  17. Having watched Fulham and Derby, we are light years away from competing at the top end of the Championship. Said for some time, we need some quality additions - a minimum of 6 to make us competitive. Conway needs shipping out - we can't afford to be topping up players' pensions. We face a huge challenge just to stay up. Is Mogga the man? Likes of Jokanovic and Rowett are different class.
  18. Needed 1st team games, Bristol was ideal move and he joined Swansea in the PL. Think he'll be on loan to another PL club next season.
  19. Great to see the Shrews in the final - let's hope they make it all the way. Stories like that are great for football.
  20. If we got Tammy Abraham it would be a real coup - a statement of intent and I reckon he would put 1,000+ on season ticket sales Armstrong, Samuel, Nuttall before Abraham ?!?! - think someone has seriously been affected by sun and beer today. Sadly, I don't think Abraham would touch us.
  21. Sorry, think you've got it wrong. Please show me where I've said he will definitely be gone.
  22. You obviously didn't read my earlier post.
  23. Really? Think you need to check the archives!
  24. Largely irrelevant. If Dack wants offski he will go and for nowhere near what you would like. It is not wise for any football club to keep a dissatisfied asset - it becomes a case of getting the best deal you can and that best deal is only what some other club is prepared to pay.
