  1. Past hour
  2. I've said many times I thought he was one of our slightly better players. I'd agree with Chaddy he'd be worth about Β£15k p.w over 3 years. Why do people criticise Dolan for only scoring "the odd goal" (seven last season actually) but never anyone else for scoring similar or less?
  3. You are funny, Dolan was kicked out/let go from Preston who deemed him not good enough for the 1st team, we picked him up gave him a chance, but can you really say he has improved year on year (his hairstyle has) to be saying he should be on 15k upwards.
  4. For what it's worth I don't think he's worth that but what I do think is we should have renewed his contract 2 years ago and sold him for Β£2m if possible. We are an inexcusably bad business model and in normal circumstances anyone behind these failures would be fired. It's laughable.
  5. 5day test cricket can be the best sport in the world. As a footnote Lancs are ballotting members on 4 day county cricket. Lancs are a democratic club, owned by their members, having to abide by their members decisions. The ECB want to change the format of national cricket. Currently there are 14 games a season but Lancs aren’t giving their members the option of retaining that. They are giving them only three options. All of which mean cutting the number to 12 games in order to fit in the Hundred during the peak months of summer.
  6. Neither of them are ready for more than just an occasional substitute appearance.
  7. Every manager and player is here solely for the pay cheque to be fair.
  8. Montgomery started one game there. He got sent off. Duru played one minute and injury time.
  9. So how much would you pay for a player to run down the wing hit a brick wall more than not and get the odd great cross in and the odd goal here and there. Enthusiasm is great but defo not the finished product otherwise he would already be at another club.so it will be interesting to see where he ends up.
  10. Brittain will be a loss I don’t know how anybody could think differently
  11. trying to make the point of position on the pitch. And I completely agree with the Baath one, hes a massive loss, we are short at CB and he was a leader. Its also a key position which is not always easy to fill. I dont look at Brittain and think leader....
  12. Good business for Venky's - money straight into their pockets. Good business for Pasha, Gestede and Owen - bonuses on the way. Good business for the team ? - Absolutely not
  13. He's gone from here as his contract has expired. He's not gone anywhere else - yet.
  14. Solid, experienced Championship player, like Baath. We don't have many, and they're both gone, and unlikely to be replaced. They will be missed. At a struggling, badly managed club like ours, I don't see why anyone cannot see this is a big deal.
  15. yeh i get what you mean. Cost cut every corner i know.
  16. For me it’s not how good or not he is. It’s how much worse his replacement would likely be.
  17. All unemployed and desperate to get back working in the Championship. Lambert needed a steady job after the Villa experience, Mowbray was unemployable in the Championship and had been turned down by Chesterfield after the state he left Coventry in. JDT wanted a route into England to enhance his reputation and foolishly believed this was a serious outfit and Eustace needed to build on his short Birmingham spell and had been overlooked by numerous other Championship clubs over the previous 6 months. Common denominator - all were unemployed and keen to work - and all realised after getting into the building the true nature of the Venky beast. Lambert, JDT and Eustace couldn't wait to get out of here. The first two preferred unemployment to staying here any longer, the latter preferred to gamble his career on an uphill battle to avoid League One at Derby County. Odd one out Mowbray but he managed to get his holiday to India at the start which got his feet under the table and the assurances he wanted, and even then he was undermined and disgracefully treated in his last 12-18 months. Ismael will go the same way as Lambert, JDT and Eustace. If he makes it to 12 months I will be amazed.
  18. We looked better under Eustace collectively because we were solid as a unit. He might of been better than the previous season, but id say its a bit far fetched to say he was brilliant. Hes not a massive loss imo. Its a fullback, most younger players can usually slip in pretty well at full back with a bit of experience around them. Look at owen beck, even montgomery looked 'ok' there, and even Duru away against burnley when we were down to 10 looked 'ok there', even costello did ok there at times. Its not the hardest position out the 11 to fill imo. Id say its one of the 'easier' positions to fill out of an 11. Im not underplaying his ability because hes leaving, its my honest opinion. Its good money for a fullback thats replaceable. Brittains an ok footballer, he wont define how our season will shape whether he stays or goes. Just my opinion.
  19. Which even if correct puts him probably about two brackets above the calibre of player we're currently targeting.
  20. Brittain was a key player last season. To say it's not a big deal and then say Duru (who has played the sum total of 1 whole minute in the Championship) is ready to replace him is fantasy talk. Montgomery is currently ahead of him as are new signing Alebiosu. None of them are nowhere near Brittain's quality at the moment, though. I get the the feeling that some posters on here are deliberately trying to downplay every outgoing from the club, whether it's Dolan, Brittain, Batth or someone else...
  21. I bet he doesn't transfer once in his career for anything over Β£3m. Hard-worker, poor technique, weak finisher, not that quick but is over inflated because he's young, English and has played way too many games at an underinvested club. We've made him appear better than he is. I'm absolutely certain he wouldn't have got the number of appearances he did with us at any other top 8 Championship club... and he's cashing in on it. He's low risk now but I'm not sure anyone decent ever would have taken the risk on him.
  22. You could look at it at a different way, Would Dolan be in the first team squad regularly at Norwich? If he was in and around the first team mainly as sub for the last 2 years and only made 15 appearances, mainly as sub appearances. Then how much would he be worth? I would say Β£1million. Still doesn't make any difference that he should of been allowed to run his contract down with Rovers receiving zero. Is Brittain a villian for pushing for a move with a year left on his contract which he knows he won't renew with the peanuts that Rovers will offer him, or does he earn Β£3 million for the club that has looked after him and improved him for the last few years. Look at Dolan, Brereton, Lenihan, Nyambe to name a few in the last few years that have completely sold us as fans and the club who had nurtured them. The real villains are Venkys, pasha and gestede for the piss poor management and driving these players out with our league 1 budget
  23. Just read the Lancashire Telegraph comments on the Dolan article and it has absolutely blown my mind how fast people turn on a player without seeing the wood for the trees on this one. its not that the player is greedy, or has an enormous ego - purely it’s because we as a club haven’t made a suitable offer and likely absolutely low balled him no wonder venkys are still here, still pulling the same shit and getting away with it
  24. Mabe Travis's answer of "When they offer me one" really meant "when they offer me one worth considering".
