The tournament in general was very enjoyable, I totally agree. He certainly didnt ruin the tournament overall. The Littler games were boring though. Van Veen got an average of 100+ and still it was not competitive. The fact that the games are so boring IMO when Littler plays is purely because he is so good. Its a positive reflection on him. I dont think its realistic to expect people to step up to his level, hes a bit of a freak. I imagine it was the same in the Taylor days.

Poor is harsh. Against anyone else he would have gone close or probably won. It’s just Littler was that good. Van Veen averaged 107.5 in set 7 and only got three darts at a double in the whole set. Littler’s problem is he is just a bit arrogant, and people are starting to notice. Same way Taylor was. Humphries won practically everything In a 12 month period and still came across as quite humble.

Spot on, it's as much the way he plays as anything. There are certain positions where players can play a full 90 minutes game in, game out. It should be obvious to anyone that Ohashi's role isn't one of them,without it affecting performance.

I think Dlamini looks better than Henrikson and I’d be playing him instead even though I barely know what he’s good or bad at 😂 Henrikson is not a striker at all. Even if Tyjon won’t sign a deal, we are now desperate so just bloody play him. We are losing him anyway so what’s the point of cutting our nose off to spite our face? There has been some great moments in the tournament. Hood vs Noppert game, Van Veen against Humphries and Anderson are stand outs. Closer games and upsets are always better for sure but sometimes it’s just good to witness real quality So it is not as though Littler ruined the tournament. What he has given the tournament though is a masterclass - very high scoring and very entertaining in how he goes about dismantling people Unfortunately, that means on some days he blows his opponent away. On others, it’s a better game. The Humphries final last year being an example. Other people need to step up to his level He was the spectacle today. It would have been nicer if Van Veen performed more like he did vs Anderson, but he was poor throughout and lost his head after the 3rd set was decided. Not Littlers fault. I enjoyed it tonight - each to their own I guess

Which arguably is exacerbated by running him into the ground. His finishing was fine last season and seems to have dropped off a cliff and has got worse as we've gone on. He was much more effective when we had options to rotate and use tactically(regardless of what you feel about those options).

I wasn't a neutral tonight but wanted Littler to win. Players like Josh Rock, Johnny Clayton, Chris Dobey other favourites of mine but Littler is my favourite In fact, Its been great competitive tournament this year to watch..

Monday will be one of the most depressing days in a long while for many, I’ve worked a fair bit in between Xmas and NY though so I’m sound on that count. Rovers have the potential to tip folk over the edge tomorrow, in 2 minds wether to watch. It's not lack of freshness that's Ohashi's problem, it's a frequently poor first touch and general lack of ruthlessness in front of goal. Edit: With the benefit of hindsight that's probably why we picked him up for a reported £250k.

Probably sums up our current state perfectly that a striker from our under 18s not being involved or even starting can be seen as "mental."

Remember when Charlton were sliding away in their managed decline phase ? Well here we are now so anyone who thinks this should be a routine win needs to think again. They are the favourites in this one so i'll take anything we can get.

We keep pulling off Henriksson when it's really Ohashi who needs the breather. Works endlessly but he's been on empty for a while because we have no backup. Especially in games where we're not even having shots, there really is no downside to giving some of the young lads a go and allowing Yuki a little respite. The less said about Henriksson's contributions the better.

So if rumours are to be believed, we will have focused our "getting signings in straight away" time on bringing in a CB and recalling O'Riordan, padding out arguably the one position of least concern (except maybe goalkeeper)?
