  1. Past hour
  2. I will only say that whatever is going on at Rovers is clearly toxic. I don't think Ismael has anything to do with that, but I it does seem to me as though he has been frank with the supporters. I think that deserves some credit. @RevidgeBlue says Ismael has had 14 games, which is true (give or take, I haven't counted), but I was referring to the new players having only had four league games to gel when I said "they". Everyone has their own threshold, but 4 games is still too early for me to solidify any sort of final judgment. They deserve a bit of time to settle in, and we need this window closed so we can move on from another chaotic transfer window. I'm not over-enamoured with Ismael in terms of results. At the same time, I can see from here that he's in the midst of a squad upheaval. Yes. I know. We've had transitional periods, turmoil, and whatnot since day 1 of the Venky's. They are poor custodians on that front, and it goes without saying. The only way that we (the supporters) will ever get to a point of being united and happy again is if they sell up and we're run by, let's say, normal people who get involved and show some form of care or passion. On transfers, even if we have been signing younger players from abroad, we have at least been proactive and done our business quite quickly. That can't be said too much of transfer windows gone by. The jury will obviously be out on all players (and my take is that they deserve more than just four league games), but with our budget and losses, surely everyone can see that we can't just splurge every player sale back onto other players. The numbers just won't add up. Anyway, that's my brief take. I've got a bit more patience in the tank, but Ismael certainly needs to turn results around on the pitch, that's for sure.
  3. Unplayable against West Brom last year. I've haven't seen Yuki look unplayable in almost a year....... or ever.
  4. Poor track record and his clubโ€™s fans not impressed and glad to take the money. Another gamble along with all the other new boys by the look it. He might come good but you have to say itโ€™s highly unlikely
  5. On Gueye...he needs some games for the reserves to get sharp.. there will be games when he will get us points ala Sheffield w and WBA away last season.
  6. I am sure all his agents are delighted. Agents Pasha, Gestede and Owen, along their friends behind the scenes, obviously think it is a great idea to sign an injured player
  7. We still got Ipswich, Sheffield U and Derby under us in the league so hopefully we can kick on after the international break..we were always going to be unsettled in this window...
  8. Andri Still made his national team, and I don't think it's because of his days at Gent. So there must be something there, where he has played well to have been selected for his national team. Re Makhtar, some of you are hypocrites to be honest, because when he was scoring for us, he was the man. Now that he isn't playing well, he has to be sold.
  9. Has great international stats and not just against teams like San Marino, scored in his last games against Turkey, Wales and a beauty against Scotland
  10. I am not writing Michalski off. To suggest I am is twisting what I am saying. He shouldnt be expected to be immediate backup at a Championship club at his age and has displayed that he isnt ready for that. You keep saying maybe Ismael is happy with this and that. We dont know but even if he is, any manager isnt beyond question and Ismael certainly isnt.
  11. Think we will get a proven midfielder in on loan as Forshaw still injured.
  12. Well none of us wanted George Hirst to start and he did fine in the Prem, so I'll give this guy a full season or two before judging... Good luck to him!
  13. Interesting signing this Gudjohnsen. He has something to prove and has a good pedigree and international. He did well for Lyngby in the Danish Superliga and has a been at both Barcelona and Real Madrid academies. If this works out he will be a big hit! Only 23. His father was a really good striker for Chelsea!
  14. Order one of our 1950โ€™s shirts ๐Ÿ˜‰
  15. Im glad that we have signed a striker because it hopefully reduces the chance of Makhtar Gueye getting on the pitch for us. Ohashi also needs some competition, he is ok but nothing special. But im not convinced on paper by the signing. He seems to have had a really poor season for Gent, their fans dont seem fond of him (contrast that to Legia fans gutted to lose Morishita) and his goal record is unremarkable. His season in Denmark at a lesser level and his international record before that do provide some encouragement and he is young. I fear that this will be our last signing but we certainly need more.
  16. Yeh and he father was a great striker so heโ€™s got some good influence around him- hopefully he follows his father and progresses more like erling did
  17. Itโ€™s true id be happy if he gets 20 goals for us this season we will sell everyone under this leadership so I accept that but if he gets 20 goals at least it gives us something to enjoy, unlike yesterday
  18. Questioning whether concerned fans are actually supporters, exaggerating what people are saying (-100 points) and telling them not to be negative. Ticked all the boxes there.
  19. Gueyeโ€™s stats in Belgium league V the new signings stats in the Belgium league.
  20. Remember reading last summer that Gestede has contacts in a few teams in Belgium & France (and apparently now also Saudi Arabia, which was mentioned by Elliott Jackson in one of his articles about Buckley being sold) From what I can work out, the Eastern European ones are more likely to be the works of Adam Owen & possibly also now Sadowski. Owen was also credited last summer with Ohashi Michal Cairney who joined in the summer seems to be mainly UK picks If that is the case, then Gestede picks - Gueye, DeNeve, Alebiosu, Gudjohnsen Owen/Sadowski picks - Toth, Ohashi, Morishita Cairney - McLoughlin, Miller ? - Henriksson, Kargbo, Tavares, Baradji, Ribeiro

  22. Chris Clark - From Head To Toe
  23. You would blame Ismael for contracts not being sorted earlier? For players wanting to get more money elsewhere?
  24. If heโ€™d bagged 15 goals last season he wouldnโ€™t be signing for us (take a look at what Ipswich have just spent on a new signing from the same league). Young players can have a bad season, it happens. He may not have settled in Belgium. There could be many reasons why itโ€™s not worked out for him. I mentioned Woldemate previously. He was released by Bremen on a free after one bad season, a year later and heโ€™s going for silly money. We just donโ€™t know how the new lad will get on but itโ€™s an exciting signing with potential. Itโ€™s another decent length contract so letโ€™s hope he performs. The window has been interesting. Some good and some bad so far. Our current run of 1 win in 5 is a massive concern and needs to be turned around quickly. I have a horrible feeling weโ€™ll come to regret signing an injured CM. Personally think we needed a proper replacement for Travis. Just hoping that there is some interest in Browne, heโ€™d be perfect.
  25. Rovers have some new tie-up with Belgian football? Yet another. Not necessarily a bad thing but just wondering who is doing the scouting.
  26. kaa gent fans donโ€™t rate himโ€ฆ.
