  1. Past hour
  2. before yesterday game we have the 6th best defensive record in the league would suggest they are better than you say they are
  3. Injuries have cost us this season to key players. I think 3 or 4 signings is what we need and stay up, then re-asses everything in the summer. the summer window is a much better one is get rid of players we don't want then this window.
  4. So here we are less than 50 hours from a home game at the end of the New Year holidays and no thread. The Wrexham and Sheffield Wednesday "performances" were so bad the Blackburn jury has rung in sick - or is too apathetic to even pick up the mobile. After showing signs of life, Rovers have turned in two absolute horror shows of no energy rubbish rivalled only by the horror show offered up in the 3-0 defeat at.. Charlton. After being depressed beyond description I ventured to watch the second half of Charlton v Coventry and to depress us even further, Charlton should have got a similar scoreline in their favour as they did against us. Coventry got very lucky as Charlton overran them they did when we were at the Valley early in the season. Having said that Kaminsky was outstanding the couple of times he needed to be involved (twice more than against us), Ama'ari Bell was a rock against Hadji Wright and Sims while MoM and goal scorer was JRC who had the sort of sensational game he used to have for us every so often. Oh boy, are we going to have our transfer dealings rubbed into the Ewood mud on Sunday! Impossible to see anything except a really humiliating defeat.
  5. Yeah, he's their best player by some distance. Tavares is not comparable in any way. Will Lankshear has been decent for them on loan from Spurs as well.
  6. And some bad ones. Any kit where the colours aren’t reversed, can be a good one
  7. I'm convinced that one of the main reasons for Gestede getting the job he has is that he has sold himself to the Indians / goon in the shadows as someone who has extensive knowledge and contacts and that by avoiding the loan market we will develop assets on the cheap which will make them more money. Or alternatively that they have given him the job and instructed him to do this rather than the past approach of going to Brighton/Liverpool etc. and begging for players. All comes back to them trying to impress the higher ups and keep their jobs on the gravy train - Alebiosu working out well and Gudjohnsen too so a sale of one or both for a good profit keeps the money men happy
  8. If you think two cloggers like Miller and McLoughlin are good players then yes, it’s a question of standards.
  9. Yes. Gestede, Conway, Cairney signing here permanently under Bowyer's first season. Also the season, we got promotion from league 1 under Mowbray
  10. before yesterday game we have the 6th best defensive record in the league. How is playing at 3 back negative? and we don't play with 2 DM's. Tronstad plays the DM and Baradji and Cantwell play the box to box roles. more bollocks about standards. The 6th best defensive record in the league before yesterday game, how that for standard argument you make? We need another forward signing for sure, that would add as would some creatively in midfield as well would help this team
  11. Derby already signed two players no excuses
  12. I wouldn’t want this fella managing them.
  13. Doesnt mean that the manager isnt shit.
  14. Do you recall a time, under Venkys, where the January window has produced the outcome you describe above?
  15. Of course it has impacted them It has meant half a billion less revenue, which has meant a decreased on pitch product and over a decade of mismanagement, culminating in some very embarrassing moments for Rovers During that time, a certain few people have continued to pocket 6 figure yearly salaries. It pays well to manage a decline
  16. I don't care 'what type' of owner we get, as long as it isn't Venkys there's a very strong chance the club will benefit from it. 'Proper checks' - those being the same that allowed Venkys to get hold of this institution and destroy it in the first place and ever since has offered no protection whatsoever despite continued neglect and ruin? Checks such as allowing us to operate without a board of directors, without a Chief Executive, relying on silent Bob to provide a façade of normality, allowing shadowy characters to run the club from the background? Checks are a waste of time and guarantee nothing. This is a club with a serious and probably terminal illness. It needs urgent surgery/medication to remove the cause of that illness. That's the point we are at. Failure to address the illness will probably mean the death of BRFC. We can worry about what comes next when it actually arrives. And if the next lot are awful too then we'll deal with that issue when it comes. Would you turn down live saving surgery on the basis you weren't sure how you would feel afterwards? Because that's the equivalent here. Stick with Venkys and enjoy the ride to oblivion because you 'aren't sure' 'what sort' of owner 'might' replace them. There are two issues. Getting the club wreckers out asap, and then worrying about what comes next. The first part is non-negotiable as far as I and most sensible people are concerned - it has to happen and as soon as possible whilst there is still some semblance of a club left to recover. Part two is something that can only happen and be worried about once part one has happened.
  17. What are the odds that the game will be called off due to a frozen pitch, I wonder... may well be worth a cheeky punt at this point. Going back to the game yesterday, other than that thunderbolt from Baradji, we looked completely unable to threaten their goal, which got me reflecting upon the various passages of play that we were made to endure. Someone else has already pointed out how Cantwell consistently slows the pace of attacks down, and plays the ball back more often than not, rather than seeking the killer pass (not withstanding there being no-one to pass to, of course). He is capable of so much more, but just doesn't seem interested in contributing anything except petulance and de-minimis effort. The pedestrian pace with which we moved the ball about was in marked contrast to the more penetrative and incisive movement shown by the Wrexham lot, whose passing and holding play were solid throughout. Not saying that Wrexham were any great shakes, though - it just brought me to my main point in writing this: They certainly seemed to have turned up with a plan, whereas Rovers continued where they left off at Hillsborough, which meant more aimless meandering, no meaningful movement off the ball, and a complete lack of coherence - precisely the 'tactics' that failed to work on Monday evening. There is no need for any deep scrutiny to identify the underlying cause of the problem. The question is, what are the club going to do to address it? If, as it seems, there is no intention to plug the obvious gaps (in particular the lack of attacking threat) and simply to wait for injuries to key players from the current crop to clear up, then I don't think anyone can be blamed for wanting to vote with their feet and stay away until there is a full squad to select from, because anything else means you are signalling to the club that it is ok for them to continue their crazy and inept experiment. Why anyone would pay for such 'entertainment' is beyond me (noting of course that many of you are season ticket holders whose trousers were long ago nailed to the floor around your deluded ankles). So, Sunday's game against Charlton? It is not looking like anyone is coming in to address the clear deficiencies, which means an even greater likelihood of further pedestrian slop being served up, which in turn means fewer folk will be motivated to brave the draughty climes of Ewood Park than might otherwise have been inclined to go. I'll wait for the Charlton thread before I post any predictions, but despite the old saying that it is always darkest before the dawn, I'm more and more inclined to think the mothballs piled around the stadium are preparation for the long sleep, rather than anticipation of a spring upswing for the club. How long now till the only thing left of Blackburn Rovers is the BRFCS.COM forum? Bah, bloody humbug to it all. Feck the VENKY Scrooges Feck the faceless shoulder-shrink gaslighting toady wanker Suhail Pasha Feck the guile-less French guttersnip in short kecks with his moron-level plans RG To Hell with them! We are already there... 😞 VENKYS OUT!
  18. Experienced and fit to play? Asking for far too much.
  19. Yeah, we will be reyt. Just need a couple of signings as the cherry on top of the cake that is our otherwise functioning team. "Top spy" Gestede will sort it.
  20. The squad we have assembled ,is set to FAIL and unless something drastic happens in January , it will do ! Drastic , I mean 3 or 4 experienced championship footballers , who are fit to play ! I know , it won't happen !
  21. I suspect they will be more suitable than Venkys.
  22. Gav, do you think I know where we are in the league and am I worried about going down? Not at this stage. What we need a couple signings like a forward and creatively midfielder plus a centre back. its clear what we in terms of new signings now, its over to Rudy to deliver on that?
  23. I was listening to the Blackburn End podcast and they predicted this very outcome, if we did not rest him and play Pickering ( I think) instead...
  24. Yes. They think he's a class above what else they've got.
