That O’Reilly had the best chance in the second half but by the time he’d switched the ball from being a right foot shot onto his “ favoured “ left foot the chance had gone ! I despair of modern footballers that are so one footed. What do the do in training ? -
I hope for Palace win for a different team to win something.

I was thinking that. It was definitely outside the box and it was a definite handball. -
No I dont agree cos none of the top 6 wanted to buy him plus I think move to Palace was a good one for him cos he played regular PL football instead of being on the bench. He has shone and 18 months his next move he is ready now for that next step. A move to Liverpool would be good move for him in my opinion. You witness the development of Curtis Jones this season under Slot.

Hasn't she retire instead of being made redundant? -
We really played hardball there didn't we. Palace took advantage of our dire financial situation - that's the bottom line. If you don't agree fine but that is the fact which underpins the whole debate.
-
Palace in Europe so I hope Adam decides to stay for another season. That would prevent Venky's getting another immediate windfall to flush down the toilet. They can then use the famous 'no impediment' route to fund the club.

That's what @unleadedsaid and I believe him over supposedly rumour -
Worth noted we rejected Palace's first bid. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5224892/2024/01/25/crystal-palace-adam-wharton-transfer-blackburn/ Going to Palace was the right move for him playing time wise instead of moving to a bigger club straight away. Liverpool now after him https://onefootball.com/it/notizie/liverpool-considering-formal-bid-to-sign-21-year-old-premier-league-star-report-41123246 And Read Madrid aswell https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/another-englishman-real-madrid-spanish-giants-scouting-adam-wharton-crystal-palace-performances-liverpool-monitor-midfielder/blt2a9f8bf17f0ce683

Why wasn't a free-kick given for handball ?
-
I honestly can't remember many clear cut chances for City and again, from memory most of their six shots on target were from outside the box. The service to Haaland was poor in my opinion particularly the lack of balls into the box where he is dangerous. Tactically Palace got it spot on for me as they denied City space to run in behind. Palace can play some good stuff but yesterday showed that there are more than one way to win a match and ultimately that's the most important thing.

I just fucking love this bloke. -
Yeah, it was absolutely wild, that!

A good thing might be, is that Pratt is one of those old fashioned center halves.
-
though I cannot believe that Henderson stayed on the pitch....extraordinary.
-
Quite a few of the "lesser" teams play that way in the Premier League now, or they try to----Wolves, Bournemouth, Brentford, Forest, Fulham. That's what I was arguing last week--EPL much more enjoyable to watch these days.
-
Your first five words are the most telling.
-
Pep Guardiola is such a bad loser. They were done fair and square yesterday and how he was with Henderson at full time, was absolutely pathetic.
-
True to a great extent but City should have won that game--missed several chances they'd usually take though Henderson was superb. Haaland was poor. I usually find Palace's style more to my liking, they score some great goals but they were camped in their own half yesterday. Looked more like a Div 1 team with the odd excursion upfield.

Indeed, obviously running a football club and all its elements half way around the world is far too expensive for them… so they keep hold of it, because… - Today

Indeed, it will make all the lemming coaches and DoFs at the various levels of the game (and academies) look a tad silly when League 2 centre halves and goalkeepers are expected to be centre halves and goalkeepers again.

I really the I think the days of Pepball are coming to an end and yesterday was a perfect example why as the high press was dispensed with. On paper City had the best players and manager but Glasner is a smart cookie and let City have the ball in their own half but as soon as they tried to advance they closed them down. Guardiola didn't have an answer to this as he can only play one way. How many opportunities did City overlook to put the ball in the box. On the few occasions they did they looked dangerous. Haaland must tear his hair out at players like Doku. I think the footballing snobs might point to the statistics which were overwhelmingly in City's favour but the most important one was that Palace scored 100% of the goals.
