  2. Travis fee, Buckley fee, Leonard maybe 200k or something? Plus wages. Their replacements will be on wages sub 10k a week...
  3. I thought he was just ok at Rovers so no confirmation bias. I always thought he’d get a better move than being here by letting his contract run out, but surprised he ended up at somewhere like Espanyol. But in two appearances he has looked good for them. Just look on twitter. These are just a handful of examples.
  4. More of our players are linked away too, @ruggles1995 so it's a double-edged sword. Hope we can get an announcement tomorrow for the Japanese lad.
  5. What's changed in Rovers transfer dealings? Suddenly have a bit of budget? I don't understand
  6. Good win Saturday with a good performance. I like the fact we are now linked with more than 1 player. We’re about 2/3 players of quality short to have a potential playoff sniffing squad I think. Can’t say I know anything about the players we are lined with. But the good sign is hopefully they want more than 1 more signing. Need the depth
  7. I think most of the frustration from Rovers fans were down to us believing that there was a player in there - he just never seemed to grow out of the unnecessary stepovers and pivots. Had he stuck to the basics and worked harder on things like crossing and finishing, he'd be much higher rated. However, hopefully a fresh start for him will help him kick on.
  8. Agree wholeheartedly on this. We will sign a couple of loans you would imagine, could see one being a keeper.
  9. Buckley has coasted through his time here and will continue coasting wherever he ends up once he's got the ink dry on a new contract. Looks like another of those just happy to play football for money and not bothered about anything else.
  10. The fact he's even at a club like that starting games in La Lige kind of suggests he was never as crap as his constant knockers on here like to make out. Frustrating yes, crap ..no.
  11. Led to believe Leonard has been told to not even bother showing for training as he has no future at the club, same for Buckley. I feel for Leonard, we all really wanted him to progress but his body just says nope far more than it should at his age. Buckley as I've said many times before, simply doesn't appear to have the desire to succeed here or anywhere, odd player, odd attitude.
  12. That makes him sound like Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets rolled into one! Looking at Forest's equaliser, I believe it is Wharton who is one of two Palace players that get somewhat done in the middle of the park before the Forest player plays an exceptional through pass for their goal. I might be being harsh, but to my mind those scenarios show that he is a little weak defensively. It wasn't the fact he got beat but how far off he was. Maybe I am being harsh, but either way, I think at this stage he needs a Will Hughes alongside him to do a lot of the physical work.
  13. Not being funny, but there's all high praise on here, but google has him lowest ranked of the 6 attacking players. He's actually joint second lowest from the entire Espanyol team at 3.7. Haven't watched a minute since he's been gone. But there's either some misty eyed confirmation bias going on from his longstanding supporters. Or google is way off the mark. To quantify, google is pretty close to the mark on Rovers games etc I do watch. Certainly ballpark. So something doesn't add up here. I'll make an effort to view with my own eyes though, just to head off the cheerleader backlash. πŸ˜‰
  14. 18-24 months is a long time as manager in the Championship πŸ˜‰
  15. Today
  16. Can only assume that some members of the Ewood Park jury were wrong. When is he disappearing without trace Nyambe style then ?
  17. I think Toth is the far likelier of the two to be eligible for conversion in January. edited to add: Having β€˜crunched the numbers’ I think Kargbo being eligible is more realistic than my instinct thought.
  18. Because we have five players who can play wingback (Alebiouso, Miller, De Neve, Pickering, Riberio) but only two who are wingers (Kargbo, Hedges).
  19. Throw Henriksson in this section too.
  20. I go for championship experience centre back myself I can see him going there. Eustace always stuck with him Leonard hasn't had a loan
  21. Hard to disagree with this. He clearly had high standards and, if you didn't either buy into that and work hard, or didn't have the talent, you were out. Players like Szmodics and Wharton thrived - both of whom have spoken publicly in positive terms about JDT's influence on their development. If we'd have backed him and Broughton properly, we wouldn't be pissing around in the Championship still now.
  22. If they are replacing players that looked out of favour and with no way back, with signings to go into the team then I will give them credit. My expectation/fear is that given Buckley/Duru/Leonard/Pears haven’t been involved then they've not been counted as needing to be replaced. If they do then the squad quickly looks to have a chance: Toth, NEW, Young keeper Alebiosu, Miller, Hyam, Carter, McLoughlin, Wharton, Ribeiro, Pickering Tronstad, Taveres, Baradji, NEW, Forshaw, Montgomery NEW WINGER Kargbo, Henriksson, Cantwell, Tyjon, Hedges, De Neve Ohashi, Gueye, NEW If Gueye isn't fancied and he is shipped out, 2 strikers coming in that can compete with/are better than Ohashi then happy days. Of course we're reliant on players hitting the ground running and I still think we lack quality on the left but the squad potentially could be a lot better than expected given all the experienced departures. Over to you RG...
  23. My guess is that there were probably cost and relationship issues with Liverpool that saw Morton getting more minutes than he warranted.
  24. Earliest we can get another ESC player is January if we convert Kargbo and/or Toth. So we can firmly rule out any ESC player (this window, at least).
