  1. Past hour
  2. Feel the same way. Always wanted us to sign daddy Gudjohnsen. Thought he was class. Hopefully the apple hasn’t fallen far from the tree.
  3. Ohashi gets bullied off the ball every week.
  4. I remember when I was a young lad getting excited about links to Eidur Gudjohnson when we were under Hughes. Now we're in for his son, time sure does fly... Kudos to Gestede, it has been an exciting window. I have no idea what to expect this season but I'm more optimistic than I expected to be a couple of months back.
  5. They'd be shifting him out now if they didn't think he was good enough - they've been ruthless with the other transfers.
  6. All the best to Harry Leonard. Some great moments for us, most recent that equaliser on Boxing Day last year against the Mackems. Good positional awareness and his finishing was decent enough(?). Hope he kicks on. A shrewd bit of business for Posh if him and his bad back can stay off the physio table. Back injuries are the worst. I slipped a disc about 10 years ago and it still gives me grief to this day. Granted I’m a rotund ageing layabout, and not a professional athlete, but still. Should open up a new slot for a striker. Over to you Rudy!
  7. If the incomings are not successful, the 3000 minutes will become a stick to beat Gestede with. It was a rash public statement.
  8. I can't disagree with the lack of class in ditching the dirt in the "insta", Facebook culture... In a previous life, I took over a service, where staff were amid all the luvs, huns and various emojis, staff were all too busy marginalising managers and colleagues... As Ena Sharples might say, "Common!"
  9. Born in London, so I wonder if Eidur went native...
  10. I think someone has realised we were woefully short of assets. The ones over this Β£10k wage cap (or wanting an extension over this Β£10k wage cap) have been shifted out. They've been replaced with young gambles from abroad with an eye on developing them and selling them on. We'll be in the black when the window closes because we've absolutely slashed the wage bill.
  11. Think it'll be Gudjohnsen and a free agent striker. Can't see them spending out on 2.
  12. The thing is we need the players now, not in the future. Leonard is not championship level now, he may be in the future.
  13. Down to two strikers in the squad now. We had Ramsey's Wingless Wonders - now meet Ismael's Toothless Terrors!
  14. No clue on the points system with regards to overseas signings, but would Gudjonnsen qualify. I notice he was born in London so maybe that is enough.
  15. Would Smit not need an ESC slots? Gudjohnsen in and Leonard out I'm fine with...although its always sad to see an academy player go, Leonard just never looked like he'd be able to get a solid run of games behind him. I can't see Rovers bringing in 2 strikers when we only pay 1 up top. Unless Gueye is on his way as well, which I highly doubt.
  16. Wharton has been included in the England squad for the forthcoming World Cup quaifiers.
  17. It's a real shame about Harry Leonard leaving as I really thought he was destined for the top but injuries have impeded his progress. I hope he stays fit and I really hope we have inserted buy back and a healthy sell on clauses in the deal.
  18. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ hopefully we’ll find out soon.
  19. This Smit lad looks like he plays wide left too (similar to Brereton-Diaz). Would provide plenty of depth. DeNeve might have his nose pushed out of joint though.
  20. We could get two fees- one for Pears and one for his hair
  21. That seems a much quicker court follow up appearance than it has been in the past, maybe something has actually happened, apart from the standard adjournment?
  22. I think selling Leonard is the right choice given the fee. I noticed on a few occasions he'd get into a good position with the ball and then almost seize up even if just for a split second before shooting by which time a defender had the chance to stick a leg out and block it. I think that the ability to get a shot off when you get the chance is often innate and is the barrier between a player who scores for in the comparatively low-pressure and low-pace academy league games becoming a professional striker in the championship. Of course it may have developed if he hadn't had so many injury problems but to me he just didn't posses that killer instinct, he may however thrive in the lower leagues and hit double figure seasons where he has more time to think about his shots.
  23. Think VI has seen what us fans have seen for a while - we are powderpuff up top. Two new strikers suggests that hasn't gone unnoticed by the coaching team. I wouldn't be surprised to see Ohashi used more on the RW, where I thought he was really good at the beginning of last season. Definitely think Gueye is out the door in Jan. Think VI has already seen enough and deemed him nowhere near good enough.
