The January 2026 Transfer Window
Exiled_Rover replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I'd be after the best City / Man U / Arsenal / Chelsea / Liverpool Academy striker they have in their youth system ready to test men's football. Need us to guarantee minutes? Well we've no bugger else, so that's an easy sell. I wouldn't be fruitlessly chasing a lad from League One who a) we clearly can't afford and b) you'd have to convince that we're not going to be in League One ourselves next year. -

Wasn't Ribeiro one of Gestede's exciting summer (re-)signings? Perfect for the 4-2-3-1 Ismael wanted to play and solid competition for Pickering one of our high earners? They must have been key players this season according to "the plan", oh wait.... -

I think Ribeiro was left out of the squad this weekend because he is already on his way He posted, then shortly afterwards deleted, a picture of him waving on social media last week Then its probably a case of them loaning out Pratt (as they have to play Cashin) and/or maybe not registering Hedges due to his injury -
Absolutely no problem. I freely admit I've been a VERY negative bugger about the Club over the last 5 years or so because other than the glimmers of hope offered by JDT and Eustace I see nothing whatsoever to be positive about! In fact I've been dubbed "The anti chaddy" on here as well which reflects my level of concern about the Club. Imo it's not just a normal case of we've got a poor manager (although we have) and we'll go down and bounce back etc. It's the very existence of the Club that is at stake. We won't be bouncing back like last time it happened and imo if Venky's remain for any length of time the Club dies. It's as simple as that. So for me we have to do SOMETHING, anything to try and get them out. Sitting back and doing or saying nothing simply isn't an option if we want the Club to survive in a meaningful form. And a call for a boycott is a logical and appropriate first step in that process imo.

I really dont get this anti English player agenda you seem so keen to push. Our media often overhypes English players.

Returning to our points per game of the first 14 matches gets us to 51 points Maintaining our points per game from the last 14 matches gets us to 44 points. -
Vitriol? Really... I think this is just getting out of hand.

The only approach you appear to want me to have is to have the same opinion as you, otherwise you'll force through some odd interpretation that I'm blaming boycotters for division in the support base. For the third or fourth time, I've done no such thing, and you are clutching at straws to convince me otherwise. I've aired my opinions. Nobody has to agree with them. I'm not going to take your opinions and twist them into something totally false to demean your stance. So don't do the same to me.

Just posted in the relegation thread, 50pts usually the safety mark for relegation, therefore we need 7 wins or 6 wins and a few snookers to get to that. I've no faith in this manager to play his part in getting us to that target. Has he even won 50 points in total during his time here? -
One sided vitriol masquerading as balanced reason?

This rule is aimed at new owners. The more they pay to the unsecured creditors of the club, this reduces the chance of a further points deduction. A new owner may of course think “F*ck that…” & swallow the additional points deduction to protect their cash reserves. https://www.danielgeey.com/done-deal-blog/football-league-insolvency-regulation-changes-a-brief-summary

And just to add... We are still over squad size, so there is going to be sacrificial lambs in the next week or so..... It took nearly 2 weeks to sell Gueye when he was clearly not part of the plans moving forward History doesn't lie, and I've got 0 faith in our higher ups to do anything remotely sensible -
Ignore them. People like to bash English players. Especially young ones. People have their tongues up Brazilian arses despite Brazil not producing top quality players anymore

We've been averaging roughly 1 point per game 28 played, 29 pts). If we continue on that run we'll get 46-48 points. Some seasons that's enough to stay up, some seasons it isn't. Our squad is getting gradually worse as the season progresses, morale is (presumably) getting lower and lower, I think it's 50/50 whether we survive. Two home wins only so far, if we only win another two home games before the end of the season, we're going down. Edit - we need to get to 50 points, that is usually enough. We need 21 points from 18 games, so 7 wins or 6 wins and a few draws? -

The manager's been getting it wrong for months, heading back to September. The squad isn't great but it's better than where it is in the table. 4 at the back would have been fine in many fixtures against some really ordinary teams (Oxford, Charlton, Sheffield Wednesday, Portsmouth). Alebiosu as a right midfielder and Miller as a full back would have worked well at this level for much of it, along with Ribiero or Pickering at left back and Morishita as a left midfielder. Ribiero, McLoughlin, Hyam, Miller. Is how we ideally should have started every game this season. For what it's worth I think we'd have had a lot less injuries too. Playing with wing backs is intense for everyone, a back to basics type appointment earlier in the season and I'm confident we wouldn't have lost so many home games. Ismael and the "data" approach has cost us a huge amount of points and potentially relegated us. In fact I'm fairly certain it's already sent us down and there will be no change in the dugout this season. -

That one was definitely just propaganda. -
I’m not being forceful - I wouldn’t say it is an assertion. It is more an observation around your language and posting history. I am not trying to twist it. I’ve given you examples of your posts, told you how I think it is coming across and asked you why. I haven’t put words in your mouth as I have directly quoted you. This is all part of the critical debate you appear to want. If you don’t like being criticised yourself, perhaps you shouldn’t be so forceful in criticising others. In both of your posts about division your examples were centred to fans who boycott. On the other forum, your criticism extends to fans on here who disagree with you. I think it is entirely fair to ask why you have never once criticised any of the abuse that the coalition and boycotters have received themselves, including on the board in which you moderate. This is despite some very reasoned and voluminous posts you have made on the subject. You would have thought, in an objective view, you would have acknowledged this by now and without having to be prompted I think you need to attempt harder to find middle ground with your fellow fans. Thousands of people are telling you they have had enough through boycotting. There must be a better approach to your interaction in all of this that does not involve asking those people to produce an in depth business case for what is next in order to for them to be so rewarded with your participation

The 25% rule covers all non footballing creditors not just owners but I agree it rewards them. I believe there’s a 15 point deduction for failing to comply with this rule - I think we’d all take that in exchange for Venkys not getting a penny…

For the last few windows we've been told we made bids for strikers for big money. (3 off the top of my head) Sambou Soumano Mostafa Mohamad Willem Geubbels A lot of noise from Nixon who seemed very confident that we were fronting up the money..... But again, we were offering well under the value they wanted Stinks of the "we tried but...." IF, and it's a big IF, the money is there, it only seems to be there for these below market value bids.... Because it always seems to dissappear by the start of the following window, and we need up flapping and scraping around for the next load of tosh -
Thanks for clarifying. Either way it's seems a bonkers rule to me - a reward for bad ownership if you will.
