There’s all sorts of ways you can get injured on pitches like that. How many long distance sliding tackles did we see ? No way to control those. You go flying after a ball near the touch line and going sliding headlong into the boundary walls. You take an almighty swipe at where you think the ball is going to be and it isn’t there = muscle injuries etc. I would imagine most of the players were glad to get off. Plus the fact the non - swimmers among them could have been in danger of drowning.

I took it a different way. Just another example of the farce that is Rovers -the players clearly knew, so why weren't the freezing cold fans told quickly in an announcement? I believe the decision to replay it has already been made. Just going through the motions listening to both clubs before making it official. There is no way anything but a full replay happens, they won't want to set any kind of precedence.

Hey, when I made that point I was downvoted 🙂 It happened a bit ago no? (Can't remember who we were playing). Arrived at a home game around 2pm to hear announcement on Radio 5 that it was abandoned. Cue Rovers fans, away fans, BBC 5Live all moaning about the ref and late cancellation etc etc.

I said yesterday that Rovers have to put forward a case to put pressure on the EFL Board but it has to be reasoned and structured. Right now I don't think there is anybody capable of doing this down there so I personally would be speaking to our shirt sponsor to put together a letter that would put pressure on the people making the decision.

Locking off the main outlet would only leave the pitch water to be pumped. Just because the water would be flowing doesn't mean it wouldn't flood back up the inlet. Lock off the outlet and pump the sealed in water

Gut feel with Arteta, he’s not ruthless enough to win the league, 3 defensive mids at home, what the? No creativity in the middle, slow and ponderous build up. Think Madueke has looked really good at times though, good move for him to go there. I guess they’ve Saka on the bench, along with other options, but with a different manager, I reckon they’d be able to go a bit further as a club.

I’d be surprised if they listen but if Nicko is to be believed we are trying to fight our corner and I think that’s a good sign. It’s also good that the EFL are listening to the clubs and allowing them to suggest alternatives. They could have just said straight away that it’s a full replay.
