  1. Past hour
  2. Must disagree with you on that one. Keith had the versatility to play in midfield as well as a player who could operate on either flank at full-back. The season he left, in December, we had spent serious money on Allan Hunter, Ken Knighton and Brian Hill, in a bid to get promotion. We were challenging at the top of the table until Keith left and then results fell away in the second half of the season. Tried to fill the gap with a combination of Ray Charter, Frank Kopel and Laurie Calloway - all inferior players - and confidence seemed to be impacted by the loss of England's best right-back at the time.
  3. Absolutely Ismael would have wanted to keep him and I don't think it's a case of the board not listening or wanting to keep Brittain, it's simply that the player wanted to go to a more ambitious, well run club that pays a higher wage. Under this current ownership, we're just not able to compete financially or operationally with ~80% of the other clubs in this league.
  4. jenny from the blackburn end reception is now the clubs official photographer, the fellow who used to do it before was actually charging the club for his services, what a cheek, the rotter, pasha soon fired him for that heinous crime
  5. Venkys are taking the payroll to Rotherham's level. Where are they now?
  6. They may not take any notice of the coaching staff but they have history of taking notice of Football Agents !
  7. In terms of RB downgrade it's not quite he who shall not be named freezing out Michel Salgado for Bradley Orr, but I hope this new lad is at least solid (and we buy someone with the money). Onwards and downwards...
  8. Wtf is this picture about. He looks so weird. Have we got rid of our professional photographer now and brought in an apprentice?
  9. Given that none of these players - Dolan, Brittain, Travis - are Premier League standard, only Championship clubs will buy them. But they cannot afford to pay the inflated price that a player with more than 2 years remaining can command. Would Boro pay £5m+ for Brittain?
  10. nobody on the board can work that out, they don`t take any notice of the coaching staff thats clear,i can`t believe ismael wanted to sell brittain and get someone in who`s not as good
  11. We still haven't replaced Szmodic šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø
  12. Please, please get up early and watch so that we can have a trustworthy report - otherwise we may have to wait a month for the minutes and they won't be accurate anyway.
  13. Miller is a decent signing but he's not as good as the player he's replaced, so ultimately we're weaker now.
  14. I reckon Val will be shitting himself with the available players. A very defensive start with more forward play in the second half if it's still 0-0. Settle for 0-0, 0-1 would give us slight hope for the future.
  15. That privy is clearly a club plant and comes across terribly. Obviously has information but in exchange for releasing that, has an agenda to make the club seem flawless. Likes to make the issues we face seem out of our hands.
  16. Hopefully Miller will be fit soon. Injured at the moment and even when he is fit will have to quickly get up to speed. I do worry that Ismael will opt for Montgomery over Alebiosu in the mean time which would be asking for trouble. The Miller deal makes sense on paper but to lose the best right back (or if not, then one of) is a massive blow whichever way you look at it. Seems like Miller is athletic, has a good throw and is a threat at set pieces although is prone to issues with concentration and isnt going to offer the same attacking threat. Concerning that his form improved when not playing at right back where he had received a bit of stick. Hibs fans seem sad to see him go (and about the potential of Hanley being his replacement) which is a good sign and at an age where he can improve.
  17. Probably , relegation to League 2 !
  18. mission accomplished, sell the last players who are of any value,i think this last lot of sales are it,we litteraly don`t have anyone else to sell who`ll bring in any money, the cupboard is now officially bare, unless tyjon turns out to be another adam wharton, then he`ll be sold quicker than an a ipad on black friday be interesting to see what will happen next season
  19. Yea I’d agree and theirs has probably gone up. Probably close to double ours now!
  20. Can't see that, he has Zetterstrom already there Trav to Derby though, is easy to envisage šŸ˜ž
  21. Keith Newton. That team went from 2nd at Xmas to relegation the following season.
  22. Depends who the buyer is but I’d say similar to Brittain
  23. You'd hope for at least 3m for Trav. Wage figures are tragic, would guess that we are probably 3rd or 4th lowest in the league now. Players we released or sold were presumably higher earners (Dolan aside), and we are replacing them with cheaper ones. It is literally the Coyle era project all over again, which I seem to recall was the last time Suhail had complete control....
