  1. Past hour
  2. But you didnโ€™t say his name, soโ€ฆ
  3. Absolutely right. He agreed a budget with the owners and gave his word that he wouldn't come back asking for more. That's one of the reasons I admire the guy. I know old fashioned principles like keeping your word isn't something you expect in football but I find it an admirable quality. Like all managers he made mistakes, they all do, but on the whole I think history will record his tenure at Ewood Park kindly.
  4. Not quite sure how a young team manager is particularly comparable to Jack in the first place, but Vinner gonna Vinner.
  5. Norwich are weird. Lost all 3 home games including a 3-0 reverse home to Southampton two days ago But Won both away games by 2-1 at Portsmouth and Watford....
  6. What?.....no Lewandowski? We did everything we could....
  7. That's the spirit - let's talk about players who might come in, rather than this awful navel-gazing about those who have gone.. As I said, there are some very experienced goalkeepers without clubs, from the top flight. We could benefit from some experience and calm heads / steady hands as back up. No doubt Mr Fruity and Bad Tempered Shadow-Boy are hard at work plotting some unexpected coup in the striking and goalkeeping departments... Not long now till we find out.. Tick Tock!
  8. Calvert-Lewin signed for Leeds, Begovic signed for Leicester Ings signed for Sheff Utd
  9. Double swoop for out of favour Everton players.. Asmir Begovic Position: Goalkeeper Age: 37 2024/25 appearances: 0 Dominic Calvert-Lewin Position: Striker Age: 28 2024/25 appearances: 26 Oh, and we are sniffing around the stinking pile of shithousery called Danny Ings, from West Ham too.. But seriously, there are some excellent goalkeepers available from the top flight...
  10. Like Travis you mean? And unlike Ismael who slung mud publicly at Travis without specifying what it was about? As for the lady who's left Rovers, why is everyone on their high horse about what's let's face it is a fairly mild comment from her? Nearly everyone on here says far worse than that about the regime every day. I doubt anyone on here knows what's gone on between her and the Club but rightly or wrongly they've binned her off after 20 years so it ร—would be hardly surprising if she's got the hump. Why should she have any loyalty to the Club now? And if she's nearing retirement age she may not be able to get another similar role or need to worry about what prospective future employers think of her social media activity. In general we can't keep hold of staff and the senior players were allegedly appalled by the way this lady was treated. Add to the Head Coach unnecessarily bad mouthing Travis in Public and it's a sheer lack of decency and professionalism at Club level as always.l
  11. Yes you are, it's just deemed as being a bit weird that you change it to something different, but that hasn't been stopped either.
  12. Messi, Neymar and Ronaldo all by next Monday. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  13. Amorim trying to deflect blame to his technical director (apparently not allowed to say his name) recently in the usual backstabbing that goes on at that club. Jack Walker never behaved like that hopefully he will get what he deserves soon.
  14. Travis was a very competent defensive midfielder and reliable yellow card collector who is the sort of player oppositions prefer not to come up against. A great servant of the club but at his age time to cash in from football while he still can. Good luck to him. In the cold world of money, he is worth more to Derby than he is to Rovers. As someone else posted, Adam Wharton was a kick in the balls of every Rovers supporter. This is business.
  15. Tbf they weren't saves you wouldnt expect any keeper to make. He does have a knack for making routine saves look showy. However assomeone who isn't a fan,. he's improved a lot since he first came in. He needed to.
  16. Iโ€™m sure there are many who share your views. I guess there will be those who feel that a football club is part of the social fabric of a town/city but increasingly, given the gentrification of the game, football has become just another commodity to be consumed like a Big Mac without thinking too much. . As for control, well I wonder why clubs hire an army of voices to manufacture and massage public opinion. And why certain fan actions at many clubs around the world have caused change. And of course there are plenty who just like โ€˜debatingโ€™ โ€“hence a lively messagboard. ๐Ÿ™‚
  17. So glad we are out, did they really say that? Jees
  18. Indeed - although not in year 1! Massive deflection and a dodgy pen in the last ten minutes making a draw out of what seemed like an easy win.
  19. Can someone please make up a transfer rumour?! It's got to the point where people are trawling through LinkedIn profiles of Rovers employees.
  20. Coming second to Celtic wouldnโ€™t have been too surprising and as long as they were competitive enough in the cups and Europe he would easily have waffled himself to another decent gigโ€ฆ though the way he is completely tanking in a matter of weeks may see him run out of road.
  21. There's no use in us arguing semantics, I don't think saying Hull were dreadful is downplaying a result, you do. Fine. That's why I said a real start. Of course the points count, let's not be silly. Two wins in a row and I would consider our season truly underway.
