  2. Why would you have any faith in Gestede to learn lessons? Do you have any faith in him? There were obviously slots available. My point is, for a club with seemingly grand plans of looking abroad, knowing that a lot of players will subsequently need these slots, especially at the prices we are paying, you wouldn't tie any up for players who arent first teamers.
  3. Glen on the podcast was told that the budget was set. It was set on the basis of not needing to make any sales. However, it was subsequently asked whether there was an agreement with owners to reinvest the funds of any player sales. Suhail said there was no agreement and he had never asked that question. It's insane - Β£5m and that may need to cover 4/5 players or 11 first team players based on sales...but any income is irrelevant.
  4. I dont know so I'm speculating but the way Gestede described it, it sounds like the transfer budget is "X" regardless of whether we make any sales or not. If we do happen to make any sales those funds go back to the owners and are not made available for reinvestment in the side. Doesn't make any sense whatsoever but then what does under this regime?
  5. The error the club made was not sticking him on the bench in the first few weeks of last season and giving him his debut, therefore meaning he would have earned a standard work permit last January
  6. Signed under Eustace then loaned now a new manager never been given even efl cup game people can debate the ability all they want but the fact he was called a hotshot etc and never even given cup minutes is very very strange and now because he has that slot he is the one getting the boot…..or alternatively we could put him on 1min this sat afternoon and get the slot and keep him and loan him again
  7. Had the Mafoumbi signing taken up the final slot, i'd then agree with you. However, correct me if i'm wrong, there were other slots available at the time so in order to bring in a potential talent, they gave him a slot. Had we refused and a rival club came in and done the same and Mafoumbi went on to become a big talent, we'd be frustrated at the club for not giving it a go. The situation now is that he was given a chance, it hasn't worked out, we're releasing him to make the slot free. I don't really know what else the club could have done in this situation other than what they've done.
  8. Reckon that's where the staff will be told to bring torches, soap, water and a coat in future as we've switched off utilities to save money.
  9. It's actually essentially Β£30 with a Β£10 charge per name. I looked at the 2 & 3 name options for myself and my daughter and then thought about my Dad as well, they're both Β£50 & Β£60 respectively! FOV
  10. Underneath the ad for the book another message informing us "Club shop to close early at 12p.m tomorrow for "staff event". Yep celebrate Blackburn Rovers in it's 150th year folks!
  11. Maybe you know this or maybe it's one for Glen ... is the transfer budget gross or net ie gross = you can spend Β£5M full stop, or net = your spend versus your sale proceeds cannot exceed -Β£5M. I'm having a dim confused day as one makes sense to me and the other doesn't.

  13. The manager accepting that, has me honestly thinking, I have no sympathy for him, despite his statement on Saturday that he is human and has feelings. What other manager and what other club, would accept players leaving and the money they bring, not being even partially used to replace them?
  14. I think we had spent the majority of the budget by then, but what do I know... Mafoumbi was presented a bit different than a U21 signing normally is, see below. So that they had aspirations for him to kick on is a pretty safe assessment, I would say. I agree with you though, and I'm positive Gestede and whoever else deals with this have learnt their lesson.
  15. Mercer had said the day before that he wasnt playing. So must have been a figment of your imagination.
  16. It's appears to have gone so quiet on the RW position it's untrue. Indeed the only real link we've had all summer was an out of date one to the Japanese lad. Even for this lot, not having any form of contingency plan for Dolan leaving seems negligent beyond belief. We must have known he was going for months and months.
  17. i was his debut V Ipswich in the full members cup Semi final. I think Β£30k is correct.
  18. I was sat in the riverside against Birmingham, hyam was one of our better players.
  19. How come Hyam got 8/10 in the LT ratings.
  20. Might deed poll my name to Fuckoff Venkys and see how far I get.

  22. Always thought Cirino looked a prospect
  23. No but I bet they’re itching to lower the wage bill and get rid of more experience and not invest the fee received!
  24. Fixed that for you. Matters not whether he leaves for money nor fair words. His leaving is a Travisty (pardon the pun).
  25. Do you think they are back peddling and negotiating another year?
