  1. Past hour
  2. He’s still the best centre half I’ve ever seen in the flesh. When the Rothmans Football Annual published their best British 11 Mike was in it at centre half for several years and that was at the tail end of his career. He had it all ability wise. I still think his best days were at Rovers, when he went to Spurs they reigned in his attacking instincts.
  3. David Bowie - Station To Station
  4. That was the name and the gist of it was they don't like some of the chants ( of the loyal hardcore older fans ) in No1 and it was spreading to No2 and influencing younger fans. They expected the pricing to influence the older demographic to move across to the riverside and be quiet because it's cheaper. Then the younger element would fill up those BBE seats because of the cheaper pricing for them and they'd happy clap the team. There was more but that's the general arrogant tone form a guy who thinks he'll just move people around the stadium on purpose because he feels like it. For me it just reflects the general tone about how they see our support and why they couldn't care less when hardly anyone turns up because it's less hassle for them, they clearly have their excuses ready for any questions from above. As i said though i'm only assuming it was real. i'll try and find it but others on here must've seen it.
  5. My word. Revisiting that thread made for fascinating reading. Quite rightly, absolute uproar and outrage for a "digital day" Cup tie against Cambridge and now digital ticketing and the lack of choice barely causes a raised eyebrow. Extremely sad. Just as now, utter contempt for the fans from the Club in full evidence, even with the recently departed and often lamented St. Steven still on the premises. Not a thread that a certain poster who in it was at the time backing the Club to the hilt at every turn and who claimed to have a built in bullshit detector due to his many years of experience will recall with any fondness now he would appear to have reversed his position on the Club completely.
  6. A safe journey to all travelling to Smogland for the game this afternoon. Fingers crossed for a worthwhile journey, and some semblance of a Blackburn Rovers that gives it Arte et Labore for the full 90 minutes plus stoppage time. Middlesbrough looking dry and relatively calm for the duration, so there will be no swampy pitch to contend with. I do hope the PASHA OUT banner has legs and will travel. Keep the visual pressure up on the backroom snake, if nothing else. Anyway, compliments of the season to one and all - let's hope that the Boro side are in the mood for giving gifts, and that our Icelandic tapper inner has his shooting boots on. Here's hoping that the youngsters get another chance to show their worth too. Give em the Road to Hell, so that when you're driving home for (the day after) Christmas you will be doing so with the satisfaction of putting Bob Mortimer (bless him) on his arse. It will make Lee Mack happy, after all.. COYB! VENKYS OUT!
  7. It took me about 30 minutes at the Accy Stanley friendly. He looked like somebody who had just come out of the crowd to make up the numbers.
  8. Dangerous game that as was when we 5-1 or 5-0 a few years before ! Ayresome Park, is up there with Burnden Park as the most dangerous grounds ,I have visited !
  9. McLaughlin is bang average which was highlighted plenty of times earlier in the season at left of three centre backs. As the central defender of three he is even worse but has been protected well by Miller and Pratt either side who have natural defensive instincts. Mclaughlin wins very few duels, gets too tight/easily turned and thinks hes better than he is which means he spends far too much time playing at the back when we should be trying to get the ball into Cantwell/Morishita and the 2 strikers. First job in January is to get someone competent to replace him as the central defender of the three. No issues with him as a sub/backup as hes always fit and gives 100%.
  10. My dad was a joiner in Redlam who did business with Mike England.
  11. What have you seen from De Neve that makes you feel it's too early to judge?
  12. Certainly nothing special about Hull City, I believe where he came from or Sheffield United, knobhead !
  13. Yes Fielder sorry. That was the guy I was thinking of. Shook his hand in one of the lounges once.
  14. Yes that's THE Mike England 👍🏻👍🏻
  15. Today
  16. There are no words!!!! Well done to the bowlers. If this is the best we can do when batting, heaven help us. A new broom sweeps clean.
  17. All about opinions will agree to disagree on this one
  18. Season tickets on the blockchain…
  19. What would a Bored Ape Rovers edition have gone for?
  20. Thats venkys rovers of 15 years for you. Not comparable at all. Baradji looks like he can play from what we have seen. Forshaw has been better than Tavares and Henriksson though which says a lot. TGH whilst not brilliant shouldn't be put in with that group. Think Batth was much better last season than McLoughlin has been this season.
  21. Yes..an early image rights deal ??? 🤔
  22. Paul Fielder…currently at Sheffield United
  23. No. It wasn’t Fraser. Paul Fielder was the former head of commercial & NFT advocate who thought there was nothing special about Blackburn Rovers…whilst employed by Blackburn Rovers. In my dealings with Fraser, I always got the impression that there were many things he’d like to do that were quashed from above.
  24. Oh great - the Club's unofficial PR Department is back to tell us what a great window we're going to have/ are having. If "the jury is out" on Tavares, Henrikssen and De Neve they must have been fast asleep all the way through the trial! Also slightly harsh on TGH, not brilliant, but far from the worst out of the sea of dross signed in summer.
  25. To date yes - I think batth was massively aided by hyam and the fact McLaughlin doesn’t have that experience beside him and he’s that man then yes all things considered I do again as I wrote at the beginning we are joint 7th best defence in the league (doesn’t feel like it but we are) he has been the main stay in that defence with others dropping in and out with injury so I’d say given all that he’s at least on a par with batth 100%
  26. Has to be done: The Jam - Down In the Tube Station at Midnight
